We appreciate all the women who've contributed on this sub. And there are quite a few.
For all the goofs (mostly men) trying to post here who've hardly posted before and mindlessly repeating racist talking points about the character of the subreddit, please seek help.
I’ve known a few women from this sub back when I first started interacting about 7 years ago. Most of them have left though and started families, focused on careers, etc. I do think there are more women on this sub now than when I first joined.
This sub has gotten a reputation for being a “MRAsian” sub thanks to people like Celeste Ng and other Asian boba libs. I’ve seen other subs refer to this sub as a hate sub, even with the changes made over the past couple years.
But I think the damage was done, and the “MRAsian” reputation remained. And tbh, I don’t think it helps that a minority of the members (often older, jaded, and divisive) are still active on here after many years.
I doubted, this subreddit have gotten a bad rep. Gay Asians and AF pretty much stay out of it. The majority did a great job at gaslighting everyone, that no one sees color, and we are all equal.
For people with racial trauma, this subreddit can trigger people's old wounds. People on here can also be pretty homophobic. It can get toxic, and encourage negativity and victim mentality.
There's really no "US" in Asia diaspora. Everyone is mostly thinking for themselves. With a few exceptions who does actually put in the work to provide some good insights.
With the increasing censorship these days, you'd be sure, any activism will be pushed down. A few Asian men can't change the larger system.
I would assume you meant dating? A lot of the discourse here revolves around how Asians navigate American society too. Do you disagree with those takes?
But I guess you lurk because you at least find some of this discussion interesting enough to stay? Asian women only subreddits don’t really talk about the issues affecting Asians as a whole and also seem to mainly focus on dating as well.
In other words, you thought as a "new user" you could spread defamatory content about the sub. I prefer the women contributors on this sub who've actually contributed and that we've vetted.

Ya this sub has mellowed out over the years. Used to be to much redpill bs taking up space instead of any meaningful conversation

What would you like to say that you feel like you couldn’t?

Agreed
I’m afraid I’d get downvoted to oblivion for speaking my mind tbh

I would like to see more Women contribute on this sub instead of staying neutral when it comes to Asian issues , It would be a nice change.
Same. I tend to lurk but will comment when I see something that resonate with me

Definitely more women than before. Honestly this sub was not very female friendly a couple of years before
As a guy, it's def nice that this sub has become a space where both men and women can safely criticize white worship without flirting with misogyny.
yes I agree!
To be fair though, men generally aren't female friendly. 🤷♀️
I’m a woman
You could do a poll but I see a fair amount of women posting.
