Looking for business class award availability from Bangkok (BKK) to Los Angeles (LAX) around January 10, 2026 (±3 days flexible).
What I've checked so far:
- Air Canada - No availability
- ANA - No availability
- EVA Air - No availability
- JAL - Unable to search (their website won't let me check availability without going to Japan)
My situation:
- Flying one-way
- Willing to consider positioning flights from other Thai cities or SE Asia hubs
- Open to routing through NRT, ICN, TPE, or YVR
Questions:
- Any tips for getting JAL's search to work?
- Should I be checking other Star Alliance/OneWorld partners?
- Is this route typically tough in early January? Should I adjust dates?
- Any alternative routing suggestions I'm missing?
Appreciate any guidance from those who've booked this route! I know I am early but getting ready and monitoring the next few days.
Assuming date in the title is the correct one, you are a bit too early for most programs: https://www.reddit.com/r/awardtravel/comments/ysjvks/list_when_airlines_open_award_availability/
Acknowledged. I know I am early but looking at Jan 8/9 for trends right now.
You are early for all of those programs

EVA is probably still going to be in holiday blackout but the others should have releases, you'll need to be quick though.
I don't even think EVA is releasing to Aeroplan at calendar open anymore. At least it's not been consistent at all since late last year.
I'm talking about their own program, not aeroplan
Booking EVA on EVA is basically always available.
Not here to argue, but that's not true around the holidays for 2026/2027. Everything has been "waiting" on calendar open since 12/15 or so
Not true for the 2026/2027 holiday period for their own program
Seems like they are blacked out till the 9th Jan 2027 that I checked for now
Yeah. I booked outbound from SEA on 12/9 and a return to YVR for 12/31. Outbound from most US gateways has dried up starting around 12/10 and returns to the US are blacked out starting around 12/29.
would suggest Singapore Airlines or Qatar, can generally find available from Bangkok and if not BKK via KL or HKT
Thanks!

Checkout the TPAC VN route. Start direct then try to add connectors. There is availability.
Checked flying blue and can't see anything. Maybe they haven't released yet?
What did you search?
Jan 7/8 SGN to LAX on Air France
You need to read Award Availability Guide in the sidebar so you know what you are searching for vs guessing. Your routing requires a connection that isn't available until ~330 days out, by then the TPAC flight will be gone.
There was availability 2 hours ago.
This is not a daily flights. Since it has come up several times here, availability has started to go relatively quickly. If you want it, I wouldn’t wait on it.
Seems like their direct is to SFO. WIll check that too in a few days. Thanks!
Thanks! Do you recommend booking VN directly or what program should I look at?
Flying Blue
Thanks!
How about SQ? Or VN?
SQ miles needed seem wild. Checking out how to book VN.
Flying SGN to SFO will be by far the easiest route to secure. Just use Air France, it is very easy to book
