Hi everyone,
I want to turn my wardrobe into a small vocal booth for singing. My main goal is clean, dry vocal recordings with minimal reflections. This is how my wardrobe looks:
What would you suggest?
Thanks in advance :)
And is more information needed?
Fill it with clothes.
Literally. I had a walk-in closet at my old apartment and once it was filled with clothes I used it to track vocals and guitar
building rockwool filled panels to put around the mic on rolling feet or hanging them strategically in your room will most likely give you better results than putting anything in this cabinet. i think it is unfortunately too small for that job.
a low cost alternative to play around with: get your thickest blankets and hang them on a ladder or a coatrack and move it behind you, behind the mic, or in front of reflective surfaces like windows while recording and listen to the different positions, when you have the funds build or buy acoustic panels to go in the identified locations.
If there are only 3 sides you might be OK but closing the door (or anything that makes 4 sides) will create a nightmare of low-mid resonances that will sound awful. This is why a pro vocal booth is 20x the size.

Get a blanket and suspend it in the center from a point on the ceiling. I know a guy who did this for years in his tiny studio and the results were pretty solid.
Buy moving blankets and pin them up.
