I'm currently in a new city working as a driver and I have been loving it! Anyways to my comment...
Today I had a rider that booked early and as I pull up I proceed to see 10 minutes of her breaking down crying. I do my normal bla bla Request music temp,.,, and she asks for Christian music; like there's a shame in her request --they are dealing with a person in their life meeting their potential end which is incomprehensible potentially on the person and depending on the relationship.
I hate Christian music but I also hate someone feeling like they cant request their preference especially if someone is dealing with a death.
You're providing a service and did the right thing. With my parents, I do the whole hand holding while praying even though they know I'm an atheist (I never pray anymore), because that's their culture. Like they say, there's a place and time for everything.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
If you're traveling to another part of the world, it's always a good idea to show respect by observing the local customs.
Which reminds me of this...

I find it petfectly accepable to refuse to play music promoting a blood cult.
