When we want to speculate in a sensefull manner on how the stories of our beloved inhabitants of Planetos unfold, i think the most promising method is to strictly go by the facts we have. The clues on path to truth, can be hidden or watered down between unreliable narrators, knowledge still hidden from the reader or even semantics. For years i was convinced that Tyrek has to be horse because that is our last piece of information we have about him. But the actual answer seems to be hidden in the careful and thoughtful wording George chose to make us think about this fan favourite. "Tyrek WAS!!!! last seen a horse." I really have read it wrong the whole time. He was! -> "was" in the english language is often used to refer to something that happened in the past, (it is known). To conclude this: in the present of the books Tyrek can be anyone by now. A different animal or maybe a board or something. We dont know, or do we ? Imagine another member of Tyreks Family asking his famous catchphrase:"Where do whores go?". Repeat it for 2 or 3 times in your head. Now compare only the sound of the word "horse" and "whores". They sound to similar for this to be pure coincidence. The quote was understood wrong the whole time and by now we can be sure that Tyrek is a whore! That is the last clue. If we assume that the answer to the question where whores go would ne nowhere, then also Tyrek would go nowhere as would his whole story and those of all the others because Wind will never be finished. Q.e.d

The problem is that no one would say the words “a whores” together like that. It doesn’t make sense.
Maybe they meant to say "Tyrek was last seen a'whoring" and misspoke.
I guess you have a point there, but what if and only if the guards reporting that Tyrek was last seen a horse where mumbling or to out of breath and so there was a missunderstanding that maid whore sound like horse. Maybe also a wanted missunderstanding because of the shame of a high born suddenly offering his "body services" after an uprising in flea bottom. Much cooler for the nobles if he just turned into a majestic horse.
