To add onto the lesbianism comment, it was quite literally impossible according to the ideas of sexuality at that moment to be a lesbian. Since women always took the passive, receiving role in sex, there could be no sex since there's no active person involved, or at least that's how the thought goes. That is also why sodomy laws are overwhelmingly limited to speaking about men, because why would you make laws about something that could not happen?
Also the conquistadors were almost all male, women were strongly disincentivized from going to the New World because of fears that they would have relationships (which amounten to getting raped in the thought of the time) with indigenous men.
