• How is your game not yet stuttering with that kind of population size and ships? Lol

it does stutter, especially after a long session. Even with an intel 14900k and rtx 5090.

To be honest that’s kinda sad to hear considering how optimized 1800 was. How much ram and what kind do you have?

    considering how optimized 1800 was

I invite you to play a super lategame Anno 1800 savegame with hardware from 2019 or older and make that claim again.

These super lategame saves are always lagging if you play with hardware that doesn't massively exceed the base demands of the game. In a few years when all of our PCs have caught up, 117 super lategame will also play decently and you will call it optimized.

Truth be told, i even feel with the devs here. I dont think many players really max out savegames like this, its a small minority. Most barely reach the point where everything is unlocked and maybe supplied before starting over. Optimizing for these intensive simulations is a lot of work for a small group of people and given time is limited, other things get priority.

100% agree, you can’t expect a smooth gameplay experience in late game. Devs have to choose middle grounds, how much time to spend optimizing vs new content, or, do we want really good textures, or do we want to have good performance. The right answer is somewhere in the middle

    Optimized?

Freaking Anno 1800 runs into flickering issues just because a simple list get clogged up so it has to dump graphical information and refill it again.

This happens when you add for example new horizons mod.

Don't ask me how the F adding another session, which isn't rendered except for when you are there, can cause graphical clitches in for example cape.

    That's Anno 1800 optimization.

You can't complain about optimization when a mod is the issue

This has nothing to do with the mod.

This happens in vanilla, mods like new horizon just makes it happen quicker.

There was a real possibility when they added the Continental Islands, that it would potentially be broken due to this issue.

1800 was also crap. They use the same engine either way

  • How is your fire safety so good? Mine was ok but then I built the library and it tanked.

    Specialists

I actually wasn’t using any specialists for fire but I used some, now I’m at +4k fire safety

  • Understandable crashout
