Because yes, obviously a weary and beaten down zombie just trying to do his job would try to unwind...with a lollipop.
I took the lollipop as a communication device from child emperor, ngl I feel like it fits
I thought it was cool detail for Zombie Man being the one who would thank Child Emperor for giving him a treat and taking care of the hostage.
The way I interpreted is that wanted some sugar for energy.
As if lack of animation wasn't enough to piss everyone off, they went all in with their censorship, neon filters, disco lights and ghosting.
On top of that, they are adapting all the pre-redraw chapters , like whyyy? Is the budget so low that JC Staff can't buy the official volumes? These changes will completely confuse the anime onlies as the story progresses.
It has become a shitpost meme than an official anime at this point.
Wow I didn’t realize the redraws happened this early, guess I’m gonna need to re-read from the start. Are the redraws still happening or would it be a good time to catch up?
I gave up on the chapter releases and switched to just waiting for the official english volumes last year, when the redraws and 15 page chapters kept coming even after the MA/Gyarou arc finished.
The english volumes are over 3.5 years behind the jp chapters, but still ahead of the anime, are better than the fan TLs, and they're not getting redrawn. Vol 32 comes out in the next day or two and ends just before the final fight of the arc, and Vol 34 coming maybe in october will finish the arc with a little epilogue.

Dialogue also has terrible delivery and the pacing is absolutely awful, which has nothing to do with the visuals, and I don't think we can blame the actors.
The show is just bad from every aspect. it's not just cheep but poorly done.
Yeah say what you want about budget and time constraints, but even the direction has had some very questionable choices, remember that garou episode where they kept replaying his theme? That's more shitty direction than anything.
Bang's theme for Amai Mask was bizarre.

Why did they even put the opening as the ending ? Like I understand putting opening song on epic last moment episode to boost the hype but to skip it for no apparent reason and just put it as it is in the ending with nothing different. What's even is the point ? I already see a lot of time the opening being cut because the anime can't stop the action in the beginning of the episode but here it just was bland no action moment.

That was the most disco filter heavy episode so far. Abysmal dogshit animation all around. I read it was completely outsourced to the chinese studio TripleA so no wonder they censored Zombieman and had him lick a lollipop lmao
Once again a fully outsourced episode delivers one of the weaker episodes of the season (in a season where literally only two episodes, three if we're being generous, actually stand out).

The bit is supposed to be that all these other S-class heroes who look cool and have cool powers and get into cool fights ultimately aren't strong enough to beat the big bads, so the generic boring looking Saitama who can win essentially effortlessly has to step in.

Atomic Samurai's disciples actually managed to defeat a Demon-level monster! Pretty impressive considering their strategy was just to run on pure instinct and slash Malong Hair's hair over and over.

Honestly I have to respect Do-S shooting her shot and being willing to let the Heroes go just to get in bed with Amai Mask. Too bad he hates monsters with a passionate zeal that would rival actual Monsters. I almost felt bad for her that he killed her like that after she straight up surrendered and robbed the world of her character design.
I love how they were all focused on how dangerous this guy is and they accidentally defeated him by just automatically slicing everything in front of them. Just like Atomic Samurai would do!

This arc is goated for those who read it. It's a real shame that it's been given this treatment because honestly it should be breaking the internet Solo Leveling/Demon slayer Style. The fights deserve that level of care and attention to detail.

They didnt even animate Iaian's arm or sword when fighting the combat suit guys. They just swapped between 2 frames of some white movement lines to make it barely look like an attack.
It really feels like they fired all the good animators from season 1 and 2 and hired some people who hate their jobs instead.
Zombieman is the coolest S Class I've seen so far (coolest to me anyways), and they straight up off screened all of his fighting

if we at least didn't have a season 3 at all we could hope for, one day, a good studio pick up and do it's thing
but now it's over, it's done and will be remembered as a shame
This episode looked like amateur animators tried really hard to make it seem like there was more frames and animation, but actually it's just a lot of back-and-forth and repetitive short sequences changing rapidly (and not smoothly). Like the bits that were "higher motion " don't actually look better, there's just more "movement" going on.
BY FAR the worst episode of them all. Tons of still frames, disco effects without any sense, the few animated shots were horrendous too (except Zombieman swinging his sword, that was neat). And I don't even want to talk about the retconned content and the many cuts.
It's just sad, thankfully the manga is amazing so we can easily forget this atrocious adaptation.

Zombieman's scenes always feels like he's filming his own show lol. He was looking good in that vest though, I'm glad they made him have to move around.
Amai Mask killing that force when the other three were trying to keep them alive is brutal. The feminine one falling for the long hair monster was amusing.
The episode was fast paced and there were a lot of fights, but overall it kind of felt dull to me.
That was a fun two week run of it being somewhat decent, back to being utter shite. They even did the 4Kids One Piece tribute with the lollipop. Only two more episodes to go, then another years long wait.

Literally, One Punch Man is one of the anime I watched when I was new to anime. It was the series that hooked me into the animeverse. But looking at its destruction now, I’m genuinely disappointed in the producers.

This sucks...the animation sucks, the music sucks, the villains suck and also talk waaaaaaaay too much, most of the heroes are fucking lame, the pacing is abysmal, the titular character appears every 4 episodes and does nothing, characters talk about shit nobody cares, the jokes fall flat 98% of the time, there are severe continuity errors, the characters are basically off-model all the time.
If you want good superheroes, watch MHA. If you want interesting villains, watch Demon Slayer. If you want interesting and cool powers, watch JJK. If you want an unlikely hero that's kinda pathetic but also funny, watch Chainsaw Man. And if you want good animation, any of those will do.
This is a waste of everyone's time, from the viewers to the studio.
As a non-manga reader, I can feel that there's a lot of great moments in this episode that got ruined by bad animation. Even the sound effects feels...off.
