If you look at the other shadows closely, you'll see that they point in a different direction than the apparent long shadow coming off the cube shaped thing.
In other words, the cube shaped thing is not casting a long shadow. It's an optical illusion.

i think it's an optical illusion and it's just like a dune type feature in the landscape, you can see a similar shape to the right of it, but lit from the other side, if a 100km^3 cube was sitting on the surface of the moon it would be pretty difficult to hide from the public
The whole thing is a shadow. Look at the other craters. The light source is coming from the bottom right. Wouldn't make sense if it were a protruding box.
the "cubes shadow" comes from a ridge on the surface, not the "cube" which itself is a shadow. the "shadow of the cube" would not align with the direction of the other shadows, which - additionally to a non cubed shadow shape - shows it does not belong to "the cube" (for that shadow light needs to come from total different direction)
Yes, I do. A Star Trek reference to a show I never watched but caught through pop culture. I love pictures of the moon, especially the ones I take through my telescope. I just always find it amazing what people interpret through pictures.
if that is correct, that object would be unbelievably massive, a skyscraper 50 stories high would look like a little pin from that distance, this thing is the size of Rhode Island
My friend, they’re using a dslr camera with a telescopic lense which absolutely has zoom. I do it with mine all the time when imagining the moon. You can tell it’s on a tripod the way it shakes when they adjust the camera after zooming. It was very familiar to me since I’ve seen it so many times in person with my rig.
Let's not forget that it must be motorized to compensate for the Earth's rotation. I've been using the telescope for years, and an object as close as the moon goes damn fast at those magnifications!
I agree. Initially I thought it looked like a cubic object casting a large shadow toward the lower left. But once you compare to shadows of the surrounding craters, you notice it’s in the wrong direction. I think what we’re seeing is a long ridge line casting a showdown towards the upper left (same as the craters).
At the very beginning of the video, the largest Crater in the middle with three smaller craters in it has an interesting shadow on the right side. It's just the shadow of the ridge at the end of the canyon, but if you use your imagination it kind of looks like an AT-AT. The "shadow" is cast in the wrong direction though, so you have to really be looking for something. I didn't realize what we were supposed to be looking at until the very end of the video
I've got a camera w 83x zoom and can see the moon clearer than this, and I have never seen that black object or anything that even looks similar before
If that were a real object, it's shadow is pointing the wrong way. It's probably just some odd geography and shadows causing pareidolia (if it's not just a fake video).
Or it's a shadow from the edge of a crater but sure if you need to make yourself believe something for whatever reason to keep you all warm and fuzzy you go right ahead.

Where’s the damned red circle when you actually need it!?
It's the square shaped box thing at the last 36 seconds
the last 36 seconds? its there right at the beginning

THE BORG!! THEY’RE HERE!! RUN FOR YOU LIFE!!
OH DEAR GOD IT'S A SHADOW! GO TO DEFCON 1
It's an outhouse
all the shadows in the craters are being cast up and to the left.
I have no idea what it is or isn't, but if it is a shadow, its going the wrong way.
Where?
I think it that big black box just sitting there.
Menacingly.
For those still looking, it’s this cube shaped thing, casting a long shadow.
https://preview.redd.it/9z01n12xbo9g1.jpeg?width=1312&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5f8a9eff36fb045ff23d79f1a7245d7ddb7910a
EDIT: But if you look at the surrounding terrain, you can see that the shadow is part of a large crater.
Oh yes, that’s aliens.
Debate settled, nothing more to say.
If you look at the other shadows closely, you'll see that they point in a different direction than the apparent long shadow coming off the cube shaped thing.

That is also casting a shadow
A shadow on the opposite side of all other shadows visible in the shot ?
Is that because the shadows on the right are lower in the craters and the one on the left from the box is above ground?
Source of light is the right side.
No other shadows…
It’s not a box lol it’s just the edge of a crater, it’s very clear.
Yeah, I think you’re right. The whole thing is just part of the shadow on that large crater.
If you look at some of the other carters they have the same pattern.
That thing is resolvable to the curve of the horizon. Ball park the size of a small state.
Yeah that's definalty an optical illusion or every amature astronomer with a walmart quality telescope is in on the cover up.

Wrong

Exacrly. The cubes shadow doesnt have the same angle as every other shadow. Its a cool optical illusion though.
What a compelling argument...
I'm not seeing a black box
The last 40 secs it’s easier to see when it’s zoomed in.
(Europe)
On the moon lol
Seriously though, pause at 3:20 and watch in the bottom left. It's the big black cube with a shadow.
It’s not a big black cube, it’s the shadow on the edge of a crater. I had to try really hard to ignore the crater and see the “box”.
Riiiight. Wrong my dude. Try again. Cube with a long shadow. The shadow falls into a crater on the opposite end from the base of the cube though.

Well thank God you posted this then

Enhance!
Hey Farva what’s the name of that restaurant you like with all that stupid $hit on the walls?
Shenanigans?
❤️You know we can't actually do that?
Yes, I do. A Star Trek reference to a show I never watched but caught through pop culture. I love pictures of the moon, especially the ones I take through my telescope. I just always find it amazing what people interpret through pictures.
Tbh I thought it was a crime procedural show reference like Criminal Minds or CSI.
I thought he was quoting super troopers
Lol I thought you were quoting The House of Usher series when the guy asks "Enhance"
It was meant as a joke. Reddit is so odd sometimes. Sorry.
Those Samsung phones seem to do it fairly well. lol
that structure would have to be so huge to see it from a telescope
if that is correct, that object would be unbelievably massive, a skyscraper 50 stories high would look like a little pin from that distance, this thing is the size of Rhode Island
Is the object on the moon with us right now?
The object is the moon
Don't be surprised.
I hate that I knew I'd see this comment
This is hilarious.
I think it is a blocky crater and some shadows.

They clearly blurred out the square shaped next to the crater bottom right. Corresponds to the video building
Can someone circle the thing I’m supposed to see and repost?
The building red outline and the shadow yellow outline

Thx for sharing your knowledge - this is the cool part of Reddit

lol what? No. Just no.
Well, their 2nd point is true. This is, literally nothing.

Massive object? What, the crater and shadow? You see the same type of shadows throughout the video

All the shadows are casting toward the bottom left of the image even the 3 craters go check again.

Government next year: yea aliens have been here forever. Everyone’s always known that.
Ive spent a very large portion of my life looking through telescopes. I don’t see any anomalies in this video
Its best seen at about a third of the way into the video, for those who cant see it. Its a black cube shape with shadow pointing to the left
https://preview.redd.it/v76g48us1m9g1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f06544d5f31e8f926ec17724039ced9bd80b82c0
Moon pimple. I used to get a lot of those in adolescence - thankfully I avoided the scarring but this guy in the video has it pretty bad.
Its required by the moons insurance provider.
We all know this is a tardis right
It is our all time favourite Doctor, saving the Planet once again.
We are the Borg.
There’s nothing bud.
This is a great video
If that were a real object, it's shadow is pointing the wrong way. It's probably just some odd geography and shadows causing pareidolia (if it's not just a fake video).
But all the shadows are casting towards the bottom left of the image
The shadows and highlights in all of the craters and the terminator on the moon all show the light coming from lower right corner.
That object and it's shadow are just from the rim of that large crater.
Where in this video is what ever we are looking for and what is it i have watched and dont see anything
Great, a borg cube landed on the moon. Now in waiting for the "resistance is futile" message.
Is Rigelians from rigel

Tardis
Find Moon's Clavius Crater and you find the Ridge....
Pretty sure if they had better colour, it’d be blue with Police Box written above the door
I mean ... what more proof do you need eh?
Come on guys. There's only one thing in the video that is casting a shadow and is not a crater.
Moon Kaaba
Is this the one where a craft comes out of a crater looks similar can someone link
Looks weird
What's King Kong doing over there?
soooo uhhh, what the hell is that thing? cause that sure as shit ain't no crater or volcano
Looks very cube like in shape and has a darker color, and seems mildly out of place.
the shadow that is casted makes this pretty spooky
There is a black tower that casts a shadow look like the doctor who box. But it would be huge if on the moon.
Serious telescope ? What does that mean?
https://preview.redd.it/1j203mvvjl9g1.png?width=805&format=png&auto=webp&s=72dac4c9e946e2700f0dc20550c6951bb31cdd2a
I'm sorry, but could you possibly explain what this is showing?
Or it's a shadow from the edge of a crater but sure if you need to make yourself believe something for whatever reason to keep you all warm and fuzzy you go right ahead.
Dont worry, it's just The Tardis.
Resistance is futile.
Yes, Dr Who has to go live on the moon for 1 month a year to avoid taxes.
Ahh yes I too see the big nothing
I'm going with undifferitiated on this one for me, but definitely not ruling out any and all possibilities...
Well that was a waste of my life
Moons haunted
If this is real it can be reproduced. Has it been?
A Borg cube, looks like the Borg have arrived in sector 001.
Soul catcher?
Is that the Pandoricum?

You can see it here as well.
Is that supposed to be The White House, or a tent? I believe both about the same, so... Yeah
