I’m in Chattanooga, Tn and I saw this tonight (not in a line but like flickers back and forth for about two mins ) edited to add time : around 8:20 pm EST.
I’ve seen those at the local stadium, but this doesn’t seem like that. It would be interesting to see a 360 of this scene. To see it coming from the other direction as he states in the video. I would find it hard for a spotlight to reach that far into the horizon and this camera not be able to see the source, IF it was a spotlight.

I have also worked on movie sets and while there are fast follow spots and lighting effects lights, this is not them. You are factually incorrect in your assumptions. Where is the point of light coming from that is over their heads? You would see a beam under them in that cloud cover.
This guy is correct you always see the light shaft of a normal spot light. These are just light in the clouds racing around they have been doing this at least last year maybe the year before in the EU and probably other places.

I saw two white streaks in the sky over Christchurch, NZ between 2 and 3am Friday morning. Traveling east to west. I thought they were probably just meteorites. Two thin sharp white lines.

Could easily be lights used for an event. It's the holiday season so I wont be surprised. The telltale signs that point that way is much each line of light follow the exact same path on the night sky with almost an identical spacing between them (from left to right)
So, what were the lights heading towards? Anything noteworthy? Any wide open spaces? Any military installations? I'm no expert but imo these are not spotlights, they are travelling.

I definitely saw spotlights last night in PHX. They were very obviously spotlights to any body who has every been within a mile of a movie theater

The speed has nothing to do with relativity and everything to do with the dexterity of the motion controlled mount for the spotlights.
