Yes and it’s why I don’t recommend anyone go down the same money pit I did with mine. Since getting it built by BSD last year it’s needed to be fixed again due to poor quality parts like the striker rod and firing pin.
Not sure about OPs but I dont think all of them are necessarily blank firing kits from what i understand, but not real VSS' either. Molot Arms isnt the same Molot as RPKs, VEPRs, etc. The real VSS are made by Tula anyways, and they do make civilian versions, but most if not all of the kits in the US are Molot Arms. They look the part on the outside but are very different from a real VSS internally.
Not to shit on OP or the build, still looks baller and its as close as you'll ever get in the US, but you're paying thousands upon thousands for something almost equivalent a PSA "clone" imho.
All the ones in the U.S. are Molot Arms kits all of them started life as 7.62 blank fire rifles. We can’t get Tula or OG kits in (aside from 2 that I know of coming from Ukraine).
You can't get them in legally from Ukraine either. They'd have to sit in a third party non import restricted nation for 5 years. And even then they would be import banned.
This gun is sick and a dream gun of mine but I cant help but think whenever I see videos of it being used in ukraine how outmatched in firepower the user of this weapon would be against someone with an M4 or AK in 5.45

Now you just gotta get one of the 7.62x39 ones that molot makes and you can save some money at the range. Super easy solution.

It’s max range is like 150m the 245-278gr bullets drop like a brick it’s a horrible DMR lol
