Hello,
On the 25th I will be traveling to spend the holidays with my family and I want to take a small gift for flight attendants and pilots!
So my question is, is a starbucks gift card good or is an amazon gift card a better option? It wouldn’t be much ($5/$10) due to a tight budget, but I still think it would be a nice gesture.
I appreciate your comments.
This is really thoughtful! Any small gesture is greatly appreciated. You could do half Starbucks and half Amazon gift cards?
Feel free to share/DM me your flight info and I can confirm the number of pilots and flight attendants on the flight for you.
Chocolates are lovely once in a while, but it’s probably the most common gift we receive and I think many of us quickly reach our chocolate quota for the season 😅.
Sent you a DM as I am thinking of doing the same thing as OP for an upcoming flight!
Well I am never doing chocolates again 😱
I’ll only do chocolate fudge a couple times a year but I’m also crew so I will make sure that the operating crew is at least going to be on a layover so they have a nice treat for the hotel or after dinner.
We never ever expect anything from passengers other than compliance with safety instructions but I know a small Starbucks card for the mornings coffee has certainly made a few people’s pairings a little brighter.
FA here (working on Christmas). Any gift is so kind of you! You’re so sweet and having lovely passengers like you makes my job one of the best ever! I love Starbucks cards because I order my drinks in the app to avoid the long lines at the airport. Any amount is more than generous. And any type of card is perfect. I also love chocolate, and it truly is the thought that makes our day special… so, I’m basically saying you cannot go wrong… Have a wonderful holiday! You’re awesome!
Either is fine. But chocolates are much easier to share since you may not have the exact right number of gift cards for the whole crew. At holiday I usually bring two boxes of chocolates and give them to the service director and ask them to share
Generally on long hauls, I’ll bring a bag or two of chocolates and biscuits that I can grab either locally or at duty free and hand them to the crew.
It’s always a nice gesture and especially when it’s a long flight they’ll appreciate it.
A visa gift card would be better. Then they can spend it as they see fit.
Well since a senior flight attendant can make around 90k a year , plus expenses and a senior captain makes 375.00 , I’ll let you decide
Does their choice of a well-paying job makes them less deserving of a small gift?
They could make triple of that and it would still be a nice gesture. They are working while I’m on vacation, so…
Think of the juniors too. They dont make much.
However, their pay has nothing to do with the OP trying to do something nice in the Christmas spirit.
