Hey all - some of you have expressed frustrations with respect to the numerous threads created whereby posters ask for advice on what meals to choose.
In an effort to cut down on these posts, we will be referring people to this megathread on a trial basis, potentially for permanent adoption. Unfortunately, with reddit not acting like traditional forums by bumping threads to the top whenever a new comment is made, there isn't really a great solution we can offer aside from this.
We would certainly appreciate if people could post/review their meals as well, to keep the thread somewhat active.
Appreciate the understanding - thanks.
Omelet is a solid 6/10 but every other breakfast option I’ve tried was worse. Chia seed pudding has an honorary mention.
Butter chicken 8/10
Chow mein 7/10
Jerk chicken 8/10
Anything beef 4/10 or below just because plane food is always overcooked
I miss the frittata.
Might I suggest including the class of service (Signature/business, premium economy, economy) and route on your reviews?
Some meal options can be significantly better/worse depending on where it’s catered out of. For example, the butter chicken from Canada is decent, but not so great from some overseas stations I’ve tried.
How else will I tell the internet I'm flying business class??
Exactly! I'm a J flyer in J class..how many J creams and J sugars should I get in my J coffee? Does anyone else J?
Braised beef cheeks - ended up getting these due to no other choices remaining, and was pleasantly surprised. They were really tender. Flavour as per usual for any other beef dish. A solid 9/10.
Parsley omelet - I don't see what the craze is, then again, I'm not really a breakfast person. Bland and uninspiring, but sometimes the lesser of the evils. 5/10.
Pancakes - hot and mushy. Not much else to say. Sometimes acceptable if you are craving something sweet for breakfast. 4/10.
Black cod - I think people have had more luck than me, but they overcooked this to hell, and it was almost crispy in parts. 1/10.
Mushroom risotto - also was super mushy and overcooked when I had it, almost to the consistency of hot instant oats. 2/10.
... will update more when I remember what I've had.
Champagne- the Laurent Perrier was better than the Duval Leroy, but after 4 glasses I usually forget about food. 11/10.
Absolutely. LP was the shit. I'm very sad they changed. Although they still serve it in the signature suite.

HNML Out of YVR last week, 8/10. Was tired of the standard options and rolled the dice with this.
VLML out of YVR, Mainline. 7.7/10. Pasta was perfectly servicable, fruit and salad were standard. Tired of the chicken and "standard" pasta offering and rolled the dice, and got.... ravioli pasta

Bonus stick tap to the crew that was dressed up for Halloween and in good spirits, despite the miserable weather out.

Which meal is the best option? None of them are jumping out for me.
SHORT RIB RAGU WITH PACCHERI PASTA Topped with fresh parmesan cheese
PRETZEL-FILLED CHICKEN Menu Item Icon Spicy Served with roasted carrots, green beans and turkey bacon
SALMON TERIYAKI Wasabi mousseline, broccoli and corn
SPINACH AND RICOTTA CRESPELLE Menu Item Icon Vegetarian Filled Italian crêpes served with creamy tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and parmesan cheese
What did you end up choosing? Any recommendations? Facing the same dilemma in a week

I wouldn’t recommend the pretzel stuffed chicken. I regret not choosing the salmon. That was the most popular choice.
Can confirm Salmon was delicious
Chicken Marsala 7/10

The Japanese Meal and the sake served is exquisite.
This one?

Any recommendation amongst these three? I didn’t see any reviews/pics in searching
Chickens not bad, pomodoro is pretty standard. Gonna guess you're flying in or out of YVR, this is my exact menu this week haha
Yes it was a CRJ into YVR from SAN. Menu coming the other way (on a 737) was different.
Also curious about the sweet and sour pork
8/10 for sweet and sour pork. It definitely surpassed my expectations.
I had it last week too and enjoyed it, the rice was mushy, but the pork and veggies with the sauce were quite good.
I mean we’re talking 8/10 in the realm of airline food. I have very low expectations but the parsley omelette is a solid 5/10 for me. But I also don’t like airline eggs, period
I had the lasagna. It was plain but fine - non offensive.

I just picked veg meal today for my flight in 2 weeks 🫨
I had it before, it was fine. It's not the tastiest thing but I had no issue with it. I wouldn't worry about it.
Just had the butter chicken on my flight to LHR. The chicken and sauce were great but the rice was hard.
Skip the Cherry Tart at breakfast, it was simultaneously the most bland yet sour, disappointing yet mediocre meal I've had in a long, long time.

Thoughts on the menu? Slow Braised Beef seems enticing?
Anyone tried the premium Econobmy meals for October to Japan. Choices were chicken teriyaki or pork don. Chose one of each to be safe

Any Reccomendations for these options?
Probably too late but butter chicken has been pretty reliable
MTL-BRU
Mains/Slow Braised Beef/Tomato demi-glace, garlic pappardelle pasta, broccoli and sweet cherry tomato
[4/10 - overall dry and not tender]
Curious if anyone has tried any of these meals and if they have any feedback on which would be best.

Also curious about feedback in this one for the return flight.

Have this selection coming up. Frankly not sure I like any of it. Wondering if anyone here has tried the special meals. Was thinking either the kosher or gluten sensitive. Any experiences?
Hey all. First time flying business class with AirCanada (business class in general is a first, it’s our honeymoon) going from YVR to MNL, the options I saw on the menu for our upcoming flight are the lamb shank, coq au vin chicken, rainbow trout, pork adobo. Any things to avoid or any favorites? Also any tips are appreciated!
My top contenders were the lamb shank and the coq au vin.
I generally avoid fish on flights—the repeated reheating tends to dry it out, and there’s often a wide gap in quality depending on the seafood source. I also typically steer clear of chicken in economy, since even minor mishandling or poor preparation can lead to serious discomfort.
Braised or slow-cooked dishes usually hold up best to the reheating process and to the dry cabin air. I would have gone with the lamb shank (I’ve had beef stew on a previous business class flight and it held up well), but the coq au vin was listed as the chef’s signature dish, so I chose that instead.
How did the coq au vin go?
It was decent but wasn’t a huge fan of it. I’d try lamb shank next time. The sauce felt like it had too much tomato.
Some sort of tofu something. Rolled the dice with the VLML. Smelled great. Tasted ok. 6.1/10 Thai coconut maybe ?

I have these choices on PE going from YYC to LHR next week:
Honey Ginger Sesame Chicken Shandong flat noodles, carrots, bok choy and edamame
Traditional Beef Shepherd’s Pie Garnished with toasted breadcrumbs
I know the advice is generally to avoid the chicken, but I’d rate the chicken in PE on my MUC – YYZ flight last week as 7/10, and surprisingly tasty. I didn’t know what the dish was called because it was just given to me as I was told they were out of the pasta option.
I’ve had the honey ginger sesame chicken on multiple occasions and generally really like it. Had it last week and it was overcooked (though no fault of the crew as we hit severe extended turbulence while it was being reheated). Absent that issue, I’d definitely recommend it.
Another vote for the sesame chicken + shandong noodles.
I didn't have super high expectations, but it was actually quite tasty.
I’m curious if anyone has opinions about this selection of meals in North American business class:
Chicken Marsala
Salmon with sauce vierge
Braised pork Milanese
Gnocchi pomodoro
Sweet and sour pork
Sweet and sour pork was decent on my flight last week and my wife dislikes the gnocchi

Anyone tried these options? Don't recall having any of them. Much appreciated.
