The fandom of half life were certain half life 3 would be announced on the game Award. The night of the event, the host presented a lot of new game but not half life 3. Then towards the end there was a moment of hype and drammatic effect. Everybody thought it was half life 3, but instead it was Megaman.

Half Life 3 will be announced on the same day as Ragnarök and the Apocalypse. Just my opinionated prediction.
