  • They’re already down a few bucks for the ridiculous sticker

  • And we’re being told that tariffs aren’t even fully priced in yet for some items due to stockpiling ahead of their effective dates.

Durable goods that can sit in warehouses for some time before making it to retail might still go up in price.

Plus companies are eating them to avoid massive price increases

Some of them are, yes. But the small businesses that can't afford to do so are having to close. As someone who has always tried to buy local, I've lost several of my go-to retailers already. That's scaring me. We're contractors and the tariffs affect us considerably when it comes to materials. We've had clients cancel their projects when the material bill went up 15-20%. We're looking for recession proof jobs right now.

Yes. It's crumbling. Most cannot afford to keep going like this for long. That's why inflation was been ticking back up.

I was super excited about Kamala's plan to finally do something about corporate price gouging. It was glaringly evident after COVID, and I was like, "FINALLY!". We have to reexamine capitalism. We've let it go unregulated and it's unsustainable this way. The "Big Beautiful Bill 🤮" helped to transfer even more wealth from the bottom to the top and that's only sped up the process. I didn't think I'd live to see the collapse, but I wasn't counting on all that.

If this was happening in a different country, I'd be wondering how the people were managing it.

What part of capitalism do you think is unregulated?

Price gouging for one. I'd also like to see regulations on the incomes. Something like the top earner can only make a certain percentage more than the bottom earner. We have almost no regulations compared to other capitalist countries. Some industries, like health and power, need much more regulation since they're necessary. I don't think anyone would argue that customer service and quality suffer when profits and stockholders are the priority. There's simply no reason we can't change things and everyone be happy. There's a diminishing return when it comes to wealth. For instance, happiness doesn't increase anymore after you have enough money to do anything you want.

Also we don't regulate corporations when it comes to politics enough. Corporate lobbyists and donations to political parties should be banned totally. Clearly that's not been beneficial to anyone but the richest.

There is so much we should be doing, but any time legislation comes around, it's shut down by corporate money and (usually) Republicans who for some reason still think the trickle down theory is feasible. We've done it this way for long enough to know what it gets us, it's time for some honest debate and we need to make sure the powers that be aren't influenced by anyone other than their constituents.

When you look at the countries with the best rate of happiness and life satisfaction, they're much more regulated than we are and if everyone, even the richest among them, are happier then seems like we ought to be borrowing some of the legislation they have that made it such a great place to live.

I heard all my life about how bad universal healthcare is and how I'd never want to live in one of those countries. But as grew up and started traveling, I realize that's just something we say here so we don't know what we're missing. I keep thinking that we'll finally get some of these issues fixed since we now have an example in the White House of the worst that can happen in our current system. At least I hope it's the worst.

Just a side note on healthcare; the US Gov currently spends more per capita than any other country on healthcare.

You have a tonne of healthcare subsidy programs but because the US refuses to bargain collectively, the prices you pay for basic medicines like IV drips are often 10-15x higher than other countries. So those subsidy programs cost way more while still costing citizens at point of use.

Look at profits for Fortune 500 companies for pre, during, and post Covid. Somehow they almost all made record profits…not sales…and this is evident of price gouging and ‘blaming’ Covid due to supply chains. It would have been nice if they took a hit a little while we were all going through some weird shit, even if they just shifted increased cost to the final product. Instead, they gouged us for every nickel they could. It’s pure capitalism and legal but regulations could have at least curbed it. There are many current laws in place for this and one example would be when a hurricane is coming in it is illegal for a company to skyrocket prices on plywood, sand bags, gas, etc. because it’s an emergency situation. A lot of companies/corporations took advantage of all of us in a situation that none of us had anything to do with nor could we just simply ‘choose to spend/not spend our dollars’.

    Are they?

    Yes.

Between that and the nonexistent inflation, we're all making money just by shopping!

    /S

Everyone is in for a rude awakening in January. I manage inventory for a dealership that sells residential lawn equipment, Powersports, and commercial agriculture equipment. All of these manufactures hedged on the tairrifs by bringing in excess inventory in early 2025 as well as eating into their own profits. Unless there is a quick ruling by the SC that the tariffs have been illegal, our OEMS are planning on 5%-15% price increases on machines on January 1st.

Or those that are placating Orange Jesus and not raising prices, yet

Yeah, but at least healthcare cost aren't going up too much.

    Lol fucking lol

Can't tell if youre joking or if you're just really fucking dense.

“At the end of this year, those extended Obamacare subsidies expire,” said a reporter. “What’s your message to those 24 million Americans who will see their insurance premiums go up— ”

“Well, don’t make it sound so bad,” Trump interrupted, “because obviously, you’re a sycophant for Democrats. You’re obviously a provider of bad news for Republicans.” He went on to call Obamacare “horrible health insurance,” accusing Democrats of being “totally controlled by insurance companies.”

“I want to see the billions of dollars go to the people, not the insurance companies,” the president continued. “I want to see the people go out and buy themselves great healthcare. Much better healthcare at very little cost.”

After Trump first touted this idea to “give the money to the people to buy their own healthcare” in early November, one reporter asked, “Won’t Americans buy it from insurance companies?”

He still doesn't know what Healthcare is and how it works. Mr "2 weeks from now" still has no plan. And the Republicans plan is to make things more expensive

    Republicans Healthcare plan

    Step 1: repeal Obamacare

Step 2: reminder to come up with a plan in 2 weeks

This was actually what I was referencing. Now I have to wonder if the downvotes were from people too dumb to understand from context when a comment is meant sarcastically, or from people who support Trump's idea.

Might even be a mix of both...

Tbf it is generally known to put /s in case of sarcasm because you can't know for sure otherwise. Doesn't necessarily make the people dumb or MAGA (which is the same anyway) if they misunderstand

I'm sorry, but taking my comment as serious when taking the comment I replied to into consideration shows a severe lack of critical thinking skills.

If there was any serious ambiguity I'd agree with your statement.

But anyone who actually wondered for more than two seconds if my comment was serious, should seriously ask themselves whether they are ready for the grown up world.

I think you underestimate how delusional maga are. They could absolutely say what you said without a hint of irony

Everyone ALWAYS understands sarcasm on the Internet. /s

I see where you're coming from. I am progressive and smart and don't lack critical thinking skills. And still I find it sometimes difficult to detect written sarcasm myself without the tag. Doesn't make me dumb or anything.

I'm sure there are cases where it's difficult to see, but anyone serious would not have picked the one subject everyone, left to right agrees on is going to rise next year.

The /s is a tool for when a comment might be reasonably construed as serious. Using it on an obviously sarcastic post is like putting a 'do not use under running water' label on a blow dryer.

We need to keep people thinking for themselves, that's the only way we survive this war on education the right is waging. And if we accomodat people too lazy to apply even the slightest amount of critical thinking, then we're just creating more potentiol MAGA followers.

I legitimately know people who are earnestly in the belief that any claimed price increase is a product of a democratic smear campaign. I have interacted with people on this website who think that. Your post claiming to be making a sarcastic remark is the same writing and wording they argue with. So no, the tool /s is purely to indicate in writing where tone and inflection are missing to indicate a joke from an earnest opinion. To call people dense because they are asking for transparency of your intentions in a medium where intention is masked by interpretation is ridiculous.

The vast majority of ppl are incredibly stupid so take that into account and just use the /s

You gotta love how everyone is telling him why he was downvoted because of the missing /s and instead of fixing it he doubles down and acts like everyone else is the problem.

Nah it doesn't. Magats will say exactly what you said with 100% sincerity. It's on you to make it clear, especially since we lack facial and tone clues online.

Guarantee you it was people not realizing the sarcasm. You really need to always put /s after sarcasm now. It's not that people can't tell the difference anymore. It's that people are really that dumb and eating propaganda... I figured your comment was probably sarcasm, but there are literally people who would post that without realizing how wrong they are. Didn't confirm which until I read further down and saw your other comments.

“Mix of both” is why it’s become hard to tell when someone is being sarcastic these days. Ideas we once thought were too absurd to be real have become commonly held beliefs.

  • Pathetic how that just had to lower the flag and funnel photographers in front of him during an active shooting for that shot

It was amazing how they were letting him stand straight up with an active shooter in the area.. and the photographers were right there to capture everything. People died for this staged event..

100%. Just like everything else this administration does. It’s all good-plated facade with no real substance. Which you’d think ANYONE would expect from a reality TV star, but no….they probably believe the Pro Wrestling storylines are real too 🙄

He wasnt scared. Lol the bullet was real do you think it didnt happen? I hope you dont believe in the reptilian conspiracy. All people like you do is down vote people who dont agree with you. Then youd better. I swear you have a crush on Trump :)

Why didn't the secret service agents cover him and get him off stage? Instead They let him stand up several times for the photographer to get pictures and film what was going on.. Explain the handler putting those photographers the correct spot to get those pictures without fear of also being shot.. The bullet was real to the poor guy that got killed to stage this. I swear you are in trump's cult and can't see the truth.

Definitely a photo op, look how his hand lines up to the wire holding the flag. Manufactured silliness.

  • Saw a DOGE sticker still on a truck window. Keeping the idiots in plain sight

Yes! I was getting so tired of the political signs in people's yards until I realized that they were clearly labeling the houses to avoid. It is a time saver when someone has the maga uniform on - avoid at all costs.

Friday I saw an SUV on the freeway with the license plate DJTDOGE. I laughed out loud.

  • I love how Trump fails at everything he does now

    Now?

To be fair he does have a 2/3 success rate at becoming president.

Being voted into office and successfully fulfilling the duties of said office are not the same thing.

So? He is their cult leader. That's it.

That’s just an example of how many stupid people live in America more than anything

Even his Faga hates him too

Not all. There are still tons who would lick the sack given the chance... He's not wrong when he said he could murder somebody on times square and get away with it or however the heck he phrased it... There was far more self promotion and congratulating in it.

    Trump is still a crybaby

Can't deny that statement. He just needs his binky and a pacifier

That fails to account for his previous attempts at running in the 80s and 90s. Hes more like 2*/5

Pretty sure he's being failing upwards his entire life.

it's super easy to do when you're born to rich parents. it would be hard to completely screw that up but he sure tried hard

    He's a pathetic loser

  • 20 to 40% God these ingrates are brain dead.

    They went from

    “Everything cheaper under Trump! ”

    to

“Short term pain long term gain 🥴”

    real fast

“Short term”. Wait until they find out how long the damage will actually last.

Yeah even if someone responsible took power tomorrow it would still take a generation at minimum to undue the damage, at least from an economic/financial perspective.

To say nothing of the loss of trust with our allies on the international stage

no kidding. under the best circumstances, no one is hitting those numbers.

  • How humiliating would it be to admit being wrong about him *now*.

It’s a significant part of the slavish devotion to that turd.

This would be like saying, "Yes, there are five lights"

  • Pretty sure that having good portion of their navy blasting small fishing (maybe smuggling) boats with missiles worth more than the average American health care is doing its bit too.

There is not a groundswell of enthusiasm for a 90000 sq/ ft ball room.

  • "JOIN THE CULT! DRINK THE KOOL-AID! BELIEVE THE FAKE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT!"

Only if Jim Jones is making the entire batch. Oh, too soon?

  • Honestly, I’m surprised it doesn’t say “Save 300%”. Supporters somehow believe everything Trump says, even when it´s mathematically impossible

  • Down 1000% or 2000% or 5000%. Its awesome. Plus our doge and tariff checks should arrive soon

  • Please keep advertising then I know who to avoid.

  • they're still waiting on that trump phone they bought 🤣🤣

  • So much winning!

They will just say it would have been worse under Bisen 2.0.

Yeah, those idiotic tariffs had nothing to do with it...

  • These people would let Trump fuck their kids in front of the rest of their family just to “own the libs”. Damn pathetic.

  • Probably 400% - 700%... Maybe even up to 1200% on some things

  • I can only wish them bankruptcy and starvation post bankruptcy from medical debt

  • Mental midgets.

  • Y'all tired of winning yet?

    Is America Great Again yet?

No, there's still too many minorities. /s

  • When I see these stickers I draw swastikas on them with my sharpie.

  • 7000% according to their supreme clown

  • They could have saved more by switching to GEICO.

  • Since it's December 12, 2025, -90% saved.

  • Saved them from having to think.

    Libs owned again.

    You’re welcome.

  • With Trumps math, they shoukd be down 500%

  • Those "You could save..." Stickers started showing up pretty much a week after Biden was inaugurated.

  • This was when the groypers thought they wouldn't miss....

  • A guy I worked with used to say this. He and his Totally Not A Golddigger girlfriend, were super Maga. Then she got covid while pregnant. It didn't end well. Last I heard they're still Maga, and somewhat low key antivax.

  • Where are my sneakers?

  • "Puzzle me this, how'd that asshole grow his ear back?" - Vincent Van Gogh

  • Think of the money they'll save when they try to host a party and no one shows up st these miserable fucks' home because of these views.

  • These people are seriously so fucking stupid. Things do not get cheaper. They certainly don't get 20-40% cheaper for fucks sake. Why do they believe this shit? The best we can ever hope for is low inflation, which we had under Biden, but people would rather vote for someone who promises the moon than someone who's honest.

  • I have in fact in the last year, spent more on food and drinks than I did in 2024, MAGAts are so braindead.

  • Dunno but they're saving at least my wife's salary and whatever they were paying for our health insurance.

  • Wait...are they actually admitting tRump is a lizard?

They can wish, but he will never be one of us. We prefer lizards who don't crap their pants and pretend to have bone spurs.

  • there was a Jordan Klepper bit on The Daily Show (when he used to go to Trump rallies and ask questions) where he interviewed a guy in head to toe MAGA gear who was complaining about how he couldn't afford things like food, mortgage etc.

naturally, Klepper asked him about how much his gear cost, and then asked him if the total might have paid for groceries...

  • i love those stickers lol what

  • I have saved a lot because im good at saving..

You're losing money in savings when your interest rate (APY) is lower than the inflation rate.

  • Trump has inflation at 3%. Biden had it up to 8 -9% for multiple years, so yea. Doing better in that regard.

Trump refuses to put the numbers out so he can just tell you how great he’s doing

  • Pepe looks svelte

  • I don’t know, but I’m sure it’s a negative number ( Lost more than saved. )

  • Eggs are down milk is down gas is down….what the hell are you buying?

  • This sub kind of turned into just "trump hypocrite" stuff. Not everyone is American and it's getting kind of tired

You might not be American but Trump can still do something stupid that could affect your country / you. He can't go a day without screwing over someone.

I assure you, we're tired of it, too. But this is our reality and we're all coping with it the best we can.
