Hilton Garden Inn
In case you are interested, there is also a full walkthrough video right here!!
This part of the country has been deemed a high growth area and has already begun this transition. It is considered a city centre and due to its proximity to two highways, a major subway system and rapid transit services it will continue to grow. With a number of condo highrises already occupied, there are three more planned for this very site.
This Hilton Garden Inn hotel was built in 2006 and it was closed for only 3 weeks before my visit. They didn't waste any time getting to work on this one, they began the demolition process the day after its closure. Today, the site has been completely leveled and they have presumably already broken ground on the new buildings.
With everything left behind in this hotel, it was quite an enjoyable explore. The hotel featured a pool with waterslide and a hot tub, they had 9000 square feet of conference room space and a huge lobby with both a restaurant and a breakfast area. It just amazes me that a hotel that is less than 20 years old can be demolished so soon.
Jesus Jones approves.
came here for this.
Ok - I'm a diehard Jesus Jones fan but totally didn't get that reference. Please explain so I can convince myself that I'm still a fan.
You didn't see picture #6?
LOL. Totally missed that photo. That’s funny.

Vaughan, Ontario in case anyone was wondering. I assume this is OK because it's gone now.
That’s a lot of damage for only being closed for three weeks.
They started demolition like 2 weeks after it closed
Yeah, a lot of dust & damage that doesn't look like demolition to me
I was going to guess 2010 from that thick flat screen tv as well... but maybe it was already old when it shut down
So they built a new hotel on the same lot?
I had heard long time ago that Hilton made a business plan to turn hotels like this into senior living housing.
Sometimes creative destruction is an alarming process (to me, anyway.)
The chandeliers! Wow!
is that the pool from the movie Constantine
I didn't see where this is located. The hotel looks like it has wonderful rooms, just needs some updating.
Hilton is worth billions, so why don't they put funds into refurbishing one hotel?
it’s been demolished to build housing! ❤️
That's good to hear!
Hopefully well-built condos and not shoddy investor bait
Read the caption under the pictures
Can you circle in the caption where it says it's located? It doesn't even say so in the YouTube description, just the same caption as here. Almost as if it's a bot.
Ontario, Canada
All the unhoused people in the OC and this place sits empty.
Did you read? It was quickly demolished to make way for more housing.
Missed that. Really, what Orange County needs is not more housing for the rich.
this is in Canada
While I agree, I don't think this is in OC? I grew up in Orange county and it doesn't look familiar. Maybe in Anaheim I guess
Bot replier. Dont interact.
Appreciate the heads up, didn't scrub their account.
Ontario, Canada
I saw the chefs jacket and the Canadian flag, but wasn't sure if that just indicated where he was originally from.
american way of life
Canadians don’t like being called Americans.
American-lites
I don't blame them in the least, but technically.. they are
Awesome looking place no security or cameras ? Seems like it should be still valuable
Hey! That’s where I left my chef’s jacket!
