So the show has been teasing since the pilot episode that all the Yellowjackets went all “Midsommar” in those woods I’m assuming right? Don’t get me wrong they’ve already done extremely dark moments throughout the series I mean it’s no question -them eating Jackie’s dead roasted body -they killed and ate a child And there’s a couple more Season 2 def nailed the spot but season 3 held back for some reason why? Why didn’t season 3 let them all be crazy? There’s no way it was only Shauna and Lottie. Btw I still enjoyed season 3 in overall.

I mean I'd say tossing a mask on and chasing someone through the snow so you can eat them like a pack of teenage werewolves falls pretty neatly under the psycho umbrella. Not to mention cutting a guy's hamstring while he dies of sepsis.
Do you mean Achilles tendon? Or did I miss something
they meant achilles for sure. that was not the hamstring
Coach didn't deserve to go out like that. I bet Misty set fire to the cabin. She broke the transponder so they would be forced to stay in the woods longer.
Except that only one of those teenagers, Shauna, was actually chasing Mari through the woods. 4 of them were plotting a coup, 2 more (Hannah and Misty) were collaborating on Nat's escape from the camp with the satellite phone, and the rest of them apparently decided to sit the whole thing out. It would have been nice to have seen at least one successful hunt, with all of the group participating, before the end of season 3, especially if you are trying to demonstrate how wild/feral and violent the group has become.
Because if you give Nat a pass for mercy killing Coach Ben, at his request, by the end of season 3 only Shauna, Lottie, Hannah (not a Yellowjacket) and Melissa have actually threatened or done any real violence in the woods.
And the Nat hunt at the end of season 2 doesn’t really count IMHO, given the near starvation circumstances and the fact Javi conveniently drowned on the frozen lake so that the group never needed to actively kill their teammate for food.
Why do people keep ignoring this? Every time the teens not being feral enough gets brought up, they bring up them hunting Mari when it was just Shauna.
How about collectively wailing into the night sky after consuming barbecue Coach?
Or how about tomahawking the back of the scientists fucking head
That was just Lottie and her blood dirt
Yea but most of them didn’t even bat an eye to it. I’d say that’s full on psycho
Their hunting the other adults was really freaky
For sure. I didn’t buy the so called adventure/survival expert being tracked down so easily but I really felt the anxiety from Hannah when she was trying to hide
That was Jeff's dad he was lying about being a wilderness expert.
There is no defense against chaos
That was a good moment but they never reach that height again and it’s the only scene this season that felt like the dynamic they’d been building up for 2 seasons.
The fact that they only attempted to hunt down and kill Nat but failed doesnt exactly scream "not feral" to me.
Letting a child die and eating it is crazy
They all chased Natalie to eat her.
They still need to actually kill the prey.
Says who?
“does a hunt that has no violence feed anyone?”
Nope but since standing aside and letting a kid drown is pretty violent wether it feeds anyone or not it's still pretty psycho.
Define psycho?
Cause they seem quite unhinged as is.
Like all of them participating in the rituals and being down for the hunt. They pretty much stop the cult stuff in season 3 except for the Coach Ben feast and most of them don’t wanna hunt Mari.
If you don’t think they haven’t gone crazy, then maybe you need to talk to someone
I think OP just means they haven't gone AS crazy as they expected based on the pilot. Which is fair tbh.
I love chaos and crazy but I think this season lived up to the crazy. They had their whole camp and summertime lala joy and then it shifted after the frog researchers were murdered after their crazy ritual.
I also enjoyed s3 more than s2
lol I thought the show did a perfect job of catching up to the pilot in season 3. Like it really just got there at the end of season, but I found the pacing perfect. Please just don’t fuck up season 4 AND LET MISTY BE QUEEN
I get what you mean.
The hunt in the pilot and in the actual episode were very different. A lot of them didn't want to do it and some were actively trying to help Mari.
Having the cabin was huge. Having Coach was huge. Slowed down the process. We're here now babes
Having coach’s head at the dinner table and then an axe to the back of the head of a random passer by, and eating his brains whilst they chase the only two people that could’ve helped them escape around the woods is pretty unhinged tbh. Dunno about you though…. They’re pretty fucked up . I think the most sinister part of it all is how delusional they are to think that the forest is somehow communicating with them and expecting sacrifices for them to be rewarded. Shauna is off her head insane and Lottie is full blown schizophrenic. The sleepwalking plot for Tai died down a fair bit so I don’t know why they suddenly forgot about that. Surprised they didn’t have her sleep walk and eat coach alive
Hopefully they’ll get more unhinged in season 4
I get what you mean. The season one intro makes them seem more feral then they actually are in this scene.
Take a look at their faces when they chase Nat, that was enough for me
They have pivoted from the pilot and s1. The story is way less unhinged
I would say they very much reached the peak with the pitgirl hunt. I don't really know what else you want from it
For them to actually murder the prey.
They did go crazy. The only reason why they held back on Mary was because she was one of them and they never hunted/ killed a yellowjacket before.
They basically made unsustainable creative choices and gave up on a LOT of what they planted in season one. It's still watchable, but nowhere near what it could have been if made by creatively consistent and competent show runners.
Cabin Guy's episode being shot and then not aired is an obvious symptom of this.
They already are.
Because they have to build somewhere. If they were full crazy the whole time it wouldn’t be fun to watch. Everybody’s already talked about how they’ve already been crazy, but did you see the season 3 finale? The antler queen is now very present, so…we’re gonna get there
None of them like Shauna and wanna go home. I still think there’s gonna be a bloodbath but they’re gonna have to speed run it since there’s 6 people to kill and only one more season.
Howling and dancing while eating the flesh of their dead coach isn't enough for you? Ehat kind of psycho do you specifically want to see to satisfy your idea of "gone full psycho"?
Not sure why people don’t get what you’re saying OP, but I completely agree. After the cabin burned, we should’ve seen them go completely ballistic but nah everything’s fine.
If you think everything is fine post-cabin fire then I am thoroughly confused on what show you’re watching.
They built a village after their cabin burned in the middle of winter with them only having blankets. Now they have all the resources they need and are chilling all the time.
What child did they eat?
javi. he was like 12/13
Javioli
javi. he was like 12/13
Javi, but they didn’t kill him, right? He fell while they were chasing Natalie (who they WERE going to kill and eat).
...they haven't? 👀
if they haven't, I'd love to know your definition of psycho. 😅
What in fuck's name could possibly make you think they already haven't!?
Is this rage bait?
Edit: Seriously, am I missing something? We've seen murder, cannibalism, ritual sacrifice, etc.
Um… I’m not sure what show you’re watching, but they definitely have.
Actual crazy doesn’t look like people going full gibbering, animalistic monster mode 24/7. Actual crazy looks like ritualized cannibalistic human sacrifice being normalized and justified among a group who willfully chooses to dehumanize their victims because it’s easier than facing the cruel reality of their actions. The show gives us that in droves.
The girls are spending their time minimizing and justifying the horror of their actions, which is the clearest sign that they have lost it.
