It feels so strange because Mori is obviously supposed to be Gabby with her seemingly having some kind of connection to Daken and a group that is doing human experiments. I think one of the MY-X soldiers even has claws similar to Laura's.

I feel like Mori is "Molly" from Runaways. She has a similar vibe to Gabby and the hat kind of gives it away imo. Also "Mori" sounds like "Molly"

should have rephrased. I think Mori was originally supposed to be Gabby, but was changed to Molly Hayes later on because her place in the story feels more fitting for Gabby.
