It’s so jarring reading this every week because I genuinely don’t think the writer has any clue what her personality is. They have her being this hot-headed, mouthy brat and that could not be further from the vibe! So many books are like this at the moment with the X-Men characters but Laura has had a rough year in print…
Do not go into this comic expecting anyone to act in character. Laura is just a Girl!Logan while Eddie Brock is just acting like Cletus because I can only assume the writer didn't know until the last minute Carnage wasn't Cletus.
Logan made peace with that side of himself a while ago, Laura has constantly struggled to not give in to her baser instincts especially after she was used with the pheromone signaler.
It’s definitely one part I’m not the biggest fan of with this run, the characters feel more like caricatures of themselves at times like Humphries has a very basic knowledge of who he’s writing.
The arts pretty good though, and the story can be fun in a “turn your brain off action movie” sort of way.
This would be resolved if they implemented a certain idea I had about the Krakoan clones, which are not the real ones and are imprisoned somewhere healing from their deaths. Remember that for a time we had two Lauras and the real Laura died and the clone remained.
I've read multiple of them I've even seen her kill a bunch of soldiers it doesn't make sense to have a character who was wolverine not killed I don't care about what other examples you think makes sense they don't she has literal blades coming out of her fists she's going to have to kill you want to character with no kill rules go to DC comics
It very much does. She was programmed to go full berserker rage with a trigger scent that was put on her mother right after A) Escaping the people controlling her and B) learning she had a mother and a name. Prior to that, she was assigned a handler named Kimura who was basically an '80s high school movie bully whom Laura was physically incapable of hurting due to her indestructible skin and hair and limited control of her body's density. Long story short: Laura is tired of being a weapon and she generally doesn't want to kill, but your life is forfeit if you aim to take away people's agency.
The person that you literally named that had unbreakable skin she literally killed and had a better life for it. I can understand her not wanting to be a weapon and used by others but it doesn't really make sense for a mutant to not kill she lives in a world that hates and fears her she needs to kill her enemies having a no-kill rule in this world is a freaking death sentence
It’s the unfortunate thing in this run, the writer just throws lots of pre-established stuff (which is weird because they even reference Bucky and Laura’s last team-up) out and does what they want.
I don’t think they actually knew much about some of the characters except some basics at best.
I need to forget specifically that to enjoy the art and the Laura Who Laughs comedy. Laura going full murder hobo in her Wolverine costume triggers me.
logan's been in three different lineups of the avengers. now this run sucks, but logan's been in the avengers more then enough times that laura being one isnt far fetched.
I am in the process of reading all new wolverine and the entire book hammers in how laura wants to protect life and isnt like her father, this seems entirely opposed to that
This is by far the worst run for Laura characterisation ever

damn really? ive been binge reading x23 and new xmen runs, i love the quiet but also not shy and very blunt Laura
How
Because it completely butchers her into 'rookie Logan with boobs' and that is very much not Laura
Not even Logan, she acts like an in between of Sabretooth and Deadpool
Laura's willingness to kill again is a bit jarring. Definitely felt the change came out of nowhere post Krakoa

Human traffickers have always been a sore spot for her.
Agreed.
I have no problem with no kill characters bending it for human traffickers. They get the rope.
Also Nazis. Cause fuck those guys.
I understand there's some character that have a no killing rule but it doesn't really make sense to give any version of wolverine that rule
Logan made peace with that side of himself a while ago, Laura has constantly struggled to not give in to her baser instincts especially after she was used with the pheromone signaler.

Right. Fantastic art.
Yep

That tells me you've never actually read a Laura comic in your life, she's had a massive arc about this

I thought she moved past the killing machine phase.

Damn that’s terrible. Really don’t like the direction Laura is going in
Why would she move past killing she's a wolverine
Go read her comic runs and then come back.
I need to forget specifically that to enjoy the art and the Laura Who Laughs comedy. Laura going full murder hobo in her Wolverine costume triggers me.
The art is good
If only she wasnt written so poorly.
Was Laura one of the new Avengers? I feel like Logan wasnt really on the team and so Laura probably wouldn't be either...
logan's been in three different lineups of the avengers. now this run sucks, but logan's been in the avengers more then enough times that laura being one isnt far fetched.
shit even daken was with the dark avengers
Kickass artwork, love it.
We got this AND Sabretooth book of her this year...literally competing to be the worst writing of her of all time.
JUST STAB ME IN THE CHEST JESUS CHRIST WOMAN
