I listened to a Mandarin podcast today. The guest was an American, who flew across the ocean to Taiwan for university. He has been learning Mandarin by himself since high school. One really impressive thing is that the way he speaks Mandarin is just like how native speakers talk in daily life. It’s really hard to tell the difference. But somehow, he still feels insecure about his Mandarin. I think he doesn’t just want to be good, he wants to be the best.
