Is it true that Parisians are rude towards tourists? I’m planning to visit France this year since your country has direct flight(Air France) here in SouthEast Asia.
This doesn't really belong here, but that's an urban legend. French people are very friendly with tourists; however, Paris is like London or New York—people are always in a hurry and can be indifferent because of the high volume of tourists. As a Frenchman, I personally love meeting English-speaking people! :)
not at all, honestly the English are worse (not the Welsh or Scots), I never tried to be annoying while visiting France so this is not scientific but my travelling strategy was to use my broken French first and to dress appropriately (don't walk around Paris in jeans and a t-shirt its an insult to a beautiful city).
You are welcome. But I suggest not going to North India for the next few years. Due to massive infrastructure construction and overpopulation, the next few years will be extremely daunting for foreign visitors.
because you trade a hydro and torps that get knocked out constantly for more useable guns, bullshit handling, a funny button that literally is so unnecessary, a secondary suite that pens 59mm, a hull that is the worst amalgamation of seemingly black hole effect with shells and just flatout out shattering things, whilst having a commander that not only is far easier to proc talents on, it's a straight improvement from Lutjens in general?
I'm not saying Pommern is a slouch, but they are not in the same realm whatsoever. Can we please not feed into this rhetoric that the Pan-Ams are adjacent performers to the German counterparts. The fact that a single line has dethroned the CQB contemporaries whilst demanding an even lower skill requirement from the playerbase is highly problematic.
Adding onto this, any German secondary BB, including Schlieffen, will always lose to Libertad for the simple reason that they cannot pen Libertad's deck but Libertad can.
Unless Schlieffen gets torps or lucky with fires, a Libertad vs Schlieffen duel is usually a free kill for the Libertad.
I'm currently playing through the German heavy cruiser tech line (not the battlecruisers, I mean the line with the Hipper, another sister ship). If you're looking for ships with that playstyle, I can recommend them too. If you don't already have them.
No problem! If you want, feel free to message me and I can show you how I mod the line and skill the Capten.
I usually stay at medium range and keep moving. I play without the conceal module, instead using improved rudder shift time. I've found it's quite good for dodging incoming shots that way. With AP, you can easily shoot into the superstructures of battleships (especially German ones). For all angled ships, I'd use HE. It reliably starts fires.
Although i dont have that ship, from others gameplay i think it doesnt deal that much damage as expected, esp sap ricocheting a lot. But yes going full auto on other things is fun (before getting sniped by light cruisers, id assume)
I have only ever used it in operations and asymmetrical battles so my experience differs. I use islands and smoke to conceal myself but I get in relatively close range, to split their attention. The key is to never charge in alone, it's not a solo ship for the most part as it is reliant on teammates to spot and tank while you melt the enemy ships by targeting their superstructure. Play it like a light cruiser and you'll be just fine.
Gibraltar, something about 1 shooting a dd and getting 12k salvos on bbs and cruisers is super satisfying. Plus it likes to blow up so if I fuck up I know its my fault
Recently? California. Got it as a free Christmas gift and I love it. 12 guns, decent armor. And the slow speed and turning doesn't really bother me because as a BB I'm in no rush to get torped or crossfired. Been having a blast with it in Asymmetric
schlieffen, hits fast and often with those secondaries and those guns, while not the best, hit very hard, also having great torps for a battlecruiser (not counting the ass reload)
Omaha. As much as I love some of the other ships (Wichita is my credit printer), it's the one that I keep going back to. Fast at the tier, lots of guns, good fire rate, and the torpedoes can smack a BB if they (or you) mess up and get close. It's just fun to play.
Have you tried Marblehead? It’s quite similar with some differences. I don’t know that I would say it is better or worse just different while still having the same kind of gameplay. The Soviet Omaha on the other hand imo can’t say the same.
I have both (the Marblehead and the Marblehead L), along with Murmansk. While I have a number of other ships I like, (I have every tech tree to T-10), I still go back to Omaha whenever I can.
Picardie, and angry bathtub crewed by a drunk octopus with a lot of guns. Greedy secondary build and take it into Asymmetrics where a target-rich close engagement sees it go off like a firework display
Tirpitz. I like brawling but not like Libertad and Valp as much. Those ships are brainless you just click W and go. Tirpitz requires effort and skill to make work and man is she SEXY
Roma! (Have the Littorio clone but same thing) What if i wanted every salvo to feel like a spin of the roulette? I either overpen the thickest armor or obliterate.
I love the ghostly concealment of the ship and the hull is very enjoyable to maneuver. Ngl, it’s one of the very few ships that I feel comfortable being uptiered in.
Oh and did I ever mention how that ship looks immaculate?
Niord: a beautiful kiting BB with a fast reload.
AP hits like a truck and if that’s not enough, just drag your pursuers, who don’t even know you have 15 km torps, right through 20 of them.
If RNG is with me, Napoli. I naturally lean into the charging into the enemy mentality and this ship allows that. I can either decide to charge in firing away or I can smoke up and close in on a battleship and give them a wave of fairly strong torpedoes. Napoli is also capable of keeping up with just about any ship at close range and will win the majority of knife fights if angled right. It's also very capable of taking on more than one ship at a time, often a battleship and a cruiser sometimes several cruisers and winning. There's little more fun for me than getting in between a battleship and a cruiser firing both sides of torps and then turning around to circle like a shark pounding the aft of the battleship. It is fairly easy to take some big pen damage doing that but that's where the strong heals come in
Admiral Hipper, just one of my favorite ships in the German Crusier line (my favorite line), I love being a pain to every DD and light Crusier around me, and have every battleship regret getting too close to me
My St Louis is my all time favorite cuz it's the closest I know of in game to an old sail ship with a crap load of small guns that are mains not secondaries.
The combination of limitations and strengths is just so fun. Trying to figure out how to get cruisers killed when you can't hurt them, how to ambush DDs with your alpha (But no DPM), and then get to that juicy center of BB Dev Strikes...
It is just so much fun. Doesn't hurt it is by far my highest win rate ship with a large game count. Asashio is just such a hilarious menace once a flank figures out what is going on. That and the psychological effect. So many BBs just abandoned a flank once they realize there is an Asashio on it. Or else just hide behind Islands and let me wipe out the DDs and spot the cruisers till they die.
... until a CV drops a fighter on me. Asashio can't kill fighters before they expire, lol.
Pommern in ops, the main gun dispersion makes you want to flip tables at times but get your positioning right and you rain shells from both broadsides and earn a million credits easily per game
Probably Taihang (basically Iwami with deepwaters but i got Taihang first so no need for Iwami). Good AP’s with high accuracy but its greatest strength is armor/angling, can shoot all 8 406mms at proper defensive angle so if you position right you’ll do serious damage while eating shells on the nose. Im a relatively low skill player but that ship makes it feel easy.
That thing is a fucking 50 Cal in ship form, and unlike the other British Cruisers, her citadel is quite small. You get up against a light cruiser or destroyer? You'll rip them apart.
The only downside is, anything bigger than 155mm should be avoided, and aircraft are your worst nightmare. Outside of that, I love her.
Des Moines, perhaps the best cruiser guns mid/close range in the game, good radar and godtier maneuverability with legmod (and lighthouse build for more experienced tryhard players).
Bourgogne. Love how it looks, it's agility, speed, excellent guns and reload booster. Just consistent fun with a very high skill ceiling.
GK because it looks great, tanks well, and it gets underestimated. People give your broadsides to avoid broadsides from other bbs, but surprise, 12x.406mm guns with gun accuracy build are quite deadly. Even with gun build the secondaries are still very useful once it comes down to a brawl in late game.
Laffey. Love running at other dds, trading shots and then healing back most of my HP while they are either dead or badly damaged.
Until I got Alaska, it was probably Buffalo or Agir due to ranked T9 games. Something just feels good about being a cruiser that just smacks hard with those guns, even if it's a battleship.
Belfast 43, very relaxing and also strong. It's weird but I thought Svea would have the same effect but maybe because it's tier 10 it's sweaty and not at all relaxing.
Right now it’s the Prinz Adalbert but that could change depending on ships I have been trying and if I can get others that I want to try like the Alaska or Puerto Rico
Alaska. It's a really strong ship that can take a beating and has excellent AP that can citadel battleships.
I love jumping battleships that underestimate it because of it's cruiser status. Oh and the radar and HE can reign terror on dds. Just a fun, really good ship.
The Balow family of subs. You ride the knife-edge of success or failure. In the most red-alert game play the game has to offer. Firing at a CL with DD parked above you is exhilarating.
Bourgogne because... well I'm from Bourgogne. Simple brain I know
Relatable, I don't like Cherbourg that much but it's fun to have a ship named after my town
Is it true that Parisians are rude towards tourists? I’m planning to visit France this year since your country has direct flight(Air France) here in SouthEast Asia.

Unless you're going to some luxurious restaurants, you can wear whatever you want. Nobody will feel offended ^
Wheres that?
It's an eastern france's region (burgundy in english)
Oooh so your french.
Oh wow I never thought Burgundy (associated with the brown colour) is the transliteration for Bourgogne....I am from India.
Burgundy is known for famous red wines, this is probably why the color is named after it.
Fun fact : in france we call this color "rouge bordeaux". "Rouge" is red and "Bordeaux" is a city also known for red wine (but it's not in burgundy)
I'll definitely visit india one day. The culture looks so interesting
You are welcome. But I suggest not going to North India for the next few years. Due to massive infrastructure construction and overpopulation, the next few years will be extremely daunting for foreign visitors.
Zao, old but gold and everyone forgets that it has decent AP and can get close enough to use it
Libertad. Simply because you can hold beer in one hand, burger in second and somehow destroy other ships
Gets boring for me. Like i have pommern, why get another similar 12 gun 33sec reload secondary monster (although i do have both)
because you trade a hydro and torps that get knocked out constantly for more useable guns, bullshit handling, a funny button that literally is so unnecessary, a secondary suite that pens 59mm, a hull that is the worst amalgamation of seemingly black hole effect with shells and just flatout out shattering things, whilst having a commander that not only is far easier to proc talents on, it's a straight improvement from Lutjens in general?

Unless Schlieffen gets torps or lucky with fires, a Libertad vs Schlieffen duel is usually a free kill for the Libertad.
Different flavors or of secondaries
Well i would say libertad has better secondaries, high penetration, lots of fires, but less hits (less satisfying).
Prinz Eugen
Love a historical ship, and her combination of great AP, good armour for a cruiser and heals makes her just great consistent fun
I can relate. I enjoy playing the Bücher (the sister ship, it's basically the same ship, just on T9 and slightly better stats).
!! I was so disappointed i missed Blücher but university got in the way of that dockyard for me:/
I'm glad my Eugen dropped from a supercontainer only a month or so later
Haha, I know that feeling about university. ;)
I'm currently playing through the German heavy cruiser tech line (not the battlecruisers, I mean the line with the Hipper, another sister ship). If you're looking for ships with that playstyle, I can recommend them too. If you don't already have them.
Thankyou! I'll have to give them another shot
I kinda gave up a while ago with Nurnberg but you're right i should definitely continue with them
No problem! If you want, feel free to message me and I can show you how I mod the line and skill the Capten.
I usually stay at medium range and keep moving. I play without the conceal module, instead using improved rudder shift time. I've found it's quite good for dodging incoming shots that way. The German Tier II V-25 destroyer
gotta love torpedo jousting!
A DA Barbiano, because guns go BRRRRTTTTTTTT
Why not austin then, guns go BRRRRTTTTTTTT with a large chance of fires and sunk ships
But 16 guns with 2.3 second reload without boosters is peak
Although i dont have that ship, from others gameplay i think it doesnt deal that much damage as expected, esp sap ricocheting a lot. But yes going full auto on other things is fun (before getting sniped by light cruisers, id assume)

Bremen, pure consistent dpm, just crazy.
Jinan
Gibraltar, something about 1 shooting a dd and getting 12k salvos on bbs and cruisers is super satisfying. Plus it likes to blow up so if I fuck up I know its my fault
Gibraltar is worth it alone for the looks. Nothing beats the big box bridge. And its a joy to play.
Have you tried Monmouth?
Nah, not yet haven't gotten my hands on that one yet.
Recently? California. Got it as a free Christmas gift and I love it. 12 guns, decent armor. And the slow speed and turning doesn't really bother me because as a BB I'm in no rush to get torped or crossfired. Been having a blast with it in Asymmetric
And it's fat and cute somehow.
She thicc
Rodney. Just spamming 16" shells and torpedoes forward is glorious.
Indianapolis
Makes me feel good repping the most famous heavy cruiser that represents my home state.
I also really enjoy the Indy and I'm a Purdue grad so when I get a bunch of cits or a kill, "choo-choo! 😁"
I do love my Scharnhorst '43. It's just plain fun.
schlieffen, hits fast and often with those secondaries and those guns, while not the best, hit very hard, also having great torps for a battlecruiser (not counting the ass reload)
I think Marblehead is better due to its economy.
I have both (the Marblehead and the Marblehead L), along with Murmansk. While I have a number of other ships I like, (I have every tech tree to T-10), I still go back to Omaha whenever I can.
Murmansk is my favorite and most played for all of these reasons, plus you get Soviet gun arcs.
GK, cuz it has the cool fuckin spaceship skin. Fight me. :D
Atago for the play, Venezia for the style.
Bremen
Picardie, and angry bathtub crewed by a drunk octopus with a lot of guns. Greedy secondary build and take it into Asymmetrics where a target-rich close engagement sees it go off like a firework display
BB? Pommern lately
Cruiser? Cambridge. Super accurate Alaska guns make it so dreamy to play.
DD? Smaland probably, got it out of a Santa crate. Very fun DD hunter.
Chikuma II, its full brain engagement!
Iowa, it’s got Aura
Halland, cus so god damn comfy..
Richelieu.
The guns just speak to me.
Albemarle, cos everyone thinks it's a turd but with good angles and clever play it kicks ass.
Tirpitz. I like brawling but not like Libertad and Valp as much. Those ships are brainless you just click W and go. Tirpitz requires effort and skill to make work and man is she SEXY
jager
valparaiso
archerfish
minotaur
jinan
Tachibana. Low tier games are fun, no gimmicks: back to basics.
Niord: a beautiful kiting BB with a fast reload. AP hits like a truck and if that’s not enough, just drag your pursuers, who don’t even know you have 15 km torps, right through 20 of them.
When I have a good day, the Minotaur. On a bad day, Pommern to cheer me up.
I have got myself Mecklenburg lately, and I love it so far.
Also love Prinz Heinrich and Zeiten (have not progressed past T8 of that line yet).
If RNG is with me, Napoli. I naturally lean into the charging into the enemy mentality and this ship allows that. Lyon. Because 16 guns at T7 does....things....until it's bottom tier.
Admiral Hipper, just one of my favorite ships in the German Crusier line (my favorite line), I love being a pain to every DD and light Crusier around me, and have every battleship regret getting too close to me
z23. hydro pays off big time
I have two and they were both free. The Dunkirque B and the Kearsarge B. I am decent with both but that black paint... damn I love it.
Changes. Recently Tiger '59 and Småland. But Montana and Ohio are always my go to.
Des Moines, I mean why not it’s the dezz memes
Kamikaze, the torp spam is great
My St Louis is my all time favorite cuz it's the closest I know of in game to an old sail ship with a crap load of small guns that are mains not secondaries.
Definetly not Des Moines.
Jokes aside I think PvO replaced DM for me by a very close margin.
I also like Maine.
I love my Atlanta and HSF Harekaze (OG)
Yueyang
Gun / radar / UU or full torp?
Asashio.
The combination of limitations and strengths is just so fun. Trying to figure out how to get cruisers killed when you can't hurt them, how to ambush DDs with your alpha (But no DPM), and then get to that juicy center of BB Dev Strikes...

Pommern in ops, the main gun dispersion makes you want to flip tables at times but get your positioning right and you rain shells from both broadsides and earn a million credits easily per game
Giulio Cesare. People know why.
Bismarck - probably looks, secondary builds are aggressive plays,i dont like staying still and shooting from back forth
Stalingrad, the most consistent punishing guns in the game
Fiji.
Edinbutgh, cossack and Jean bart. Nimble boats, hits hard, needs to sneaky to stay alive.
Mammie or Georgia…possibly Georgia now. Those main guns slap and secondaries go brrrrr
New Orleans, she's gorgeous.
Gneisenau. I love her maneuverability while still having good armor and high caliber guns. Apart from that she looks damn good.
Lushun. I've surprised so many dds with her hydro and her heal is great. Guns have russian ballistics which makes them a joy to use.
Royal Sovereign. Revenge-Class, and my surname made the Revenge so it’s nice seeing that
Bourgogne. Love how it looks, it's agility, speed, excellent guns and reload booster. Just consistent fun with a very high skill ceiling.
GK because it looks great, tanks well, and it gets underestimated. Massachusetts because shes the original OP secondary Bb
Right now it’s the Prinz Adalbert but that could change depending on ships I have been trying and if I can get others that I want to try like the Alaska or Puerto Rico
Preußen, love that reload
Preußen, love that reload with 457mm
Kronshtadt , Kushiro(Lighthouse), Lighthouse Ven. Marseille some times
5+ years ago it would be the Des Moines.
Siegfried. Not sure why really but I love it, been playing this 5 years and it's still my most played boat
My top 3 most played are Tromp, Archerfish and Enterprise.
Many people in this game would pay top dollar to kill me irl.
Honestly, recently, Montana.
It just always works.
Alaska. It's a really strong ship that can take a beating and has excellent AP that can citadel battleships.
I love jumping battleships that underestimate it because of it's cruiser status. Oh and the radar and HE can reign terror on dds. Just a fun, really good ship.
Cruiser...? I have one too and rate it as a battle cruiser. Is soo strong. And the guns are great
Well yeah, but there's smooth brain battleships that see the cruiser symbol and that's it.
The Balow family of subs. You ride the knife-edge of success or failure. In the most red-alert game play the game has to offer. Firing at a CL with DD parked above you is exhilarating.
The Soviet subs seem like a lil more wild shotguns
