I used to think lutjens is on schlieffen but then i read quite a few people commenting that lutjens is great on the german secondary cruiser line, but seems like schlieffen (and the bb skill tree) should be better? Or did I miss something that would work better on prinz adelbert?

They all work best with Lütjens, as to asnwering which ship is THE best to put him on, is fairly simple. Hes objectively best there where he is used most often. So you play Schlieffen or Adelbert more? Whichever it may be thats where ypu want him
It is also worth considering that there are way more German cruiser premiums for the Adalbert build doesn't really work, compared to most of the battleship premiums where the Schlieffen/secondary build does work.

yeah, the kms bc build differs a bit to the standard german secondary/tank build, but it will work
So...few things to consider.
Schlieffen is getting a premium version released with the Lunar New Year. So this isnt a choice you really have to make.
Theres only ever been 3 ships Ive managed to proc 3 of Lutjens 4 special abilities on. Graf Zeppelin (Airstrike armaments hits/spotting/secondary hits) Manteuffel and Prinz Adalbert (Spotting, Main armaments hits,.secondary armaments hits).
It really comes down to which are you gonna play more? I took mine off Schlieffen and put him in Prinz Adalbert. Because I love the ship, but also Cruiser lobby waits are way shorter than BB ones.
You beat me to it. You’ve got a higher chance to proc main battery in the new cruiser line. I moved him to Adalbert.

No idea. Probably? They usually can be removed if nothing else. Looks like its covered in post-it notes to me.
Might have to bust out ol’ reliable here but I’d say it depends on three things: which you’re better at, which you play more, and what other ships you play.
The bonuses trigger on hit count, so if you’re no good with manual secondaries you might have a harder time proccing the bonus. Alternatively, you’re probably more likely to spot ships in the cruiser, so if you’re good at that it’s a point for PA.
If you play/enjoy one more than the other, just put him there. It’s probably a close toss up either way.
Do you play the HE spamming premium cruisers (Bremen, Mainz, Munchen, etc)? If so the PA build doesn’t really match. Do you play Mecklenburg or Pruessen? If so the Schlieffen build doesn’t really match (I think).
Schlieffen tends to drop FP for the secondary accuracy skill, which is a bad choice for most of the rest of the German BBs. They tend to be best served with dropping the extra heal IMO if you really want a full secondary build, but are pretty optimal with a standard tanking build and minimal secondary investment.
Good thread. Just got him, put him on Adalbert because that’s a great ship. Schlieffen is great ship too, but I play her more in PvE so less value from unique captain.
Do you have Bremen or plan on getting it?
If yes, then Lütjens for Schlieffen. Because you also want him for Bremen, and the Bremen build is different to the Adalbert build.
I have bremen but i use it more of a captain trainer, i only have one 21 pt captain for germany and i use lutjens for Mantuffel Its one of few T9 croozers that i really enjoy
if you can whale for the new prem variant you'll be fine with the prem schlieff and you can slap him on adal no problem.
that said, I'd say schlieff gets more out of his secondary skills and his detection skill.
The dev blog claimed would be able to unlock most of the full paths with the event base tokens free. Even if that track can not be completed with all tokens, it sounds like coal can be combined with the event token to get them, so might not want to make any coal purchases that are not time sensitive before then.
dont even bother with coal spending is more like it, not everyone has endless coal.
But there are lots of people who have mountains of coal too with nothing else to spend it on. Some of us have played this game for 10 years and coal ships are released at a much slower rate than you acquire it.
i can not wait for premium schlieffen, i have lütjens on rupprecht rn for ranked… but i wanna play my full power schlieffrn… but not retrain
I’m having the same debate except with Schlieffen or Manteuffel. I can’t get on with Adelbert and I’m not sure why…
Lutjens works equally as well on both Schlieffen and Adalbert. You choice depends on which ship you will play more
Whichever one you play more. I've had Schlif for a long time so he's on Adelbert for now.
