I have a query. I've practiced witchcraft all my life in some form or other(the doctor used to call it OCD) and I tend to just took around and look at the sky and feel when the time is right to do a spell. And I'm good at it. I'm not greedy, needy or vengeful in my requests from the things I do. It always works. My neighbour is very different, I don't mean his intentions because I don't ask, but different because he's very much into using apps and technical specificities and all the angles and he's warned me not to do any magic when the moon is in this certain via combusta place. He shows me charts and I'm always kind of confused by the various formats on a 2D screen about what is where. I never learnt any of the words for any of it so I don't understand in my minds eye what that looks like in the sky, basically. It's not just a new moon is it? Where do I look in the sky is what I'm asking, it's between something and Scorpio isn't it but tbh I only know the north star and Orion and the other various obvious sky statements. I was fine before I got confused by the rise of online witchcraft and astrology. I went by vibes. This person says he doesn't physically feel it when Venus or Jupiter are really close and bright, which I find insane, but he feels it because he knows about it through his apps haha. I can compare it to my training as a hairdresser when the technicalities of it actually confused me when I was doing perfect haircuts without knowing the angles. Or cooking recipes etc.

Basically when can I do a spell and is it obvious when I look up?

I'd appreciate any thoughts or answers on this matter. Festive blessings to you all.

  • Literally, the things that matter in your craft are the things that you believe matter. Magic is basically the placebo effect without limits except such limitations as are created by the limits of ours, and others', beliefs.

So that guy's angles and stuff are terribly important to his practice, and they actually impact his practice, but they don't impact yours unless you tell him about your workings, at which point his belief could influence your working.

So you can ignore via combusta as long as you aren't discussing projects underway with your neighbor.
