Yeah this looks awesome and was well executed.
Yes, the people posted in this sub are undoubtedly stupid, but there are quite a few where I think, that looks really awesome and I'd love to try that....if it weren't so obviously stupid!
These are meant to be handheld like a hand flare. It would have to have a very bad malfunction for it to explode and it would be just as dangerous if they were using it the right way. Fireworks that explode from malfunction are usually the ones that are meant to explode anyway but the flaw made them explode early. For something like this to explode it has to have the powder contained in a sealed and compact place, which isn't the case in the type of fireworks in this video.
The Dutch government also aims to outlaw fireworks in 2026, which will, I wager, result in the Dutch revolution of 2026. Dutch people love burning their shit on New Years Eve. Fireworks, furniture, sometimes literal shit.
Maybe you're right. But then, I have seen Rotterdam on NYE, and we have seen the protests in Zuiderpark and at Central Station of The Hague around previous, rather unspectacular legislation ...
Can happen - speaking from experience. But, as you say, this type won't really explode with a big bang unless you have layer upon layer of very bad malfunctions. As fireworks go, they're fairly huggly.
Not saying that playing with fireworks like this is a good idea, but they made a good choice for their irresponsible fun.
Why are commenters saying ‘it’s not that dangerous’ just simply ignoring the fact that there are two people hurling very hot shots that could burn someone’s eye particularly an innocent bystander? Doing this stuff out on the street is plain stupid
We used to have Roman candle fights as a kid. Someone got hit in the ear and it just burned a little, but didn't leave a mark or anything that lasted more than a few seconds.
There's also always the chance that the fireworks is faulty and that it explodes all at once, leaving only tiniest confetti of everything in vicinity behind. I had such one once and it was quite crazy. Never had i been more happy to have adhered all safety cautions, because otherwise, this could have done severe harm.
These only shoot color sparkles, they're not explosive and people usually hold them in their hands. It could have ended bad only if it came with a major factory issue, but at that point it would be just as dangerous if it was being used the right way, and you could basically say the same about hand flares or those firework sparklers people put on birthday cakes.
They are safe(ish) when used as designed. To claim otherwise is delusional. Luckily they didn’t get each other’s fireworks shot into their eyeballs. 🤷🏻♀️
But it looks cool af though
Hell yeah it does

Reminds me of that video on here of the motorcycle doing a wheelie on the job way blasting fireworks into the air while rock music was playing.
Found it. https://share.google/Lt6KuPxvslZvWTHkF
Holy crap! How have I never seen that?
Amazing that people keep deciding to do these things regardless of the all the videos of people losing parts of their bodies.
They're not using explosives.
Yes but fireworks can malfunction and explode enough to tear a hole in your leg.

The video was short in Germany, a neighboring country of The Netherlands.
The Dutch government ILT inspectorate tested legal fireworks last year and rejected a whopping 40%.

That seems highly unlikely. It's just like smoking inside public spaces or wearing a seatbelt.
Give some time and everybody thinks this is completely normal.

Yet these guys are shooting hand held flares at each other doing this routine,
But then again, that goes for everything. Your body could malfunction and drop dead too
the fireballs may not go 'bang' but this is still an explosive
Uhh, no? An explosive by definition is something that, well, explodes. These would be a form of pyrotechnics.
yes, a form of pyrotechnics (a broad category of a lot of things) which explodes
what force do you suggest expels the fireball from the tube, if not an explosion?
it's a chemical reaction in a confined space that causes a violent release of pressure -- that's an explosion

Or they could easily cause a fire if the shot ends up in someone's house.
I mean, there is a timber-frame house literally right next to them.

Dummkopf if it does not injure a bystander.
Schweinehund if it does.
Wieso, was hab ich denn jetzt getan?
How?
Rammstein returns!
I think that is why those guys have learned to dance on their hands. They are not expecting to foot dance much longer.
Prob have a monopoly on that sport.
Aarw.... I thought he was gonna go flying, Ironman style. But I guess that there is cool too... 😏
Nice fireworks, excellent amount of bang-bang per. Bad, bad idea among all those buildings and windows.
I burned myself on hot pot noodles yesterday and that's about as much burning as I am willing to take. So yeah, sorry, I'm out.
Quite the opposite

Instead, it just ended bad-ass
