This is something of a calculated risk. Drone repair/replacement cost isn't cheap, but it is potentially something a business/rich idiot could be willing to accept as the tradeoff for the cool visuals/fun. Fireworks already have a keep out zone around them anyway, so the risk to bystanders is minimal. Of all the ways I've seen to throw away a few thousand dollars, this is one I can accept.
Stay in formation. Target's just ahead. Target should be clear if you go in low enough. You'll have to decide. You'll have to decide. You'll have to decide
The drone really said “if I die, I die” and flew straight into the final boss of sparkly death. Surprised it didn’t just immediately turn into confetti.
Guy wanted a new drone but didn't know how to convince his wife.
Bomber pilot grandpa just got PTSD again.
Mayday! Mayday! Under anti-air fire!!!
I watch a lot of reddit / facebook vids at work with the sound off, for all the obvious reasons. This was exactly what I was thinking!
Poor bomber pilot grandpa!
Worth it
Right! This shot is awesome, and the drone is probably mostly recoverable lol
And it should be easy enough to clean the skull fragments out of the rotor blades.
I would imagine this is as close as you would get to the experience of flying through flak in WW2.
My first thought was my dad, a bombardier on a B-24.
Including the shrapnel. The burning glowy bits aren't the only things up there. Every time one of the rockets explodes, there's (cardboard) shrapnel.
It's all fun and games until the Loc-Nar shows up and turns the dead crew into zombies.

Right the footage was pretty cool.
INCLUDING the crash.
And it's probably a DJI Avata 2 so like 500$. Still a bunch of money to loose but it's probably not much more than a few of those Firework shells
Amazing video nothing went wrong ,worth that seconds

The drone was spinning out and got hit by one of the fireworks (or part of it)
He recovered so its all good.
Calculated risk that paid off.
Who the hell cares if it recovered?
“Impact detected”
Failure in motor 3. Rapid altitude loss detected. Pull up. Pull up. Pull up.
Left Engine Fire, Right Engine Fire, MFD failure, RWR failure, HUD failure, Altitude, Altitude
Was it the fireworks company running the drone. Looked awesome.
Flak is pretty heavy, but stay on target. Three miles to target. BF109! 10 O’clock high! Get on those guns! We’ve got company!
Our midway gunner has to stand
To give his guns a pull
But that's alright cause in a fight
His pants get mighty full
Arguably kinda worth it
This could easily have ended up killing someone.
It was in India. Your point is acknowledged.
Looked like a fairly controlled landing to me, as if the drones emergency "return home autopilot" took over.
Bomber pilot simulator
Thats some Star wars for you
Splashed a bandit
I mean the footage up to that point was cool as fuck
I flew my drone through fireworks before. I figured the chances of getting a cool video were higher than my drone getting hit.
Mayday mayday
Cost of drone is part of the budget for the footage, not like it was a go pro
This is giving me flashbacks to my times raiding Germany.
A B-17 gets hit by flak over Berlin
-1944, colorized
Just a little bit of anti aircraft artillery.
this is why government impose new rules all the time.. you shouldn't be flying any drones
If hired as a war correspondent this guy would fly a drone over air defense systems during an attack to get a better view of them firing.
Dude tried to do the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs, but failed...

10/10 concept 5/10 execution
This is so cool that I wouldn't have felt that bad about losing the drone.
The drone really said “if I die, I die” and flew straight into the final boss of sparkly death. Surprised it didn’t just immediately turn into confetti.
I've been waiting for one of these vids
We've got a black hawk down, we've got a black hawk down!
B-17 over Germany reenactment moment.
Footage was cool though to be fair.
It's like a fps view from a pilot against artillery fire during ww1.
footage was really cool though
What's the difference between fireworks and anti-aircraft fire?
Not really all that much, it seems.
That didn't go wrong that was awesome
Imagine it had that camera that costs like 16k
Looks amazing tho
Gotta say the view looks really cool, like 4D
The flak-treatment from 1944.
Well, totally worth it, though.
That’s badass OP! Coolest drone footage I’ve seen.
Wow incredibly smart to fly an avata like this in the night over fireworks where probably people are staying underneath.
Terrain terrain don’t think pull up terrain
NGL, flashback to Battlestar Galactica space battle scenes.
Otherwise known as drone SAMs
I thought this was the Battle of Hogwarts
Idk its cool having a B29 over Nazi Germany POV
Welcome to Surface to Air Missiles division of Temu.
Target down!
Bro got hit with a SAM
you would not survive as a pilot in star wars
...the rocket's red glare the bombs bursting in the air....
