I honestly don't remember the brand because they no longer sell it but I bought one from the grocery store several times that looked exactly like ops and it didn't.
I'm sad they don't have it anymore because that shit was phenomenal.
Hii can order frozen giordano's pizza off their website and have it shipped to your house. Im a former Chicago resident and saw ginos east deep dish at aldi then never again. But Giordano's you have always been able to order off their website. Ive known for about 10 years. It's just expensive to do so.
It’s also very obvious this person regularly cooks greasy things on their pizza stone.
Pizza stones should stay grease free. The stone is porous and it soaks up oils. The oils go rancid and create a burnt rancid oil taste in future pizzas. It will also smoke when baking. It’s best to cook with a layer of semolina on the surface and clean after using.
If you’re a greasy pan pizza lover like my self- the best thing you can have is a cast iron pizza pan. Greasy cheese crispy bits are wonderful. Wrong pan all around- but would also be much better on a cast iron pizza pan- which also normally have rims.
Pizza stones are flat edged in order to let you get a pizza peel on and off to add and remove your Neapolitan style.
If it was a Gino's East frozen pizza they say to do that on the instructions. I get them in Syracuse once or twice a season to watch a bears games. No one serves a pub style thin crust here.
This is true for normal crust but deep dish or PAN pizza specificity calls for a pan and they come with said pan usually aluminum little tray types cause you have to cook it with the pan or else it’s not as good and the companies know we don’t have deep dish pans
Unless you have a buddy who works at a pizza shop and hooks you up with a nice seasoned pizza pan :3
I live in Chicago and every respectable deep dish pizza comes in a proper container. Lou’s, Giordano’s, Geno’s East, and Nancy’s. What off-brand trash deep dish pizza did you buy?
Yea i just bought a Genos one not long ago and it didnt come with anything...but it was delicious. And didnt leak. It looks like OPs photo except his just looks like the cheese version not hte one with pepperoni i had.
Gino's only comes wrapped in plastic, with instructions to place something under the pizza to catch drips.
Live in NY, no pub style thin crust, and the pizza joints tried deep dish, and it was not it. So I grab a Gino's once or twice a year for the Bears games. FTP
I....genuinely never made that connection. My brain just goes "deep dish? Yes, pizza is a dish and its certainly deeper than flatbread. Makes sense to me!"
Tbf deep dish pizza is not something I commonly think about
Mine is starting to look like that and I've been dragging my feet about cleaning it. I've seen online that you can put oven cleaner on it and saran wrap over it and let it sit for a while and it will come right off if you wait long enough
Experts agree — saran wrap your oven walls and turn it on! The grease and grime will fall from the walls with ease while the heat and saran wrap combine to create THE most powerful cleanser for ovens.
This is true. Will also remove the seasoning off a cast iron skillet. Amazing to see a black skillet become metallic gray after sitting in it for a couple of days.
And on some, the inner glass pane can also be individually removed too. Just be careful not to use scrapers or scourers on them... many have a special coating which will get removed, and more importantly, even small scratches can cause it to shatter in temperature extremes.
Frozen Uno’s? That happened with the last one I made too. Except it was just sitting on the rack so the bottom ended up soggy with a hole in it as well. I’m guessing it thawed too much before we put it in.
I grew up near Chicago and I miss good deep dish! I had Lou Malnati’s shipped a couple of times before Uno’s came out with their grocery store version. It’s decent but the crust just isn’t quite there.
Did you just like, hand form the dough and throw it in the oven? The deep pan, or foil, helps the shape, keeps the crust from burning while letting the insides come to temp.
That is deep dish, famous for the deep dish it is cooked and served in.
Yep. There is important information in its name.
If only we could read!
"WHY WON'T IT REEEEEAD!!!"
Do you want the cuttlefish and asparagus or vanilla paste?
Cuttlefish!
VANILLA PASTUU
ITS GONNA BE ROT!!
KYOU I BERIEVE IN YOU!!!
WHO TOLD YOU TO REEEEAD IT!!...DO NOT REEEEAD IT!!
DO NOT REEEEDEEEM
I TOLD YOU NOT TO REEEAD IT!! WHY DID YOU REEAD!!?
Hey Chat, what does this say?
translating “your mom is gay”
Maaaaan, that shit was TIGHT
The read part on top is fine. It’s the chease fault
Sassy, I like it.
We aren’t archaeologists! You can’t expect us to know the meaning of these ancient words!
Ah, so the crust alone is not a containment vehicle?
Merely a medium so to speak..
That would just be a deep pizza.
I do believe the above picture answers your question
On the contrary, the crust is a containment vessel.
However, much like a cupcake being iced, being baked before hand is a very important prior step.
Yeah, but if it's frozen the instructions might not have called for a dish.
More likely, OP let it thaw too much before cooking it.
I mean haven't we learned here on Reddit that the reason you describe is the culprit in 99% of these posts
Idk I’ve never see a deep dish or Detroit style pizza come without a tray of its own to cook it in
Geno's East in the frozen section looks a lot like this and comes with no tray
I honestly don't remember the brand because they no longer sell it but I bought one from the grocery store several times that looked exactly like ops and it didn't.
I'm sad they don't have it anymore because that shit was phenomenal.

World bless you buddy, I also miss Chicago!
There are some that have a method for microwaving then cooking in the oven.
dibs on that burnt cheese
Yeah how good is burnt cheese!
It’s also very obvious this person regularly cooks greasy things on their pizza stone.

Right? This one is all OP's fault and could have been easily avoided. Even by using a cookie sheet which has a lip.
It's a frozen pizza that came without a dish
Not even an disposable aluminum pie pan? Sounds like a bad product.
My frozen pizzas usually say to place directly in the oven on the oven crate but I always use a cookie sheet because I don't trust it.
I place a baking sheet on the rack below the pizza rack to potentially catch any droppage.
If it was a Gino's East frozen pizza they say to do that on the instructions. I get them in Syracuse once or twice a season to watch a bears games. No one serves a pub style thin crust here.
Ya but this is deep dish.
This is true for normal crust but deep dish or PAN pizza specificity calls for a pan and they come with said pan usually aluminum little tray types cause you have to cook it with the pan or else it’s not as good and the companies know we don’t have deep dish pans

It’s a fine product. Most frozen pizzas have a pre-cooked or par cooked crust. Provides a nice stable platform
I live in Chicago and every respectable deep dish pizza comes in a proper container. Lou’s, Giordano’s, Geno’s East, and Nancy’s. What off-brand trash deep dish pizza did you buy?
Not sure if Geno's used to in the past, but I can confirm they don't currently.
Yea i just bought a Genos one not long ago and it didnt come with anything...but it was delicious. And didnt leak. It looks like OPs photo except his just looks like the cheese version not hte one with pepperoni i had.
You can scratch Gino's off the list.

I love that you blame the product. Keep up the good work.
I love that you think its anything else but the products fault.
Thanks Marie Callender's for ruining Thanksgiving
And this is why I love reddit lmao
You can buy deep dish frozen from various Chicago restaurants so you just throw it in the oven, no dish necessary
Nope… they all come with a foil pan.
I....genuinely never made that connection. My brain just goes "deep dish? Yes, pizza is a dish and its certainly deeper than flatbread. Makes sense to me!"
Tbf deep dish pizza is not something I commonly think about
This is great.
That’s going to be a pain to clean (the dirty oven door, I mean)
Mine is starting to look like that and I've been dragging my feet about cleaning it. I've seen online that you can put oven cleaner on it and saran wrap over it and let it sit for a while and it will come right off if you wait long enough
Someone here is going to see your message and run their oven with saran wrap inside the door - 100%.
With any luck it'll show up in Google AI overview too.
Coming from google, what temp should I use to clean my oven with the saran wrap?
700f
700C
For those who celebrate Celsius.
Before she changed her name from Centigrade. I used to know her
Experts agree — saran wrap your oven walls and turn it on!
Why would you do that?
Because sometimes the seasoning gets gross and it needs to be reseasoned.
This. Or if it flakes or rusts.
That oven thermometer looks like it's seen some shit. This was its Vietnam, and not its first tour.
Friendly reminder that most oven doors can be easily popped off for easier cleaning.
Was just about to say leaving it open to do this would probably be a major trip hazard, I've broken a dishwasher this way when I was younger 😅
And on some, the inner glass pane can also be individually removed too. Just be careful not to use scrapers or scourers on them... many have a special coating which will get removed, and more importantly, even small scratches can cause it to shatter in temperature extremes.
Edit: I'm truly mystified by the downvotes...
was about to say, based on the door, this isnt a big deal, just close it and let the mess bake for 90 more minutes lol
Its under the sauce
Where's the cheese?
It's under the sauce
I'm Italian and this is hurting me
It’s from Chicago
But… it’s just sauce!
The cheese is under the sauce
that’s not enough cheese!
In this case it’s all over the oven
ITS UNDER THE SAUCE
Real "milk in the bowl before the cereal" energy
It's not delivery, it's a disaster.
It’s digioh-no
The Digimon do not approve 😞
Pretty sure a deep dish pizza is suppose to be…in a deep dish…
The Gino’s East frozen pizzas I love don’t tell you to use anything, instructions say straight on the rack, and this has never happened.
Same. I just put foil underneath to prevent stuff like this
Do you live on a slant? How did that happen
That is not a pizza.
it's soup on a bread bowl
Deep dish is good but, yes, it’s not pizza. It’s cheese pie.
It's tomato pie
Youre not a pizza
Almost like it’s a bowl of soup and not actually pizza
Yeah... this is really stretching what "pizza" is
Would have been a pizza if they had the bowl you're supposed to cook it in
Yeah when I think pizza, I don’t think “bowl”
That makes it a flan not a pizza.
Sir, that is no Pizza
It’s a fucking casserole. I’m surprised you haven’t thought to complete your deep dish pizza by putting some canned onion rings on top.
It don’t whether to eat it or toss in a coin and make a wish. 🤌🏼
Maybe they can cut it open like a Tauntaun and sleep inside to stay warm. Gabagool! 🤌
Lemme tell you something else about your not-a-fuggin-pizza…
Only wish I have right now for them to not call it pizza.
....and I'd wish for some reeeeal fuck-ing pizzaaaaa!
It is a chicago style deep dish pizza and it looks amazing
And should be cooked in a deep dish.
I think that’s a lasagna maybe?
That looks like a Gino’s East brand deep dish pizza.
In the baking instructions, it is advised to place an additional baking sheet beneath the pizza to collect anything that might fall.
Self-inflicted.
Don't think I would eat anything coming from that oven
You put a deep dish on a flat stone....
that's not pizza that's cheese soup in a bread bowl. also it goes in a pan.
You deserved this.
Oh that is so sad! Your pizza got sick and threw up all over the oven!
That’s not pizza
It’s a fucking disgrace
Is your oven on an incline?
Isn't it supposed to be in a deep pan?
Serves you right for trying to make that casserole
Damn! Beat me to it.
Had to scroll way too far to finally find this.
Your casserole spilled cheese.
you tried hide it under all that sauce and it ran away... be free cheese be free...
Just get a microwave pizza...this isn't for you
Real issue here is you mistook a lasagna for a pizza
Uno frozen pizza? Had one of those do that to me recently too, but not as bad, luckily - they are good when they don't leak
That's a pie!
As it should. Any Chicago style pizza is an abomination, you heathen 😭
Edit: Downvote me all you want but I will forever stand by this. A hill worth dying on.
That. Isn’t pizza.
Your what?
Not sure you were cooking but that certainly wasn't pizza.
Your savory cake relieved itself…
That's not pizza, it's a casserole.
Pizza???
"pizza"
My BUCKET leaked cheese.
That is not pizza, that is a cheese pie
This is what Chicago style deserves.
Chicago style pizza sucks. And I’m tired of pretending it doesn’t.
yup
Isn't that a pie or something? Whatever it is, it's offended by you calling it a pizza, and rightfully so.
That’s not a pizza.
That’s a casserole …
That’s a casserole not a pizza
"Where pizza" - The rest of the world
That's not a pizza
Deep dish pizza is a poor excuse for tomato soup in a bread bowl.
A lot of you have never had a good Chicago deep dish pizza and it shows. I feel sorry for you.
A lot of us have never had unicorn steak, either.
as a New Yorker...
This is not pizza, nor was it ever pizza
I can smell this picture
I had a craving for lou malnatis the other day and checked goldbelly. $169 for a 4 pack.....
Or at least use the pan right side up
Has to be cooked IN the dish, deep dish pizza
I would give up on life. But, that's just me
Almost like they make a specific deep dish(more like a pan) to cook chicago deep dish in
That's not pizza. That's bread with cheese and marinara sauce
Why is there a clock in your oven? Some kindo Dali business going on here
thermometer
TBH: every time I see these posts, the only thing I get from them is, that they don’t want to clean their ovens
*their
I highly recommend using a deep dish pizza pan to make a deep dish pizza.
Wrong pan dumb ass
How do you forget the deep dish in your deep dish pizza??
that's not a pizza
It's not pizza; it's an above-ground swimming pool for rats!
When i passout on my pizza, I know i won't drown in it
Sorry, did you call that a Pizza?
There is not pizza in this picture
Casserole*
Your casserole leaked cheese.
that's not a pizza, it's a pie.
https://preview.redd.it/s0rha8ukbp6g1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de3f64355a9a36785b5ec57f162cc651ef20314d
“It’s a fuckin’ casserole!”
This bit from the daily show always goes through my head every time deep dish is brought up lol.
I wanna know when I get drunk and pass out on my pizza that I’m not gonna drown
Lol how does that even happen?
failing to put the deep dish pizza in the aforementioned deep dish
That isn't Rances pizza by chance?
Uno frozen pizza
my moneys on a Rao deep dish, cheese.
Is that the famous deep dish from Giordano's in Chicago?
When you have to take a leak, you have to take a leak
Why does this look like one of those weird art pieces lol.
Sorry about your pizza, though, op :(
This guy made a Deep Dish Pizza, hold the deep dish
[removed]
Burned cheese though!🤤
Happens to the best of us
Well, that sucks.
Did you just like, hand form the dough and throw it in the oven? The deep pan, or foil, helps the shape, keeps the crust from burning while letting the insides come to temp.
Where's the cheese?
Still looks delicious
Gino's East is heading south real quick.
Oh honey, no!
