His name is JHON in the app. Delivered to my neighbor then helped himself to my package on the way out. Shout-out to Ontrac for delivering to the lobby and not my front door. Filed a police report and filed a report with doordash and my neighbor is also trying to get him banned. Enjoy the winter jackets you jerk.
On top of that OnTrac sucks.
Pretty much, they already got back to me saying their driver successfully completed delivery despite leaving it in the lobby.
Is the table the package was on not used for dropoffs?
The drivers sometimes do use it for that but they should be bringing it to peoples doors. We have an elevator so they aren't don't have to climb stairs or anything.
In my experience, delivery drivers are not expected or required to drop it at your door when your door is not accessible to the outside.
Obviously, this varios with location.
It's tough to expect a driver, who may be getting paid by the package or some sort of quota, to take extra time to go into an unfamiliar building and find your door. Unfortunately, there's also not much you can do about it with the front desk at most places.
Its also pretty risky as a delivery person to get trapped in a building. I dont do delivery but I would be concious of going deep into blocks of flats.
Especially when there is literally no parking available to you so you had to leave your truck somewhere less than ideal.
They have to come inside the building to put it on the table. I understand what you mean but they also shouldn't be surprised if there are consequences to not delivering it to the exact address. I'm not really mad at the driver for leaving it where he did but my building has a lot of elderly people who may not be able to just easily go get their package.
Nah at every condo I live in they deliver to the lobby and I pick it up there.. I also used to work for UPS during the holiday season in college. We never went up any elevator in an apartment or Condo
Ups and FedEx always deliver to our doorsteps 🤷🏼♀️
How tall is your building? Think about a Delivery driver trying to deliver packages to a 10,20,30 story building? Most condos have an office to drop packages off
3 stories.
let them downvote you. i lived in a 3story apt and they brought every package to each door. its not the same everywhere but Redditors are always right ya know
The difference is that you were experiencing a particularly kind driver that likely had extra time on their route to do that for you, not that delivery-to-door is standard every where.
Your anecdotal experience is outside the norm, not the other way around.
People just suck at their jobs. If I had to do the same thing so many times it would become second nature to me to do it right and fast. These people just cut corners to do less and less.
I understand the toxic work culture here in the U.S. but find something else to do instead of spreading your misery in your work.
This is just one example of a bad driver. There are plenty of good drivers out there that just want to get your shit to you in a timely manner. Ask me how I know?
Wait you guys have the delivery guys coming to your doorstep even if you live in a high rise ?
That's crazy to me, in here (france) they're waiting for you to come down.
I think high rises usually have mail rooms but I don't know for sure, my building is older and only 3 stories.
They aren't required to take the trip up to whatever level and place the package at the door.
Ontrac “delivered” a $1200 tv to my house at 3 am. It wasn’t there, of course, and fortunately I have security cameras on my house and on my car so clearing it up with Amazon was quick.
If I can ever avoid buying from someone that uses them, I will.
Bro OnTrac seems to hire the most scumbag people ever. If they aren't stealing your package they are hot boxxing their car making all the packages smell like weed lol.
hope he gets fired
For starters; he should get charged for that.
agreed
what if he has the same name and thought "well thats odd but okay, I am carlos perez"
He'd have to be a special kind of dumb in that case, 'cause he wouldn't have the same address. Seeing as how he had to get buzzed in and all.
Dumb enough to look at a camera and then steal
With a record of being there with doordash too. What a fool.
From a canon
Into the sun.
Without sunglasses.
Love your energy
definitely not from a nikon
Arrested
Do these morons not know there are cameras everywhere?
I don’t think they care. This guy looked straight at the camera at the door. He knew he had already been recorded when grabbing the parcel… not bothering to look around for more cameras.
There are many groups that make one door dash profile and share it amongst different individuals.
There's no proof doordash actually has any of this guy's information.
Police could already have an ongoing investigation about him. Likely it was not the first time in front of camera for that guy, maybe not the last 🤔
A picture in a video aren't going to do any good if no one knows this person's name.
The reason he's being so bold stealing while working for doordashes because it's probably not his doordash profile it's someone else's.
Someone knows his name, for sure. Now we need some patience. Sooner or later he will get caught and find photos of himself at the local police station.
Then he will be PUNISHED.
That's not how real life works. The cops won't give a shit about some random porch pirate.
Which country do you live in? 🤔
These porch pirates are real POS
I'm guessing he is going to sell them, check marketplace. Hard to tell but looks like he is on something.
Send him a note back that we have you on Camera. Return the jackets or we call the police.
At this point I don't want them back. My neighbor is working on her end to get his account banned I've already made a police report
Can you contact your bank for a refund?
[deleted]
I did read, I was asking if she could get a refund on her stolen items.
[deleted]
I didn’t say contact the seller. Did you read at all? I said the bank. It was stolen. If the bank issues the refund they will go after the thief. I have had this happen. The bank gave me my money and used the footage to go after the thief. Now leave me alone and worry about insulting other people.
Yeah I have no idea what they are going on about. I did contact Columbia to let them know the package was stolen but Doordash has contacted me to refund the package so I let Columbia know it's been taken care of.
I’m glad DoorDash took care of it. Sorry that happened though.
[deleted]
Tell that to the Xfinity guy who was driving the Xfinity truck and still stole the package from the neighbor.
It’s 2025. And you seriously think an apartment complex has zero cameras especially on ground lvl .. 🥱
You people need to start doing hand deliveries WITH A PIN more often.
I actually like these because I know for sure I'm delivering to the correct person. Sucks when they send someone else down who doesn't know the PIN and they have to run back upstairs or call to get it.
Now that I can understand it being an issue humans be humans. But it can help with reducing stolen food for sure.
He brought it to their door and then grabbed it on his way out so it wouldn't have helped in this case.
I get it but maybe meet them at the car or nearby the lobby. Maybe be downstairs already if you know you have food coming so they don't have to come into the lobby. This honestly could've been avoided.
I agree, I never use these services because I don't want to pay the fees and risk my food being tampered with.
I think you're missing the part where OPs neighbour was the one that ordered food.
OP ordered the parcel and had nothing to do with the Dasher
I absolutely did miss that part. I thought OP ordered the food and the parcel was a neighbor's. Brain fart on my end.
It would be surprisingly difficult to deliver parcels efficiently and on time only when people are at home receiving them personally.
i swear ppl camp in this subreddit just waiting to victim blame 😂 yall wild
With the new Name Your Tip Tool - Door dashers can choose how they get tipped
Give and take there
since you have footage the cops should be able to make an arrest right?
Dumb fuck.
You already contacted the police why are you sharing now this video in every sub possible?
Get a Job! Oh, he already has one
Call the police.
I know companies use third parties to delivery goods but ill never use these services that have random people delivering to my house
Anyone you don't know delivering crap to your house is a random person
So, every single delivery service from doordash to Amazon ..
And yet no videos of home depot guys stealing my shit. The post office guy stealing my shit.
Its always a doordash person because ANYONE can sign up and go do it. There's no hiring through a company. Jk accountability when a person is attached to a business or company
1 of the many reasons I don’t shop online.
He probably didn't expect a camera on top of that shelf. He did look around for cameras
There is also a camera right over the package if you zoom in where the wall meets the ceiling, and cameras at the end of each hallway and one in the driveway. The outdoor ones have bright lights attached, they aren't trying to hide them.
That’s what you get for ordering door dash you dingus
You can't read sir.
