  • Amateur guitar player here that's only been learning for about 3-4 years, with hopes of learning how to mix and put together my own stuff.

Lately, I've been working on tracking guitars for a cover song that I'd like to put together, which is only my second ever attempt at recording and mixing a song. And despite some of the riffs being kinda tricky, and despite the fact that I'm quad tracking my rhythm guitars, I've yet to hear any weird dissonance from my mediocre playing/ timing.

I'm baffled by what's going on, because I'm positive I'm still absolute dogshit at guitar, but I'm stunned that I've been tracking multiple guitar takes that line up well with each other. 😂

Congrats! It's fun when things hit just right

    an unfinished loop,
a bad take you’ll delete later
    they all count.

    Most songs don’t start inspired.
    They start worked on.

    Show up.
    Touch the project.
Leave it slightly better than yesterday.

    Future-you will thank you
