After around 3-4 months my pockets mouthpiece started to feel sticky an tacky like wax was on it but it doesn’t wash off. The silicone is leaching something out of it that is very sticky and tacky like old rubber. Has anyone else had this happen? I don’t iso soak it and just wipe it down with a cotton swab and iso to clean I don’t get why it degraded so quickly. It’s to the point my unit is not usable and it has be questioning the safety of this silicone when buying a replacement mouthpiece.
So strange and I’ll never understand companies using silicone for vaping hardware. I can’t stand the fact that the mouthpiece is silicone.
Same here I can’t stand it. The price point I got the pocket for at 53 bucks made me go back on me saying I won’t ever use it and this just affirms why I don’t use it.
I’ve seen rubber that is years old and cheap start to leach the oils or something the glues that are in it but this is only a few months old 4 at most that is just ridiculous an it has me questioning using the material at all. Just sucks I have to buy a new one to sell the thing now as no one would buy it without a mouthpiece. Or maybe one of the people who think it was wax might? I just wish I went with the dr dabber ghost now.
Eventually weed resins will make it though silicone.
I have an old silicone dab container, found it yesterday after a year in a drawer. It’s all leached through the silicone.
?!? My guy, ive pulled out shatter from 3 years ago with zero damage to the silicone container. Is your stuff off gassing butane or other solvent still?
I found some stuff online that have found out that it’s the terpenes. One study specifically mentions limolene(sp).
Shatter doesn’t hav much terps so it makes sense.
That said I’ve also see silicone flower pipes start getting sticky on the outside from the resin inside breaking down the silicone
This is the silicon leaching sticky material not from the dabs.

I know it’s not that because it started on the outside of the mouthpiece. I know what you’re talking about with storing wax in silicone and it changing a bit.
Sounds like you are loading way too fat, silicone doesn't degrade like that...that sticky stuff is your concentrate turning into reclaim. You absolutely must ISO soak the mouth piece for at least 30 mins then let it air dry or wipe it down with a dry cloth or towel. Try rice grain size dabs next time
Im not. I have iso soaked the mouthpiece and the stickiness started on the outside of it not the inside this is not wax. You have never felt rubber degrade and get sticky??? It is exactly that.
And I know how to use the device. Why would you think it getting wax spilled over would make the entire mouthpiece sticky and not come off with iso

I just got mine a few weeks ago and at OP’s suggestion I got the silver one. Zero off taste and I’m enjoying it🤘🏼 I’m OCD AF so I clean it daily plus I’m using hash rosin. I don’t like silicone mouthpieces but I got mine for $65 roughly half the cost of a Pivot. I wish someone would make an affordable wax pen with a glass mouthpiece!
The mouthpiece is the main issue. I’m glad the silver didn’t have any off tastes and I was right about the color being not as bad. Just sucks it doesn’t seem like the best quality silicone as it didn’t last very long before degrading like how I’m describing.

I’m hoping it was a one off thing and it won’t happen to everyone else. I did use it very heavily but I mean it’s silicone it shouldn’t degrade like that for years.
