Eastern Europe used to be one of my favorite maps in the game and has progressively gotten worse and worse by flattening the hill, changing the cap layouts, changing the building layouts, turning the vegetation and clutter up to 11, etc.
Real! The gameplay on the hill flank feels so odd, and the flattening of it just encourages spawn camping really. I'm not sure why they felt they had to change things instead of just updating assets. I dunno tho maybe some people like it
This is the worst map, you can spawn camp across the map into all spawns, you can sit on the bottom right spawn in the outer edge with hill cover in G8. You can spawn trap F7 from E3, you can cross map into c1 spawn from A6.
Some guy was camping in A1 on the map limits with a losat covered in bushes and had completely open view of the field and made a massacre but no one knew where it was coming from and no one was able to scout him for CAS, I found out where he was through the replay, great map design.
The only reason it's somewhat playable is because it contains small poland and that map isn't terrible. The surroundings add nothing and only waste time
Ardennes wide cap is one of the worst maps in the game, both sides can see into each others spawn within 10 metres of spawning in. At higher BR’s with LRF’s and rounds like APDS or APFSDS just getting out of spawn can be a gamble.
All maps made by gaijin are maps ruined by gaijin, i swear the devs don't know how to make maps, i feel like the same person balancing russian autoloader/ammo hitboxes made the maps
Just because they can go there doesn't mean they should. Of course, physically restricting access to those parts of the map where players shouldn't go is better, and using a red zone is a lazy solution, but it doesn't make the map worse than if you could drive there.
Pretty much all of them...moment they introduced red zones, grrased hills and other types of fuckery that makes the game more linear...game got worse...
All of them. I used to have so much fun creeping around the map, flanking positions, setting up ambushes... all of it really. Now the maps are all specifically designed to mindlessly funnel you into 3 points. If people wanted to mindlessly shoot tanks without any sense of tactics, gaijin should have let them play WOT.
Arcade should imo have been the focus for the more mindless shooting. The whole point of the arcade/rb/sb (or semi real/full real for the OGs) split was to make sure everyone had a gameplay style that scratched their itch. Over time (with air and ground both), RB became the main gamemode, and gaijin started to make compromises to please a wider audience for the one gamemode. This is why we're in the state we are today.
White castle...
Man fuck these players crying about spawn camp - 95% of them were stupid newbies who only rushed to the middle capture point and therefore loosing to flankers.
This map was the best way for beginners to effectively learn about the importance of flanking and spreading.
Also this one map with the docks, dunno the name right now. Where the rush to C point was essential at match start but could be easily counterplayed if ppl just used the flanks and coverage from the buildings.
They had so many good maps which heavily rewarded flanking and tactics.
But no... Every map had to be dumbed down for the casual German, US and Russia mains in order to sell more premiums to them.
The old expanded Tunisia layout. It was so cool and unique with all the massive rolling sand dunes, and the differences in elevation. But then gaijin said “uhhhhhh Russian tanks suffer on this map uhhhhh”
All these huuuge fields-like maps make me escape from the battle immediately. Even if they increased vehicle cooldown period to 60 minutes or 24 hours, doesn’t matter, I won’t waste time on it.
The top left of this map exactly allows you to see cross map to the bottom right spawn. Ngl it overlooks A and some parts of C (if some tress are cleared towards B). It offers the highest possible point with a ton of tree cover to hide your thermal signature.
Small Poland when they moved the C cap across the lake. It made the C cap position way to strong while also only being good for the left team. Now you can sit in the cap and snipe people leaving both spawns while hull down, but the other team has to be exposed to the enemy spawn just to cap.
Think it's called Fields of Normandy or something? Tiny map with no real cover but loads of bushes to hide in.
Not sure what it's like at top tier but up to 8.0 that map is a pain. You can spawn trap super easily and if there's a good CAS pilot there's really nothing you can do against them. Depending on their graphic settings the trees/bushes will provide minimal concealment while blocking your vision of the approaching planes, whereas if you stand in the open you're even easier to kill.
Eastern Europe used to be one of my favorite maps in the game and has progressively gotten worse and worse by flattening the hill, changing the cap layouts, changing the building layouts, turning the vegetation and clutter up to 11, etc.
The vegetation and bridges killed it for me. Was one of my favourite maps to play. I swear they are turning every map into a clash royale arena
It used to be one of my favourites for low tier, but the bridges getting broken sucked so much fun out of it.
Real! The gameplay on the hill flank feels so odd, and the flattening of it just encourages spawn camping really. I'm not sure why they felt they had to change things instead of just updating assets. I dunno tho maybe some people like it
I didn't think it was possible to make that map worse, but then again I've had it banned for the last 7 years, so what do I know?
You have activated my Spinal Tap syndrome
Russian vehicles have one major flaw which is depression, so gaijin makes every map as flat as possible to counter that flaw
[deleted]
There are instances of bias but this is not it.
It is simply people want to play cod in tank, and that's the end of it.
No matter the topic there will always be an idiot crying about Russian tanks
90% of the maps are poorly designed
*proceeds to show one of the best maps especially for top tier*
This is the worst map, you can spawn camp across the map into all spawns, you can sit on the bottom right spawn in the outer edge with hill cover in G8. You can spawn trap F7 from E3, you can cross map into c1 spawn from A6.
The map is poorly made
It has its flaws, but it’s 1000% better than Sweden or any of those stupid CoD style city maps.
yeah but ill take it over another cramped or urban map
I will take CSGO over pixel shooting competition
You mean like any other game in existence?
Sun city is pretty fun imo
Especially since the bridges and such giving elevation and cover that other city maps don't.
Awful corridor and corner peek map. Wet dream of autocannons.
You mean No Fun City?
Skill issue city
From which non cqc map CANT you spawn camp from across the map?
Oh wow wtf never even thought about going there or experienced that my self
Some guy was camping in A1 on the map limits with a losat covered in bushes and had completely open view of the field and made a massacre but no one knew where it was coming from and no one was able to scout him for CAS, I found out where he was through the replay, great map design.
Not even close lmao. It's not the worst map, but also isn't close to the best.
The only reason it's somewhat playable is because it contains small poland and that map isn't terrible. The surroundings add nothing and only waste time
I like this map
Ardennes wide cap is one of the worst maps in the game, both sides can see into each others spawn within 10 metres of spawning in. At higher BR’s with LRF’s and rounds like APDS or APFSDS just getting out of spawn can be a gamble.
Is large Ardennes still in map rotation? I think I haven't seen it for a while.
That one cargo port layout which is literally just Clash Royale
Feel you on that, forcing us to ram into each other and no possibility of flanking or outmanoeuvring the enemies
It quite literally is just clash, 2 opposing spawns with 2 choke points to advance
All maps made by gaijin are maps ruined by gaijin, i swear the devs don't know how to make maps, i feel like the same person balancing russian autoloader/ammo hitboxes made the maps
Most obvious one is Karelia, I hope whoever came up with LEAVE THE AREA IN 25 contracts both cancer & HIV.
In Air RB the Zhengzhou map used to have an excellent trench run. Then Gaijin removed that.
Where the fuck did you manage to find red zones on Karelia (besides the ones when you fall from the cliffs)?
Half of Karelia is red. What Karelia are you playing? Can I join you?
You mean the hills behind the spawns? Why would they not be red?
Because it's perfectly possible for a tank to go up there, and also because they didn't use to be red.
Just because they can go there doesn't mean they should. Of course, physically restricting access to those parts of the map where players shouldn't go is better, and using a red zone is a lazy solution, but it doesn't make the map worse than if you could drive there.

The removal of east side flanking route on sands of Sinai, flattening of sands of Tunisia and the removal of white fortress.
The large Tunisia map, they removed all the elevation from the outer hills. And sands of Sinai, when they red zoned the hill
All of them in one way or another
This map before was literally just flat.
Kursk, it was once a nice wide open map that was good for long range fights. Now its got so much clutter that takes away that.
White castle... Man fuck these players crying about spawn camp - 95% of them were stupid newbies who only rushed to the middle capture point and therefore loosing to flankers.

White rock fortress had a major other issue. It was muddy as hell and some tanks couldn't access main areas of the map because it was so slippery.
It only became too slippery after Gaijin nerfed traction to ridiculous levels. The shittification of White Rock was entirely self created.
The big version of that map was something to behold.
The old expanded Tunisia layout. It was so cool and unique with all the massive rolling sand dunes, and the differences in elevation. But then gaijin said “uhhhhhh Russian tanks suffer on this map uhhhhh”
They actually made Fields of Poland good, before it was like Eastern Europe, just open fields, absolutely atrocious.
An example of a map Gaijin ruined is White Rock Fortress, simply because they just removed it.
All these huuuge fields-like maps make me escape from the battle immediately. Even if they increased vehicle cooldown period to 60 minutes or 24 hours, doesn’t matter, I won’t waste time on it.
Kuban, Kursk and Mozdok were my favourite maps when tanks were first implemented, but they’ve been ruined at least for me.
yep hate this layout, 1 death leave everytime
This map was always dogshit
imo they made Vietnam worse. First by removing the trees, then by removing Hanoi Hannah.
The top left of this map exactly allows you to see cross map to the bottom right spawn. Ngl it overlooks A and some parts of C (if some tress are cleared towards B). It offers the highest possible point with a ton of tree cover to hide your thermal signature.
The original Kursk map.
Small Poland when they moved the C cap across the lake. It made the C cap position way to strong while also only being good for the left team. Now you can sit in the cap and snipe people leaving both spawns while hull down, but the other team has to be exposed to the enemy spawn just to cap.
Idk about ruined but I lowkey like advance to the rhine for low and mid tier. It’s kinda fun for cqc
Can't ruin a pile of shit, by adding more shit to it.
Fire arc, the literal worst map of all time and no other map even remotely compariable imho.
That would require them to be good in first place
abandoned factory
Mozdok
