So today I did all 3 Apex bosses (Janus Captain Vor, The Fragmented One, and the Apex Tank) for the chest piece. I tested a few different approaches, but honestly, health tanking was by far the most effective in my runs.
Janus Captain Vor kills:
3 total 2× Valkyr Prime 1× Loki Prime
From my testing, health tanking is the simplest and most reliable solution. You don’t really need abilities—just any form of life steal.
I ran a heavy attack / combo Okina build and basically just face-tanked while spamming melee until they died.
If you’re struggling, just bring your usual SP Valkyr build (or any health tank with Arcane Persistence) and swap crit damage for Life Strike on your Tennokai melee.
No abilities, no energy management, no companions, no weird setup—just hit them until they fall over.
Hope this helps someone.
As someone who used a health-tank Limbo against Janus Vor for the Accolade, I can confirm.
Hirudo works really well against Vor, especially with Condition Overload and a primer.
For the Fragmented One and the tank, yeah, health tank is the way to go. I wouldn't say to run Persistence though because it can be negated by the attacks that would inflict the magnetic, even if you're status immune.
Wait, even if you're status immune? How does that even work?? I was planning on using it with Oraxia's 4 but guess not
Now, Superbosses have a magnetic proc on certain attacks, and this has always been the case. Superbosses also always have had the ability to cancel buff-bases abilities and disable further ability casting, and that effect is on the same attacks as the Magnetic.
Oraxia's 4 counts as one that would get negated by the effect, and because this effect is independent of magnetic, is not removed by status immunity, even from an invigoration.
But the magnetic arcane, or a plain immunity ability would still work right?
Abilities don't work because ability nullification is independent from the magnetic proc, so any ABILITY that leaves you immune to statuses would be cancelled as well.
But the magnetic arcane does stop you from being affected by the magnetic, yes. And in normal missions, this means Persistence works in all cases- except for the ones where it doesn't, like Scrambus or Nullifier enemies.
Gotcha, so bringing the magnetic arcane would be useful in those fights...
I had tried this yesterday and only for this in got the 21 arcanes from the event but it does not help. You will still g etc ability disabled. Kinda disappointing.
Ik abilities will be disabled, but does arcane persistence get disabled while magnetic arcane is blocking mag procs?
Yes
I think being nullified deactivates it took so having abilities turned off by the boss attacks probably deactivates the arcane too
This here is 100% correct. Just read the description of Persistence- "Magnetic Status or Ability Nullifying Effects disable the protection". The superboss attacks that have Magnetic have a Nullifying Effect on them as well, so Persistence doesn't work too well. However, Nullifier is still good, as magnetic hurts your shields (you could beat every superboss as Hildryn FYI, not just health-tank) and energy. Even with Rage/Hunter Adrenaline, it never hurts to only lose energy through the occasional ability or through Gladiator Finesse/Quick Thinking energy-as-health.
Didn't know that about the persistence, thank you.
Okay I know this is insanely unrelated but "Health tank limbo" hit me square in my face I NEED to know how that works I am so curious
1k armor, rest in health, adaptation and the 60% electricity resistance mod.
Hirudo to heal to full on each attack.
Guardian and Grace for arcanes.
The setup does require shards.
Nah actually I ran Nullifier and Blessing, the electric wasn't am issue
Yea it 1 shot me on a tank inaros build initially
Real, I just got the new chest piece and can’t wait to run it back on all the Apex bosses again as a Tank Limbo. Hopefully the new arcane’s can make it a little easier this time around, looking at you 👀 new duration arcane.
Persistence doesn’t work on the super bosses. Just slap guardian and grace arcanes on the build. Bunch of health and armor mods. Use (coda) hirudo and punch them to death.
That's correct. My bad.
for vor specifically you can also slap Lightning Rod on too for another 60% dr, which is multiplicative with adaptation, ability dr, and armor dr
Pardon my ignorance but what do you all mean by accolades ? What cheat piece would you be referring to ?
Accolades- 3 SP Enhance bosses requires you to defeat them solo with certain Frames to gain a Glyph for those Frames.
Chest Piece- there is a new chest piece that you can get in the new shop in La Cathedrale post ToP Quest. It has 20 challenges, 3 of those is equipping the corresponding chest piece level with the challenge to defeat the specific SP Enhanced boss.

The other way to cheese it up is caliban modded for max duration and strength, high shields, and the lowest recharge delay possible.
Would I be able to make this work for the Vor fight with Hildryn? That is the only glyph I want, I don't care about the chest piece 😂
Just put on as many of these as you can: Patagium, Aviator, Aerodynamic, Boreal Set, Adaptation, Rolling Guard, Fast Deflection, Vigilante Vigor, Arcane Nullifier, Arcane Aegis. Bring your Dual Tox or Burston, aim glide and pew pew. As long as you're in the air you are near impossible to kill. Shoot the golden orb when he summons it.
Lightning Rod also provides 60% electricity resistance, which his 2nd phase fight has a ton of
I will give it another go at some point. From memory it was the middle section that stopped me last time 😂
I used a laetum when i did them with Hildryn a week ago, works just fine as well, or even her balefire as that also damage bosses
She is pretty damn good agaunst them. I found rolling guard, vazarin and wyrms anti status+shield boosts gave me extra layers of defense that helped a ton
Yes, I did it with shield recharge delay + shield mods + adaptation + arcane aegis + arcane nullifier. You end up so tanky that even the post-9 minute penalty doesn’t take you out
That's how I did all of the accolades (except Hildryn, who was by far the hardest because of it)
Oh, you fool... Rakta Dark Dagger and just maximizing shield capacity had me finding Hildryn practically the easiest. But yeah, Health-tanking works.
Hildryn has enormous EHP compared to a regular makeshift health tank. With is she the hardest?
Probably a mix of being new to the fight and to relying on shields, I started without using Nullifier, got blown out twice while Aegis wasn't up, and once ran out of ammo and restarted. In comparison Limbo was two tries because his passive messed up the turret phase, and the others were first try - before Hildryn I only completed it "casually" with Grendel and was then expecting it to be the easiest one, so we can add overconfidence to the list too I guess.
Health tankings been effective for a bit now, glad to see it catching on though. Ive been power stomping most things in game with a Chroma build thats just damage reduction, health tanking and abusing the Trumna Prime. I might be toxic for saying it, but the best part is having people who try to clown me because, Chroma, and within 5 mins im ressing them for the 4th or 5th time because they failed to proc rolling guard and my build reduces almost all damage to 1 per instance, its a grossly delicious feeling.
I have never used melee without Life Strike + Tennokai since Tennokai release. "Local man is fucking invincible"-build
After trying different setups I found that the easiest way to tackle Apex bosses is stacking airborne damage reduction (Boreal, Aviator, Aerodynamic), aim glide duration/no-gravity and just stay in the air permanently. Arcane nullifier is mandatory. Works on every frame and every boss.
It's the same concept (tanking), but for those who have it, shield is much easier to replenish with Arcane Aegis and the two recharge delay reduction mods.
Chest piece?

Welp, time to finally get the Jade glyph ig
Wait... vor has an apex boss? Since when? Did they rework him on one of my breaks?
Yeah they did back in June
Well butter my biscuit, gonna look into that. Thank you
L
Why have people started calling these apex bosses or superbosses? Aren't they just... bosses?
Also persistance is pretty worthless below 2k.
Because they're the harder variants of their normal selves?
And the tank is literally called H-09 apex when activating the harder variant.
