As far as I can tell, Tenno are the only ones with the capabilities of actually creating Warframes, as we kill anyone who tries to utilize the tech for themselves- Alad V is the only one who managed to capture a Warframe alive, and can probably sell it for hundreds of millions
Think of it like a player selling their founder's account- people would pay a lot irl for the chance to flex an Excalibur Prime
I got offered $4500 a few years ago. Im a master founder, dont even have the lato. This isnt a random online its someone i know and have played other games with for years.
(I have zero interest in ever selling my account btw)
That's actually a pretty bad deal in some ways. Like if you've spent 1000 hours playing and grinding, that's $10 per hour. Someone who's been playing for 12 years could easily have between 3 and 10 times that amount of hours. Subtract any actual money you've spent and there's way easier ways to make $10k.
It's an entertainment product, you didn't spend that time "working" unless you went into it with the intent to sell it (which I doubt any founder did), so you can't compare it to an actual job. Most of the games we ever play we spend more money on than we make because we exchange it for the entertainment it gives us.
Like if you got paid 5 dollars an hour in your free time doing whatever you wanted to do anyway, would you complain that it's less than minimum wage? That's the comparison.
It runs deeper than that. The lotus is the mastermind behind everything going on in the origin system. We can't go outright wipe out the grineer or corpus and nor can they get hands on warframes or orokin tech easily , all because of her schemes.
Ik this is a meme but for those who don’t know plat probably doesn’t have that much value to them as they can‘t go to warframe market nor buy any prime sets and stuff because they’re enemies of warframes and tennos,
it is likely a higher form of currency used by high ranking corpus in ways we do not know clearly as of yet
Edit: thanks a lot for so many likes I’ve never gotten this many from a single comment
I also live in NZ and thats not really true, meth is much more widely accessible than cocaine in NZ because cocaine is largely imported by cartels or overseas which is difficult with our isolation. Meth is easy to be made shit and nasty.
Both meth and cocaine are absurdly expensive and can go around $200+ nzd a gram for good meth and bad cocaine which is why synthetics and nangs are becoming more popular because it’s much cheaper and more easily accessible.
My bad I personally can get cocaine cheaper than meth so I’m not very worldly on accessibility but yeah from what I’ve heard meth is much easier to come by. Just didn’t know cocaine was more expensive. I know my guy would give me a great deal and it’s quite a bit cheaper I just thought more people do meth because of the accessibility. The more you know I guess
As someone who has known quite a few tweakers in his time; meth is CHEAP. Cocaine is wayyyy more expensive, and can’t be made in your house with supplies sourced from wal-mart
Generally speaking, it’s not the cost of meth that leads these people to ruin their lives; it’s the way meth rewires your brain and makes you batshit insane from lack of sleep while simultaneously being more awake than you’ve ever been. Those successful construction dudes don’t go broke because they’re spending everything on meth, they go broke because they lose the ability to manage a business and start losing jobs, missing bids and doing faulty work. Or just not showing up to work at all because you’re three days in on a week long bender
I do food delivery (Uber eats) in the ghetto and this sometimes contains "parcels" the last parcel i had was a tube of m&ms that a grimy looking guy handed me standing off to the side of the building where the pickup was scheduled. The tube was filled to the brim with meth and those hold 35grams of m&ms. I threw it out my window cause im not getting caught up in all that for $11 and canceled the delivery. But at a 100 a g I could of afforded mag prime and had plat to spare lol
Think its like 20 at glass grade. But I wasn't risking catching a felony for food delivery. Let alone trying to move it myself. The drug of choice in the area is crack/coke with fenty which is surprising since thats like 40 a hg and risks killing yourself with. But im not gonna try to logic the local zombies.
Yeah but in other countries they don’t tend to have welfare plans that give as much to homeless people. Their homeless people are broke broke especially in America.
It's pretty much mass produced in and sold out of trailer parks for the low low price of whatever a Walmart sack of copper scrap is worth. Or a catalytic converter, for bulk orders. Truckers are big buyers too, from what i understand.
well thank you for the business idea! pick it up for dirt cheep in America, and sell in New Zealand... AND as a bonus, I get frequent flyer miles! Only downside is how much my colon gets stretched with the kilo's i'd be importing! Can one even fit 40+ kilograms inside themself at a time?? HAHAHAHA
Well, plat probably isn't less valuable to them. Darvo, who runs the market that Tenno use, is discounting everything that we buy because he's sympathetic to our cause. Plat represents real money for us, so it probably represents assets in a similar fashion to gold.
Warframes are just much more valuable to non-Tenno. Plus, the Mag still had its Operator connected.
Especially when you look at the population of the star system, or even just corpus populations alone. Even with 70,000 tenno entering their warframes and disrupting operations daily, they are still extremely rare to encounter as a normal corpus civilian or even military member with the sheer numbers these factions have.
Yeah Credits are basically corpus factory town monopoly money I'd reckon. It's not worth anything because you (the Board etc) are the mfs printing that shit 24/7 for internal use mainly + other miscs who also use it out of convenience (Grineer presumably as commie clones don't have currency, for obvious reasons, ditto for Sentients who don't truly have materialistic needs like humanoids do)
But to give a possible answer if we pretend everything is lore accurate: Trades happen between Tenno, almost always face to face and inside Tenno facilities. All communication seems to happen on Tenno channels.
The day Joe McNotSecretlyCorpus attempts to trade, they'd get shanked and the Tenno walks off with both their prime parts and the Platinum. It simply isn't worth the risk to expect one crazy Tenno willing to honour the deal.
Oh and I guess the parts we sell and use are keyed to only work on Orokin era foundries, usually found in Tenno Orbiters.
Always imagined plat as a currency that is used by more govern places of the system. Just like in Firefly where they literally call the government made currency platinum and the currency used by the rest of the system, credits.
Or Platinum, being basically bullion, is useful for trading between different groups. If you have no use for Corpus credits, they can buy stuff from you with bullion.
Probably one of those currencies some isekai series have that are exclusively (usually) used for trades between nations, because they are worth too much so you can't actually use them for anything even in single units besides territory purchases, reparation payments, massive nation-scale military gear purchases (from a nation that specializes in X field, in this instance military-grade gear etc) etc. Basically they're used between nations where an envoy doesn't want to use a literal 20+ truck convoy filled with 100% pure gold coins in them (because of bandits etc implications mid-transit)
An important thing to remember is that most Warframes that are found are dead/dormant. This was a complete live Mag. Also, a reminder that we actually have the technology to MAKE Warframes, the Corpus doesn’t. Plus, despite the power of the Tenno, we are extraordinarily rare in comparison to the other factions. We are literally one man armies, that operate in groups of up to four. Anytime we join a fight, it’s literally enough to piss off the opposing high command. Enough for them to think they’re marking us for death.
Do you know how HARD it is for the corpus to capture a frame? Moreso make it this far? To them it's all just investment. They all probably want the same, a frame bodyguard either by torture or by taking Mag piece by piece to understand how it works to make one of their own. Because at the end of the day, they do NOT have the foundry or helminth that MAKES the frames nor they have access to the "TENNO market". The corpus would had pay the same for any frame, not just mag.
Is this the scene on Jupiter? because if it is, they are bidding for her parts after she gets sliced into pieces. I think Valkyrie is the next frame still alive awaiting to be diced which is why that fight drops Valkyrie parts.
Alad V is flexing his zanuka and even states he will take a few components from each dissection to upgrade wittle zanuka.
The Corpus have never had the capability to create their own warframes. Any Warframe they procure is either captured, or was given to them by someone who does know how to make them (like in Protea’s case).
This is kind of the equivalent of a non-nuclear power bidding on buying a nuclear warhead. They pay a preninum because they can’t produce them on their own, but they’re a really nice thing to have in the arsinal. And in this case, the nukes jump around like ninjas and do not like being captured; so they are extra hard to procure.
Although, them using platinum as a currency in the trailer is interesting. Iirc this is the only instance of platinum being used in lore for really anything.
Rich people IRL pay ridiculous amounts of money for all sorts of things. Most of it is made by rich people and sold to rich people as artwork or whatever.
Remember when people were losing their minds over Jay Z running up a $90,000 bar tab? Forgetting the fact that $90k is to Jay Z what $100 is to the average blue collar worker.
I imagine Corpus are the same. Absurd amounts of money, and flexing that by overpaying for shit is half the point.
What most people simply don't understand are the levels upon levels of deviousness layered into the game. Yes Platinum is the currency that Tenno use to get all sorts of fun stuff... But didn't you happen to notice that platinum has a distinctly Corpus appearance... Almost as if the Tenno are saying we'll use your exclusive Corpus currency used by the upper echelons that are not in debt because like you... We are free.
I mean, to us warframes are not worth much because we have the orokin tech required to create them as well as a warframe that is immune to things like the infestation which allows us to gather resources to build them easily, while the corpus is only able to salvage defeated or abandoned warframes for parts and might need specialized technology to even get them to move and a fully intact warframe would probably make that significantly easier.
During this time Warframes were thought to have the Tenno inside of them all the time.
What they were essentially buying was the Tenno themselves along with the Warframe
They are investing all that plat for a player account, it's an active mag with a Tenno in it with weapons and shit.
Its less valuable to us because we know its real value but to a bunch of nepo babies trying to dissect it and extract it's secrets for their use, it's worth waaay more.
I see it like this canonically. No matter how much they're willing to pay for Warframes NOBODY who sells them is willing to give them to the Corpus. Period. So finding someone shitty enough to sell them they're not going to pass up for any amount.
Not to mention the return on having a Warframe at your disposal.
Anything even remotely sniffing of Orokin tech gets rapidly sniffed out and either destroyed or salvaged by tenno. This is a fully functional warframe, not under Tenno control, that they can control.. Probably the only one in existence, or at least the only one they're aware of. You see the shit WE are capable of doing, single handedly murdering thousands or millions of Corpus, Grineer, infested, and whatever else the Lotus points us at.
It's beyond obvious that they'd want that kind of power themselves, and this is probably their only chance, so time to shell out the big bucks
It is a meme, but they aren't tennos. They don't have access to our special market.
They don't have the foundry or blueprints to make them. They don't know someone who knows or can make them. If they do, they do not anymore.
But the same thing goes around. Their guns must be cheap with how many they send away. It's in the dojo for us, they're not cheap and require refined materials they clearly produce and use a lot better than we do. It doesn't apply to all of them, otherwise we would have rebelled against the devs. If I had to do invasions again...
Well in this time period a single living warframe (who still has their tenno, mind you most of the warframes are dead and tennoless) is enough to give you leverage and power over your opposition. There isnt actually that many tenno roaming around anymore (its just a game mechanic or else the game would be limited to like 1000 players). So what may seem like a bad deal for us, its a good deal for the in game aristocracy.
In fairness to them they can't assemble warframes because hey can't understand them.
Its like asking the 40k Warhammer humans why they don't just build new ships. That tech is lost and while they can repair and maintain the equipment (kinda) recreating it is beyond them.
I imagine a lot of corpus and grineer would happily pay millions of plat for your entire warframe collection.
Like the reason we find BPs on bosses is because those characters either were made with those parts (see zanuka, the jackels) or were trying to understand them or use them in their armour. See Sargus Ruk for example who he used Ember bits his suit.
Ok one that's how much we buy it. Mags are basically antique vases and you're a 1000 year old Chinese peasant why the 3 dollar vase is going for millions
Two it's battle scavenge. Hardware that they don't have. Means it's expensive
In game market has 175k credits for 45 platinum. It used to be 90 plat. So 1 plat is roughly equal to 4k credits currently. During Alad V it would have been 2k credits per plat. So he essentially bid 6.2B credits. Given this information plat in universe is probably used to facilitate larger trades with less volume. Also, given how the value of plat to credits has changed it may also serve as an investment similar to gold irl.
As far as I can tell, Tenno are the only ones with the capabilities of actually creating Warframes, as we kill anyone who tries to utilize the tech for themselves- Alad V is the only one who managed to capture a Warframe alive, and can probably sell it for hundreds of millions

I got offered $4500 a few years ago. Im a master founder, dont even have the lato. This isnt a random online its someone i know and have played other games with for years. (I have zero interest in ever selling my account btw)
Crazy how much people pay for limited stuff.
1 gazillion dollars!
Believe it or not grandmaster founder accounts with endgame grind sell for over $10k lol
Ngl for 10k I'd probably start over and not be a founder
That's actually a pretty bad deal in some ways. Like if you've spent 1000 hours playing and grinding, that's $10 per hour. Someone who's been playing for 12 years could easily have between 3 and 10 times that amount of hours. Subtract any actual money you've spent and there's way easier ways to make $10k.

What a sad way to look at a leisure activity.
Go on? 👀
And not everyone is as big of a shot as Parvos Granum is, who got his own custom warframe (Protea) in exchange for w/e bro supplied Ballas with.
Specter technology iirc
Yeah I am ready to throw minimum 150$ for a Excalibur prime honestly
$150 would be no where in the stratosphere that would go for if de would let it happen
Yeah I know that's why I say minimum because I know not even my bank account will recover once the real price is out
Wait till you hear founder accounts sell for around 10k
It’s probably the Helminth
It runs deeper than that. The lotus is the mastermind behind everything going on in the origin system. We can't go outright wipe out the grineer or corpus and nor can they get hands on warframes or orokin tech easily , all because of her schemes.

Hahaha it’s like meth in New Zealand. Ya know it sells for $100/gram here. Homeless people smoke it in other countries.
They give it out for free near my high school !
Only the first time though

Thats insane you go to any corner in a small town Oklahoma or Texas and they pass that shit out like candy.
My point exactly it’s more expensive than cocaine here.
I also live in NZ and thats not really true, meth is much more widely accessible than cocaine in NZ because cocaine is largely imported by cartels or overseas which is difficult with our isolation. Meth is easy to be made shit and nasty.

From what I’ve seen personally cocaine has been more expensive, because of the lack of supply I was guessing.
Ive heard prices differ a lot by region so maybe why you’ve seen cheaper and I’ve seen pricier.
They are homeless because it is expensive lol
As someone who has known quite a few tweakers in his time; meth is CHEAP. Cocaine is wayyyy more expensive, and can’t be made in your house with supplies sourced from wal-mart
Fair, but that just means you can buy more of it and lose your house even quicker
Generally speaking, it’s not the cost of meth that leads these people to ruin their lives; it’s the way meth rewires your brain and makes you batshit insane from lack of sleep while simultaneously being more awake than you’ve ever been. Any kind of fucked up idea sounds great when you’re three days deep and running out knowing that the crash is gonna be real bad.
I grew up in a gang family and saw it a lot but it was very normalised behaviour around me.
Yeah but is it $100/gram expensive? It’s expensive to a homeless person overseas at $10 a pop for shit quality but it’s still a hit.
I know actual patched up gang members that wouldn’t be trusted with that much here (mostly cause they’d smoke it).
That’s crazy. I’ve always heard that it was cheap overseas but the reality is worse than I thought haha.
They smoke it here too wym lmao
Yeah but in other countries they don’t tend to have welfare plans that give as much to homeless people. Their homeless people are broke broke especially in America.
As a kiwi, I dont know the pricing but shit yeah Milton is essentially corposium
that turned dark real fast WTF lmao
It's pretty much mass produced in and sold out of trailer parks for the low low price of whatever a Walmart sack of copper scrap is worth. Or a catalytic converter, for bulk orders. Truckers are big buyers too, from what i understand.
well thank you for the business idea! pick it up for dirt cheep in America, and sell in New Zealand... AND as a bonus, I get frequent flyer miles! Only downside is how much my colon gets stretched with the kilo's i'd be importing! Can one even fit 40+ kilograms inside themself at a time?? HAHAHAHA

Hard to run into civilians in random hallway number 67
Yeah Credits are basically corpus factory town monopoly money I'd reckon. It's not worth anything because you (the Board etc) are the mfs printing that shit 24/7 for internal use mainly + other miscs who also use it out of convenience (Grineer presumably as commie clones don't have currency, for obvious reasons, ditto for Sentients who don't truly have materialistic needs like humanoids do)
Imagine if the operator is some weird builds cooker and you just bought an arcane persistence "health tank" mag.
the thought of them googling warframe market is killing me 😂
Why do the Grineer Queens try to steal warframes from us, when they can just buy from the Warframe Market, are they stupid? /j
grineer queens should just use trade chat
I see your /j
But to give a possible answer if we pretend everything is lore accurate: Trades happen between Tenno, almost always face to face and inside Tenno facilities. All communication seems to happen on Tenno channels.

Oh and I guess the parts we sell and use are keyed to only work on Orokin era foundries, usually found in Tenno Orbiters.
that's actually a very good explanation for it tbh, the implications of how trades work for us does point to that fact.
Would this then make Warframe Market the equivalent of a private underground communications Network for the Tennos?
Always imagined plat as a currency that is used by more govern places of the system. Just like in Firefly where they literally call the government made currency platinum and the currency used by the rest of the system, credits.

It's probably also harder for them to aquire a Mag because she requires materials both from planets they don't own, and the Void
Platnium is probbly used like how we use gold and credits as how we use cash, seems simple enough
Obviously that Mag is the first Non Fungible Tenno
I dunno, I remember she got funged pretty hard after the sale was finalized.
That's because NFTs are scams _^
I'm sure Nokko would beg to differ.
Supremely fungible.
All it takes is one whale.
So Mag seeking for tons of plat makes sense.
Alad, the OG tradechat scammer
Wondering which of the corpus bigwigs would fall for classic wildy luring
Holy flashbacks Batman
Do you know how HARD it is for the corpus to capture a frame? Moreso make it this far? To them it's all just investment. Alad V is flexing his zanuka and even states he will take a few components from each dissection to upgrade wittle zanuka.
Valkyr's already been sent through the wringer, that's why she looks like she does.
Quite Shallow face reveal?
Tenno to Tenno market is a closed and highly controlled system, this I suppose is what it's like when one 'breaks out'
Just wait a second fellow Tenno, let me go and sell them freshly farmed Ammo Drum Mods for 250 plat a piece.
Even Frost Prime didn't cost that much.
Really chilled the prices
The Corpus have never had the capability to create their own warframes. Any Warframe they procure is either captured, or was given to them by someone who does know how to make them (like in Protea’s case).

Blank Canvas.
Sold by a poor person? $10.
Sold by a rich person? $25,000,000.
Or are the tenno stupid for not raiding their plat supply? 🤨
Or building a spare Mag to sell off for a million plat :p
Sure, they'll get the tech (Which most already have anyways), but you'll get a lifetime supply of plat :p
Warframe isn't free to play for Corpus
the corpus do not have access to the tenno market or trade thus have to get warframe the hard way
What most people simply don't understand are the levels upon levels of deviousness layered into the game. Yes Platinum is the currency that Tenno use to get all sorts of fun stuff... For any other faction, they sacrifce thousands to just get one Warframe mildly intact.
For us we go into a survival mission, pass out and wake up a hour later to enough resources to build a entire second Orbiter.
Hell its even easier for us when we can just skip getting the blueprints the normal way and just mess round in the Undercroft for a few hours.
They don't actually specify plat. Could just be credits.
Edits: Whoops, just saw the plat symbol in the picture. nerrmind
My cutscene showed valkyr
The first frame they slice up I'm pretty sure is mag. Valkyr is next up but never gets dissected.
Oh Valkyr got dissected alright, just not dismembered.
I saw Excalibur first in mine
During this time Warframes were thought to have the Tenno inside of them all the time. What they were essentially buying was the Tenno themselves along with the Warframe
Which instantly gets dispelled the second it gets segmented in the video :p
They are investing all that plat for a player account, it's an active mag with a Tenno in it with weapons and shit.

Now if I could just get into providing Warframes to that auction I’d be set. Everyone in the system would have a one of my spares.
This isn't even the full frame. Alad is using the Core components for Zanuka. These guys are paying for his scraps.
It is a meme, but they aren't tennos. They don't have access to our special market.

Try buy the latest iPhone whilst living in a third-world country.
When you see that it costs $5,000, you'll understand why they had to pay that much.
It’s because this came out before Warframe Market
I mean, these guys aren't spending their plat on fashion accessories, which all Tenno knows is endgame.
I mean I got a maxed out primed continuity for 20p once
Holy shit. Ima cook up some fodder frames and sell em to corpos. Imagine what A prime would go for!!
best I can do it harrow chest
Well in this time period a single living warframe (who still has their tenno, mind you most of the warframes are dead and tennoless) is enough to give you leverage and power over your opposition. There isnt actually that many tenno roaming around anymore (its just a game mechanic or else the game would be limited to like 1000 players). So what may seem like a bad deal for us, its a good deal for the in game aristocracy.
Why did they not use an exponentially large amount of credits for this? 😭 isn’t that what they bet in the index?
i think it was supposed to represent the players.. seeing we do the exact same thing in trade channel
“does that mag hold the secret recipe for coca-cola?”
this old war era mag serves coca-cola the old fashioned way
Perfect example of tradechat in a nutshell. Except switch mag with rivens.
Buying a Riven? 5,000 plat - At this price I'm practically giving it away!
Selling that identical Riven? 20 plat is the best I can do.
They were the first Aoi Gooners.
The Gooner Ancestors
Darvo wins again #1 scammer of all time
Now I want to know how to contact these board directors
I mean, Mag is lowkey the strongest of the starters imo, pretty powerful. No mouth tho gg
Ever seen Chobits?
Galastra could have made an insane fortune selling off her commandeered prime frames rather than sending them to get destroyed on the battlefield.
No.
That Mag had the Orokin Krabby Patty secret formula.
Oh yeah I forgot about this clip, remember that the corpus only have access to warframe parts by cutting up the very few ones they've killed
Corpus tryna Tap
That's a simple answer to the question it's cocaine lmao that's the ingredient you were looking for
Simply put, rich people tend to be stupider than they think they are.
I thought they were bidding regular credits
You can see the plat symbol next to the bar
Oh I couldn't see that very well but now that I look closely at it I see it
Mag Prime should unironically be posted on Market only for millions of plat, as a memorandum of this trailer
Do they have any positions open? I need that level of Plat in my life lol
Or maybe, as high-ranking corpus, they just know something we dont.
I think because mag out pizza the hut
It's a prime
Obviously Mag is an AI-generated, golden RAM encrusted, NFT.
