Hello, I am traveling to Brazil in February for Carnival. I have a few questions:
1) Will it be safe for me to take a moto taxi to the Dois Irmaos hike? I know that we have to go up a favela. I plan to go around 9am-5pm.
2) What are good areas to go for Carnival Bloco in Rio to be surrounded by more locals and not as many tourists?
3) What are any safe favelas you recommend for clubbing at night for some funk music? Or maybe not a favela but some popular clubs that play funk (or genres that are brazilian hip hop/brazilian rap/brazilian reggeaton?)

There are no safe favelas to attend funk parties in Rio de Janeiro. Criminals often use these parties to increase drug sales. You'll see men with heavy weapons, often firing shots into the air. Please consider going to other areas of Brazil; you'll see many cultural differences.

There are a few hotels in Copacabana (near the Copacabana Palace) that have lots of people who offer guided tours around the city. They are reliable. Go to Rua Rodolfo Dantas and ask around.

Eu já foi pra Rio e a uma favela no 2013. E consegui aprender Portuguese. Já esqueci algumas palavras. Mas eu Foi com um grupo grande. A gente era estudantes do intercâmbio y todo ficou bem. Mas eu tinha 19 anos e achava que era mais immortal do cual realmente sono. Agora eu tenho 32 anos y tenho mais medo das coisas. Queria saber se a favelas ainda são perigosas o se a situação mudo. Agora eu séi que as favelas ainda são perigosas e não vale pena ir a um funk club na favela.
