Hi All - I recently went in to renew my driving license in Richmond, and was told by the DMV that they have to verify my legal presence.

Shortly after the appointment, I received this email:

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is unable to immediately verify your immigration/citizenship document(s). Your information has been electronically and securely transmitted to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for further review. It may take up to 35 business days for USCIS to provide a response to DMV.

DMV will email you once your information has been successfully verified or if you are required to submit additional documentation. Once your information is successfully verified, we will provide you with an approval number to return to any DMV customer service center (CSC) within 60 days for processing.

If you do not receive an email or phone call fromDMV within 35 business days, visit dmvNOW.com/contact to request the status of your application.

Previously it has been a breeze, but this time was different. Any ideas how long after this email can we get license? My license expires in a month.

Thank you in advance!
