• The most left leaning province suffers consequences of left wing policy

You get what you vote for.

Too many brainless liberals here, it’s also how we’ve had and continue to have the worst homelessness and drug problem in Canada (maybe North America too?).

  • Not with Eby around

  • Not really. The BC provincial bureaucracy would rather everyone go homeless and dying out on the tent cities in the open -- that way, no burden on the system and they can keep doing nothing and leeching off their government salaries.

  • Am I right to assume bare land strata is safe? This may be a blessing for those that purchased homes in one.

Strata is just means for owners to co-manage shared property and obligations amongst themselves.

Strata is not a shield against aboriginal title claims.

In fact in Richmond, there are strata properties that are in the broader claim area.

  • There are no private property rights in Canada. This statement does not apply to land exclusively, so the issue is actually worse than everyone thinks.

  • No rights on stolen land.

    And in stolen airspace.

Which was probably stolen before anyone else got here. All land is "stolen". How far back do we go? 10000 years 20000 years? I mean what's the limit? There are people with Neanderthal DNA, do they have a right to "stolen land" too? Or whatever fits your narrative works best?

Ownership is more than just presence in an area.

Nations are more than just a label.

The Clovis people from 13,000 years ago were once considered the First Americans. Archeology has found strong evidence for pre-clovis people in North & South America.

With the amount of money the first nation’s have accepted by the government… it’s bought land by now

Maybe we can agree that occupation doesn't equal to ownership.

In today’s news, r/Gorrozolla thinks that Canadian contract law doesn’t exist 😂. There are absolutely rights on stolen land. FN are free to sue the government that entered into legally binding contracts with the law abiding public. If it is found that FN are entitled to privately owned land, the Government is required to pay the value of the land to the current legal owner(s). That value cannot be set at a diminished price resulting from the sudden change in land status either and would have to be paid out before the impact of material damages took effect. Those my friend, are the legal rights of land owners and I think you’ll find that this cost would bankrupt the province and also wipe out access to any services you enjoy today (transit, healthcare, policing, public amenities, etc). But keep on poking the bear if it puts a smile on your face 🙂

They did, they won. Everything happening now is a consequence of a scoc decision that Horgan and eby fought. Keep making up reasons

In 2019 the BC government changed the law which resulted in this ruling.

Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) — BC’s central UNDRIP-aligned law.

They have legal standing before dripa, even removing dripa, the Supreme Court set a precedent

    And we'll steel it again
