It's a fairly common tape. Maybe not Titanic common but not rare or anything, and it's the best Python movie imo. If i didn't have it on any other format i'd open it.
And you're not ruining it, you're releasing it and fulfilling its sole purpose for existing. It's got one job...
Yeah... I just open stuff. Lol. Sealed VHS are meant to be played. Same with videogames. Take it from someone who opened a sealed Zelda Twilight Princess. DO IT!

It's meant to be played, open it
Open it! Make sure to sniff the inside of the box once you take it out too. Nothin better than the smell of a freshly brand new box.
Just do it. Its meant to be watched anyways, it might be a little painful but youll be grateful you did it
What's that in the background?Pile, exactly ,pile of VHS tapes!?🙂Cool 😎
Bet there all still in the shrink-wrap too 🤣

I enjoyed it when it first came out, but this movie doesn't age well IMO
Do it. Give it its first watch.
What would be ruined? Their only purpose is to be viewed, I think you are over thinking things.
We need to pin a post or something that says something along the lines of “your VHS tapes will never be worth serious money”
A world without currency would be heaven.
You could always scout the internet for another copy and keep this one sealed.
What are you waiting for? I wouldn’t expect it to be especially valuable.
Naa just the feeling of finding something old but new
