It was fully sealed but had a breach and some sort of dirt on the cardboard outer case. So discarded the outer plastic to clean it and am opening the tapes to watch over the coming weeks
Got mine a few years ago. I first found a sealed copy of TVH in a bargain bin about 15 years ago for 99c. Then a friend picked up all of them except for Final Frontier, which I later got online.
I recently got this set too, the outer box was not sealed and kinda beat up but every tape is still factory sealed. I wonder why they unwrapped the outer box in the first place.
Good open them, like I opened mine lol
I always open sealed tapes, but try to leave the plastic on, just cutting around the opening

Well done. People are too precious with sealed VHS anyway. As if there aren't a ton of copies out there already. Enjoy them.
This is an awesome set. I have it too but have no memory of actually buying it, lol.

Those stock/catalog/product numbers seem to indicate that Star Trek II might've been a fairly early release from Paramount Home Video.
I have this set as well! Loved it while growing up.
Funny enough I just found the 25th anniversary box set yesterday at a used book store.

I always felt they should have put a shuttlecraft on the VI box. Was just too empty.
