Hi, I’m a new Jazz fan looking to get into the NBA because my city doesn’t have a team. I just picked the team bc I like their name, what do I need to know about team history and rivals etc. Thanks yall and go Jazz
We were dominant in the 90s, making it to the finals 2x against Jordan, but tragically fell short (and had some sketchy reffing)
There was a dominant era in 2000s with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer that made it to the WCF, but lost to the championship Spurs
A very mid slump through the 2010s before becoming really good in the end of the decade with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, even getting the best record, but had multiple playoff blunders.
We have since traded them for lits of young talent and picks and are in a bit of a rebuild era.
We have always had a sort of rivalry with the Rockets, theres the lingering feelings of the Bulls from Jordan, and we had a bit of a rivalry with the Denver Nuggets because of both being mountain city teams that had dominant big man and shooting guard combos (Gobert and Mitchell vs Jokic and Murray). Watch the 2020 playoff series between the two teams to get a feeling of that one.
I will let others rattle off more players and history for ya. Best of luck in your journey, and go Jazz!
We were great but not good enough in the 90s. Both our all stars from that time are all time greats at their position. One is kinda shitty and one is REALLY shitty. Other than those two we got lots of other legends. Mark Eaton, Deron Williams, Mhemet Okur, Andrei Kirilenko, Carlos Boozer, Pete Maravich, Adrian Dantley, Jeff Hornacek (kinda not really), and more recently Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Jordan Clarkson, Mike Conley, Joe Ingles, and Ricky Rubio. We hate the Rockets and the Lakers. Generally young talent doesn't want to stay in SLC. Jerry Sloan is the greatest coach in franchise history and one of the greatest coaches in NBA history. Our fans have been problematic in a Bostan-esque way before. The pink grandmas are GOATed.
We were this 🤌🏼 to winning a championship twice😭
John Stockton was the best point guard in NBA history, Stockton holds the record for most assists and most steals in history &
Karl Malone the Mailman was one of the best power forwards. The Jazz went to the finals two straight seasons. But Michael Jordan is the 🐐 MJ and the Bulls whooped our butts back to back
Stop being a Jazz fan first and foremost. Choose another team.
Unless you like losing, heartache, heartbreak, and your super stars running off to bigger cities the first chance they get. The Jazz have broken our hearts for nearly 50 years
Founded in 1947 by Joseph “Jazz Hands” Smith, the Utah Jazz won their ever NBA championship in 1963 led by their perennial All Star small forward Kolby Bryan.
Our biggest rival is the Montreal Gravediggers with whom we’ve battled for supremacy in the Great White North division since its inception in 2014.
It’s hell, why would any one in there right mound not from Utah choose to root for the Yazzers? More power to you but I would say we’re in the 24th percentile of big 4 sports teams when it comes to our chances to ever win anything because NBA players hate Utah. So like welcome, but brother, pick a different team, you’re never gonna win a title here
Many people think Utah is some crazy cult state and nobody wants to play in Utah. For that reason, don't expect Utah to be able to sign a star free agent. It's difficult to retain worthy players. Utah will probably never win a championship.
Jazz ALWAYS find a way to lose. They suck and the owner doesn’t care. If they had a dominant player and a decent coach. They would go far. It will never happen. Instead of saying go jazz. As a fan you start to say fuckin jazz
Being a fan of this team is this meme.

Jordan pushed off.
I'm shocked no one has said one of the most important things, Jordan pushed off

How is John Stockton shitty?
He got really into anti-vax and conspiracy shit during Covid. Not nearly as bad as Malone but still shitty.
So did Rodgers and a bunch of other professional athletes. Calling him shitty is an overreaction IMO
Rogers is like the shittiest athlete that hasn't done anything, illegal, dude is such a tool. That's before Covid, then he became even shittier.
Lauri and Keyonte. That’s all you need to know
Get used to losing, but you’ll love Coach Will Hardy. Lauri Markkanen, Keyonte George, and Walker Kessler are special.

Fuck Derek Fisher.
Fuck Derek Fisher
Derek Fisher lied three times to get out of his contract.
Honestly unless you’re a local , pick a different team. The most famous Jazz player is a pedo and they actually gave him a statue lol
we will never win a championship
Should never have traded Donny considering his rise. Trading Gobert was the right move.
This is what you need to know (my opinion only):
Bavetta cost us a chip
Why, your Jets hat get lost? Rethink this, friend.

Rule 1: bow down to the Bosnian Beast.
That you will be disappointed a lot.
Get use to it.

Google is free OP.

How does our owner suck? Have you not heard of Vivek Ranadive?
You need to know that the internet exists and all current and past Jazz information is on it
I would pick a different team to start your fandom if you don’t have a hometown loyalty.
