I got into urbexing recently and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I don’t have any friends who are willing to go explore with me. What is a way to find people who are willing to explore with me?
Make an instagram account and post some photos, it's your "business card".
Find and follow urbexers from your city (this works great in bigger cities), try talking with them.
Just make sure it's not something like "I have 0 experience and you post nice location, go with me there. I want untouched locations" for obvious reasons
Instagram is definitely the move, also check if there's a local urbex Facebook group or Discord server for your area. Found my crew through a random meetup post and we've been hitting spots together for like 2 years now
It’s got to be a very particular type of person. A lot of folks don’t want to take physical or legal risks like what we do. I’ve had friends go on a few explorations, and suddenly they quit because they got a good job, got into school, started a family, etc, and the reward doesn’t outweigh the risks anymore.
It’s an ever-revolving door of opportunity. 🙂
