giveaways* god i type too fast
i've been eyeing this huge mall that's an hour drive away from me, but I can't tell from anything online whether it's accessible. it was abandoned two years ago and bought by a company in the summer, but they haven't even touched the place due to an ongoing lawsuit.
i was surprised to see absolutely no urban exploration media already on it, so i'm not sure whether it's just totally guarded off or what.
Sometimes you just have to stake out. If it's a mall, you might be able to park your car in the parking lot nearby, put the hood up. Have a jug of water next to it and just waiting for any security. Scope it out to see if you can see any patrols, but also if I need to show up too. Question why you're there. If they do show up you just tell him your car was overheating and you had to stop for a bit, but conveniently it's probably good now so you'll be on your way and you can leave.
Another option which I use for houses and smaller buildings. I'm not sure how it would work for a mall to be honest, but we always check them power meters. If there's any power draw that can mean security alarms or cameras.
Good luck and if you decide to do it, I hope to see pictures.
OP YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED BY THE LAWS OF THE INTERNET TO POST AN UPDATE ON THIS
One method Iv used is satellite imagery. We get alot of snow during winters where I'm at, so if there's a security car there you'll see the tracks in the snow of its patrols. Beyond that you just have to scout out the site. I'll often use a cheap drone to check around the property
