  • Post link and/or its submission text is suspected of being written by artificial intelligence.

  • The wife's name was Elaine, not Tammie.

The baby was born after Elaine's beating/death.

Russell was found in a nearby field, not inside the home.

Thank you. So much wrong or left out of this write up.

    ChatGPT strikes out again.

Elaine delivered a baby girl too, not a baby boy.

  • The wifes name was Elaine. And the details are so much worse regarding the baby. The attack was so vicious, she went into labor and delivered the baby, a girl, right therel. And then the poor baby was beaten to death too. Honestly one of the most shockingly vile crimes ive ever read about.

  • Was this written by AI? Half the details are incorrect. Deeply important details. And why is there an open ended quiz at the end? What’s happening here.

Yes, that account seems to feed Wikipedia to AI and then post whatever garbage results.

  • This case always seemed so personal to me. I feel like the killer had to have known them for it to be that brutal.

  • That’s a sick, vicious and personal attack on that family, there was some deep hatred in the method of the murders. If it was random then there was some Jack the Ripper style nut job on the loose. I’m more inclinded to believe it wasn’t random and the perpetrator was know to one or other of the parents, probably the father since he got the “extra attention”

  • I wonder if it was a case of mistaken identity? Family friends of ours had a home invasion back in '21. The parents were taken to the garage, duct taped and tased numerous times. Their kids were locked in a room inside the house and one of the criminals was threatening to go get one of the kids and start harming them, because they thought the husband had drug ties. But it was the wrong guy.

  • Holy 💩- this might be the worst write up. Can’t even get Elaine’s name right…. Or the baby’s horrific death. Go away with AI slop.

  • It’s shocking to me that no one has come forward with information. Seems that whoever did it might have revealed it to someone…bragging or guilty conscience.

  • I think about this one a lot. They looked so happy in their pictures.

IIRC the brutality in this case made it so that it was often excluded from programs like Unsolved Mysteries. Which is a shame because so many cases benefited from the mass exposure those programs provided.

I believe you are correct, hence the lack of a name to give. I also think the wife's name was Elaine, not Tammie.

This is the crazy case where someone beat her so bad that it caused her to go into labor and the killer beat the baby to death afterward. It definitely seems personal?

  • Wow. Sad. We basically know nothing.

  • I've never heard of this case. How awful & terrifying.

Reminds me of the Short Family murders, 2002.

    Done! Sorry, been traveling.

  • Was Russell Dardeen mutilated before he was killed ? Also, was the family looking to leave that area, because Russell was concerned about the rise in crime there ? Was the drug trade doing a lot of business there ?

  • I thought Tommy Lynn Sells was the killer but not charged as it didn’t make a difference at the point he confessed.

No one thinks Sells actually did it, including law enforcement. The dude would confess to literally anything.

Exactly. He was another Henry Lee Lucas. Plus they have very good information that he was nowhere near there at the time of the crime.
