Title; both subs have been taken over.
Open floor: what shall the United Colours do?
EDIT: I've just posted with a possible answer as to the nature of the takeover.
EDIT 2: Both subs have now been liberated. The crisis is over.

These are obviously demons. Seriously! Pinks? Obviously the work of the Great Doom.
I might just declare a 3rd Crusade solely against these Pinks as they are most unnatural. I think everyone can agree with me that these "Pinks" are a blight on the Buttonverse.
EDIT:
The College of Cardinals is now considering a 3rd Crusade. This will only be against the Pinks as they are not of this plane of the Buttonverse and threaten us all. Presser and Non. Pro or Anti-Button. They have the potential to destroy us all.
Ooooh, a pink crusade? How does one join?
I've taken the liberty and assigned you a Pink Legion flair, demon.
I support this crusade only if it amounts to more than talk. The occupied subreddits must be retaken by any means necessary, and their occupiers banished back to the fairy realm before they hide everyone's car keys.
Also, on a serious note, what is reddit policy regarding subreddit seizures?
I, /u/PargonIntensifies, hereby motion that the ringleaders be tried in absentia on the following charges:
Crimes against humanity
Stealing human children and replacing them with fairy children
General havoc and tomfoolery
I agree that this crime is most heinous. However, the aggressors do not appear to be members of this most high Council; previous punishments have been revocation of voting rights. What sanction is proposed?
We could trap them in a circle of salt and iron filings, which I believe creates a barrier impassible by the fair folk.
Also report them to reddit admin, not that they'll do anything.
An appeal to the powers on high cannot harm the effort, though as you say it is unlikely to result in action. This Council will likely need to rely on its own power.
This seems a fitting punishment! Now to wait on the Council's decision... begins gathering iron shavings
There really should be a charge of tomfoolery in there as well.
Fixed.

Historically, the fair folk have always been dangerous, though.
Have we established if these are Seelie or Unseelie Fae? I think in either case we just need some cold wrought iron.
Seelie. Definitely Seelie. They're too pretty to be Unseelie

I dunno; it seems like it can be really hard to retake a subreddit that's been taken over, Reddit policy being what it is.

I get the impression that the admins have always been slow at dealing with this sort of thing, where they deal with it at all.
Agreed, we never saw /r/59s returned.
I call for war, all out War!!
The UC has to take a stance against such radicals, and it has to be War!
I think it is far past time to take a stronger stance and move into action against all of these aggressors and not just stand here twiddling our thumbs
SPOILER ALERT: This ruins the fun.
When I opened the Emerald Council page with subreddit themes disabled, I realized that all three of the original mods were still in place (a fact that's invisible if the themes are enabled). I assume this is the case for the Sunguardians, but I'm less familiar with their structure.
WHAT THIS MEANS: The fairies (i.e. /u/MeadowPepperglitter) who appear to have taken over aren't actually in charge. The original mods still have full command of their subreddits.
WHICH MEANS: The takeovers of the subreddits (or, more accurately, the redesigns) were done by the mods themselves, or at a bare minimum with the approval of the top-level moderators.
WHICH MEANS: The "Pink Council" does not exist, or at least operates as a front organization.
WHICH MEANS: We've been had. This is an elaborate hoax.
You can see for yourself by opening the pages with custom CSS turned off and looking at the list of moderators.
So, crisis averted, it seems. Well done to the mods for pulling a fast one that was this funny.
tl;dr - the takeover appears to be a hoax
Heh.
Nice catch! I knew there was some tomfoolery involved!
I knew something was up when the "leaders" of the takeovers had 3 day old Reddit accounts.
Seriously? I go to have a nice family dinner and come back to two more subs being over taken?
This plague of aggression is unchecked, and I think we need to take a stronger stand against it.
What is UPTO doing in response to it?
The current subs that have been taken never join /r/UPTO so it is not obligated to help them.
The Church however is considering a 3rd Crusade.
Another crusade might not be a bad idea, but wasn't part of UPTO suppose to be to involve itself in such situations?
It is a mutual defence treaty so only members are obliged to help members. This doesn't stop subreddits who are members from helping, just on their own will.
Have you heard of the childrens crusade? There is a thought for you.
Does this new group have any known ties to any existing button subs? Though this could be the work of just a couple of people.
Not that anyone's aware. Awaiting official comments from the Assassins and NC.
Doesn't seem like NC's style. They are all too proud to make awful death camp references.
That's a fact!
It's also WAY to colorful for them.

what is happening tho
This appears to be an attack by a non-button related faction.
I'm a little jealous but only a bit.
