TV WORLD! From the atmosphere, to the groovy ass music, to the fast sneaking, and to all the neat little secrets and quizzes, it’s just a fun time, man. I love TV!
Exploration/layout/actual gameplay of exploring the dark world 2 > 4 > 1 > 3
Chapter 4 is beautiful all around and very solid gameplay wise. A little straight forward with some bonuses off the beaten path and satisfying to go through. The secrets to unlock the Gerson fight are not too bad. 2 of them are straightforward and the one behind the waterfall donation is a little cryptic if you don’t donate enough. The second and third sanctuaries, while solid, are a lot more straightforward and “just go from a to b” than the first and chapter 2 and 1. Music is the best in the game thus far for all 3 sanctuaries. Visuals are the best Undertale or Deltarune have ever looked.
Chapter 2 is the chapter most focused on the area/field itself it feels like. You’re constantly moving through the area towards the goal and has 3 major zones (cyber world, cyber city and Queen’s castle) all of which have a lot going on, things to backtrack for and things off the beaten path that are rewarding to find. Exploring feels the best here as there are many secrets and finding them is interesting. Obviously the weird route also exists in here too adding intrigue to the world. Visuals are solid, but don’t stand out more than anything else in the game. Music for the 3 zones themselves are hit or miss. Cyber’s world and cyber city are fine, but nothing to write home about to me. Queens Castle is an all timer bop however.
Chapter 3 is nearly on par with chapter 4 in terms of aesthetics, but I prefer the more solemn atmosphere of chapter 4s areas. TV World is a fantastic song and carries the soundtrack of the chapter imo (along with Tenna’s boss fight). But exploring and the actual area itself is pretty lame. It’s essentially a straight line with one off rooms for some small bonuses. The pipis room and egg room are different but they’re so obtuse to find I don’t find them to be genuine integrated mysteries and more like things you find online for the most part after playing the chapter. And they don’t add that much fun on replay. But in essence, there is no proper area until the TV World section but then it’s just fallow the path and watch Tenna crash out until you get back to the green room. A lot of the chapter is the boards which are fun, but I think the actual field section suffers because of them plus the s rank room taking a lot of time.
Chapter 1 is the most basic but has all the strong bones the rest of the chapters share. It’s pretty much chapter 2 lite in my opinion. It similarly has 3 zones with distinct aesthetics ( the field of hopes and dreams, scarlet forest, and king’s castle) but none of them are as developed or deep as their chapter 2 equivalents.
I know people are gonna disagree with me but probably chapter 1. The idea of a scarlet red forest under a dark sky is just so cool man. Admittedly though it’s not as visually interesting with its backgrounds and sprite work as future chapters. 4 is up there with it
the intro into cyber world is one of my favorite eve gaming moments, after years of anticipation i immediately knew the chapter was gonna be incredible
Musicwise, Cyber World (Field of Hopes and Dreams is a VERY close second). Visually, TV Pathways. Emotionally, The Corridors. And Nostalgically, The field of hopes and dreams.
In terms of both aesthetic and music, I have to give it to Cyber World, with Field of Hopes and Dreams as an honorable mention. Nothing wrong with the other two; I love them. But if I were to physically be there and walk around, Cyber World would be the coolest to me.
colors: Field of Hopeless and Nightmarish
mechanics: STEAMPUNK WORLD
music: Light Sanctuaries
sprites: BOOK WORLD
Honorable Mentions: Fortress Town and Neighbortown
The Dark Sanctuaries are probably going to remain my favorite area even after the full game comes out.
As cool and interesting as it is to see Toby subvert typical RPG tropes, it was cool to see him lean into them more whilst still maintaining his own personal style.
Because despite all of the fun and silly adventures, there is still a Prophecy. The end of the world is still coming. And the atmosphere created by the artwork and music really helps to convey the grandeur of such a realization.
The Field of Hopes and Dreams could have been so much more but being in the first chapter hinders it's placement on my list. The Dark Sanctuary is my pick. Just a generally calming and chill place.
I think Dark Sanctuary clears, but that's because Dark Sanctuary is kinda pulling the work of multiple areas, its more so comparable to cyber world intro area + city area
Art for the TV world is really well thought out. Compared to other areas, it's much more diverse in setting, color pallete, and it conveys what it's supposed to be very well O:
All of them, there isn't a single one that has everything, they, as a whole make themselves, deltarune, complete
I enjoyed the bit where it snew
Now you're kidding with me, no way that was supposed to be dess
* what
what ❤️ what
Color pallet wise: Cyber world
Music wise: TV WORLD
Sprite work wise: Sanctuary
This for me
The field of hopes and dreams: Lancer
Collor pallet wise: TV WORLD
Music wise: Cyber World
Sprite work wise: Dark Sanctuary
Cyber World/City are my favorite, but the Sanctuaries are the highest quality
The only one with the music name showing up of course
That was a total vibe on the first playthrough
Chapter 1 was the peak of 2018, I still kind of feel nostalgic about it
chapter one had some neato mechanics that im sad didnt stick around, like the soundtrack list and the enemy targets during battle.
TV WORLD! From the atmosphere, to the groovy ass music, to the fast sneaking, and to all the neat little secrets and quizzes, it’s just a fun time, man. I love TV!
In order though, it would be:
TV World
The Sanctuaries (Third, First, Second)
Cyber Field
Field of Hopes and Dreams
Aesthetically chapter 4 > 3 > 2 > 1
Exploration/layout/actual gameplay of exploring the dark world 2 > 4 > 1 > 3

Cyber world will forever be my favorite dark world
Chapter 4 is absolutely incredible
YES
I know people are gonna disagree with me but probably chapter 1. The idea of a scarlet red forest under a dark sky is just so cool man. Admittedly though it’s not as visually interesting with its backgrounds and sprite work as future chapters. 4 is up there with it
the intro into cyber world is one of my favorite eve gaming moments, after years of anticipation i immediately knew the chapter was gonna be incredible

Funny tv world
CyberWorld, but i'm biased, I've always loved cyber areas in TV shows and games
Music: Third Sanc.
Gameplay: Cyber world.
Visuals, TV World
Tv world because I'm biased for the Tumblr tv head
Musicwise, Cyber World (Field of Hopes and Dreams is a VERY close second). Visually, TV Pathways. Emotionally, The Corridors. And Nostalgically, The field of hopes and dreams.
All down on tv world
Probably dark sanctuary
Field of hopes and dreams is my second one music-wise, it'll always be classic for me

TV World or Sanctuary
colors: Field of Hopeless and Nightmarish
mechanics: STEAMPUNK WORLD
music: Light Sanctuaries
sprites: BOOK WORLD
Honorable Mentions: Fortress Town and Neighbortown
I think TV World has been my favorite Dark World so far. With the Sanctuary being my second.
Castle town, tv time studio, and cyber city.
The music and visuals of the sanctuaries are absolutely divine. I don’t think it’s particularly close.
The fact I don't know which one to choose 🥀
The Dark Sanctuaries are probably going to remain my favorite area even after the full game comes out.

Easily the dark sanctuaries, felt like I was meeting god the whole time
ah yes, Fields of Hope and Dreams, i played Terraria mods and one of them add this song to the game and let me tell you..
defeating a boss that can one shot you if you have skill issue dodging it, accompanied by this song is something else
Sanctuary for me. I just loved the atmosphere.
Sanctuary, as a location, was probably the best looking and sounding.
The church vibe was top tier
Color? Cyber World
Aesthetic and other stuff? TV World
Though Cyber World's music is a vibe
Oh, the sanctuaries, easy. Best music, best design, peak bosses, peak character development, it’s just peak.
My favorite are the sanctuaries (especially the second) but TV World is really close behind
The Field of Hopes and Dreams could have been so much more but being in the first chapter hinders it's placement on my list. The Dark Sanctuary is my pick. Just a generally calming and chill place.
In muy opinion Sanctuary Field of hopes and dreams Cybers World TV World
Where is loss
Sanctuary all the way baby!
I think Dark Sanctuary clears, but that's because Dark Sanctuary is kinda pulling the work of multiple areas, its more so comparable to cyber world intro area + city area
DARK SANCTUARY MY BELOVED
Art for the TV world is really well thought out. Compared to other areas, it's much more diverse in setting, color pallete, and it conveys what it's supposed to be very well O:
I can't choose, they all have bangin' BGM
2nd Sanctuary type dark worlds are gonna make a comeback, trust.
The fields of hopes and dreams
The sanctuaries are genuinely my favorite parts of this game. The music, the story, the vibes, the visuals, everything about it is amazing
Don't make me choose
In the morning Field Until lunch: back stage Afternoon: cyber world Until night: sanctuary
Cyber World
God, sanctuary is so beautiful
Cyber world for the music and vibe, and TV world only second because I like the music in Cyber world better.
Sheer vibes: Cyber world feels like the most whimsy, nostalgic adventure
Story: Sanctuary is cinema
Gaster jumpscare/lore: Field of hopes and dreams
Music: It's always T.V. time
The church. Entering that area the first time was magical.
Do the sword route minigames count
If not idk what my favorite is
Cyber world has nostalgia
Chapter 4 was weak gameplay wise, Im only saying this because I'm curious what others think.. chapter 1 and 2 just felt more fun.. is this just me?
