I think the thing Gaster fell into was the prophecy. The Old Man says something about the creator of the prophecy "falling into it." (forgot exactly what he said)
He says the author of the lord of the hammer never finished the story; that it became "so grand, so overwhelming. Some say it swallowed up the author himself."
Which could certainly be a parallel of some kind, but the prophecy existed before Lord of the Hammer
And it's also a hint at the roaring, when the fountains (which are created by light world and kinda correspond to creating fiction) swallow up the light world
Everyone always says that Delta Gerson is sort of meant to be a Tolkien figure, and I agree that's probably most of what he's based on.
But.
A long series of Books that become so grand in scale the author wasn't able to finish them because of how much effort it would take is suuuuuper A Song of Ice and Fire (The original book series Game of Thrones adapted) coded.
Still definitely more of a LotR reference (Literally, "Lord of the Hammer", how much more on the nose can you get?), I'm just saying.
During his boss fight, Gerson talks about chapter 7 of Lord of The Hammer never being made, and then about the author being "swallowed up" by the story as it became too grand and overwhelming.
What if this is a direct parallel to Gaster and Deltarune, meaning that Gaster wont "fall into his creation" until later on in the story, and he's actually still alive in the underground while talking to us?
Gasters name still restarts Deltarune just like in Undertale, which may be evidence that his identity is already erased/shattered in Deltarune's world.
But remember that he supposedly got shattered across TIME and space, so maybe the effects of that are present even before the incident occurs. This would mean that Gaster's incident is a predestined event since its effects throughout the timeline are already visible.
(This is kinda like how Homestuck time travel works with the "He is already here" bit about Lord English. And also, if the Greenster and 666 Vs 667 theories are true, then Gaster would share quite a few qualities and themes with Lord English too.)
I think another piece of evidence for this is that Toby set up the Survey Program file on PC to look like it was created by the fictional "Royal Sciences LLC", in reference to Gaster. But why would Gaster bother to attach his project to his Royal Scientist job, unless it was actually a part of that job? This surely implies that Gaster created Survey Program when he was still the Royal Scientist in the underground. Or maybe he felt nostalgic for his old title while coding Deltarune in the depths or something idk.
Ooh! Ooh! We’re in a fight with gaster and Susie (while the other two are unable to fight) slowly approaches him. Gaster backs up more and more and then he falls off a cliff into his creation, thus stopping the fight!
I am certain that the random burning room in the CORE is where Gaster fell. It could’ve been an explosive event for all we know, and I like the idea he unintentionally made an eternal hell pit like the one in Siberia
Another idea that I don’t really believe in anymore, but I like to imagine that what Gaster specifically fell into was an inverse dark fountain powered via the CORE, allowing him to exit the game and “shatter across time and space.”
This "creation" is mentioned right after they talk abt gaster creating the CORE, thereby, common sense and basic reading comprehension implies it was the core.
That's not really true when dealing with intentionally vague dialogue like this. It's supposed to make you think one thing but leave possibilities open. Toby Fox loves doing this shit (Chapter 1 dialogue involving the Knight. Chapter 3 dialogue involving Tenna's deal(s) with Kris/The Knight).
One day, his experiments
went wrong, and...
THIS NEXT EXPERIMENT SEEMS VERY VERY INTERESTING
Something the Gaster followers do mention is that he fell into his own creation during an experiment gone wrong. The only time experiments are mentioned in relation to Gaster is Entry 17, which is very clearly the one where he messes around with Darkness.
The CORE also has no relation to Deltarune so far, and it would be very difficult to imagine a situation in which it would become important. Dark Worlds are a core part of Deltarune's story. Gaster existed in Undertale to foreshadow and tease Deltarune.
With the current info we have access to, there's not really any reason to believe he fell into the CORE (unless the CORE was involved in whatever experiments he was doing with the Darkness).
also, the CORE is just a geothermal power plant. alphys even knows how it works (iirc she was about to explain but cut herself off due to social awkwardness). i dont see how gaster falling into a power plant would "shatter him across time and space" instead of just, y'know, killing him normally.
i think that the second picture is not in the game
Nah bro it's totally in the game, you just need to play the neutral route where you only kill one froggit and asgore 1348 times
Well now I’m going to do that.
The one froggit is Shayy
I think he's Wing Gaster.

Also it may be about Toby and Deltarune.
I think it’s more likely to be about Toby and Undertale honestly.
My brain is doing that stupid "shimmy-shimmy-yay-swalla la la" thing to the gif in your pfp. Help.
I just realized.

correct me if im wrong but i believe tolkien passed before he could finish and publish his last works, leading to his son publishing them
Yeah exactly what happened, but in deltarune, gerson's son Alvin didn't publish his books
ALSO, Alphys replaced his job because he was a teacher at that school, wasn't he?

I think he fell into a coffee machinr

Gaster was experimenting with Determination, we know this, so its not too absurd that he discovered dark fountains
we dont know that, theres no indication of that. if youre referring to the dt extraction machine then its far more likely alphys built it
Am i looking at???
Im kanako ketsukane from undertale yellow, is this another insanity post or what
Where's the pixels?
i ate them i was hungry
I think he'll be voiced by Andrew hussie
