This is proof of how powerful fear mongering and propaganda works because Republicans keep voting for these people even though they do NOTHING to help them.
“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.”
“The cheapest commodity on earth today is human flesh and bone. To make a profit at the expense of human life is the central controlling motive of our System.”
-Eugene Debs 1902
"They were corrupt, powerful, wealthy and skilled. They consumed all of Earth's resources, then devoured humans. When nothing was left, they turned on each other before the Flood took them all"
Yup. That's why the Republican party and conservative outlets push so hard on divisive social issues (race, trans, religion, etc.) They know they won't get enough votes purely on other issues.
Humans are still animals and they instinctually identify with a "tribe" out of self preservation. A large percentage of humanity view the world in a dualistic matter where everything is black and white and put all their loyalty behind "their" group, while viewing anyone not part of their group with fear, hate, and derision. They look to their tribal leader(s) for direction and what to think and believe.
It's not just a white vs black thing in America. It happens to every group of people (race, religion, tribe, nationality, political party, etc) throughout history.
Humans naturally divide and subdivide themselves into groups they identify with and, no matter how similar the people in these groups might be, it's easy for "tribal" leaders to get them to hate and despise people not in "their" group. Minor differences are amplified by demagogues and corrupt leaders.
Hell, even white Irish people were killing each other as recently as the 1990's largely due to identity (Catholic vs Protestant, British vs Irish).
It's surprisingly easy for tribal leaders to get people to hate and even order them kill others because humans are easily manipulated by their tribe and tribal leaders. I have no doubt someone like Trump could convince half his followers to go out kill anyone who isn't MAGA. He's certainly whipped many of them up into a frenzy against anyone who isn't white, Christian, and conservative. I have no doubt a large segment of America would go out and execute their fellow neighbors, with enough propaganda and emotionally-charged rhetoric by their tribe's leaders.
They’re just waiting for the go ahead. Lots of alt right and Christian nationalist militias training for the past decade in Washington and Idaho that I know of, I assume it’s pervasive in other states as well.
It's surprisingly easy for tribal leaders to get people to hate and even order them kill others because humans are easily manipulated by their tribe and tribal leaders.
A total of 909 individuals died in Jonestown itself, all but two from apparent cyanide poisoning, a significant number of whom were injected against their will.
Nah its just racist white people. They switched party once the civil rights act was passed. Haven't looked back since. Majority of the white electorate has always voted republican since.
It really does boil down to that. The proof is the fact that Trump has flip-flopped on every other issue but that one. He's raised their taxes through the roof and destroyed the economy with his tariffs. He's threatened to take away their guns and did the whole bump stock thing. He added more to the debt than any other President in history and even gave away tons of welfare in the form of "stimulus checks."
He's never backed down from getting rid of the Mexicans though. Not once.
Its why i dont feel bad for red states when they complain. They keep voting for the wealthy man's party because the wealthy learned how to cater to their bigotry.
If red state voters stopped being racist close minded assholes then maybe they would see the rich white dude they are voting for dont give two shits about them. Until they drop the idea that white is right nobody shouldnt lose sleep over red states being shitholes.
We've got to cut them off financially. We shouldn't be forced to subsidize this nation's greatest enemy. We need a candidate that will force those traitors off the government teet.
What if they ran as Republican because they know that's who Montana tends to vote for? A lot of Republicans won't even look at a candidate's policy stances if they have a (D) next to their name.
I’m registered as a republican because they win where I live and if I don’t vote in the (closed) primaries my vote literally won’t matter. When I lived in a blue area I registered as a democrat for the same reason. I can and do vote for whoever I want in the general election but everywhere I’ve lived those races are more or less decided, I’ve literally voted in one general election that was decided by less than like 10%.
State level republicans typically are willing to exert more control over their platforms.
Alaska, as a more extreme example, is majority R in its state legislature… but it is run by a democrat-led caucus with moderate republicans joining in.
actually they betrayed their party and the party acted accordingly. this is what the Democrats should do when people like Manchin and Sinema betray the party but they don't and we've seen how that has worked out for them.
I love just completely out of touch comments like this.
You happy with the replacement of Manchin now? You like that that seat is now a hard Reupublican seat? Because that seat isn't coming back any time soon. It's been lost. He was literally the best the state could do for any foreseeable future.
This is the result of the MAGA cult identity politics and the party shift when Trump came into the picture. Suddenly no Republicans are allowed to cross the aisle without being punished. It's been an issue for about a decade now. It's time to call these traitors out on their spineless bullshit.
This is also the critical error in choosing Merrick garland. By failing to hold them accountable when they’re out of power you just enable him even more.
Take solace in the fact that Mitch is likely spending every waking second (And there aren't many of those nowadays) pondering what Hell is going to be like. Absolutely dreading what comes next.
He knew he was greatly harming MILLIONS of people by doing what he did. He knew he wasn't a good man. He's probably well past the bargaining phase of his twilight year(s), and moving into the acceptance (Read: Horror) phase.
It's easy to be a Stephen Miller or Pam Bondi when you think you have 40-50 long years left. It becomes a lot harder to look back on a life of evil deeds when the gates of hell are just around the corner, though.
Dude I think you're way over estimating the moral compass of the Turtle. He's living his best life, too old to care anymore. These guys have no empathy or concern beyond the party's strength.
This is the result of the MAGA cult identity politics
It's been an issue for about a decade now.
It certainly seems like it's much worse since Trump, but as others have mentioned, this has been happening for decades.
I think it slowly got worse through the twentieth century, but it really accelerated under Reagan's Trickle-down Economics and has only continued getting worse.
I don't think I'm allowed to put a link in the comments, but for some really good visuals on how it has progressed, search for "Andris-2015-The rise of partisan.pdf" ("The Rise of Partisanship and Super-Cooperators in the U.S. House of Representatives").
It only goes up to 2011 (paper is from 2015), but even by then there's virtually no overlap across party lines.
Yea exactly this has been going on for the entirety of my existence. The fucking Dixie chicks (now the chicks) had their careers ended because they went against the invasion of Iraq
F that. We should be doing everything in our power to make their lives more difficult. The last thing we want to do is encourage or build up this nation's greatest enemy because they'll turn on us the first chance they get.
Dubbed “The Nasty Nine,” the Republican senators were censured by their own party, stripped of their GOP status and cut off from voting rights at their party’s conventions in June
Remember when even Rick Perry wasn't extreme enough for not discriminating against immigrants during the presidential debates? He had a great line too when been criticized for it... "have a heart!".
Montana's homeless population is significantly increasing, with notable jumps between 2022-2023 (up 45% according to HUD data) and a rising trend in recent years, straining shelters and services, especially in cities like Missoula, Bozeman, and Billings, affecting older adults, Indigenous people, and those with disabilities, leading to visible encampments and increased calls for solutions.
This is how Montana should be. Party is not first, doing what’s right comes first. We live in an area where neighbors do not agree politically… I think we all know it and we just don’t talk politics. But one of my neighbors put it well… when a grass fire started- everyone came out to help. That’s just what good neighbors do.
Sure we won’t agree with each other on everything, but why not work together on what we can agree on. Well done!
So, the Republican leadership feels that the great sin of these 9 ladies and gentlemen was that they stood and represented the people who elected them rather than toe a Republican line. They did what every representative should do. They spoke for the people who elected them.
That is shameful, but what can one expect from a party now basically a RICO headed by a soulless felon. People who act with conscience are in peril. A certain era in the history of Rome comes to mind.
This is me and the spouse. I live in MAGA County MT, but because of like 3 votes last year, we helped pass a Levy to help further fund our schools. (As well as helped abortion get codified into our State Constitution but that was way bigger than 3 votes)
Without us the school one might not have passed. It's such a tiny thing but I can't lie that I'm proud to have been one of the deciders of that!
Well, considering a few are suing to get their voting rights reinstated in the Republican MTGOP, I’d say, they would rather work to be forgiven than switch parties or be an Independent.
The fact that this is celebrating lowering taxes is a symptom of the underlying rot conservative propaganda has done to us as a culture and society. Lowering taxes means higher prices, increased inflation, and inferior government services. We should want to return to the 1950s at a minimum not celebrate shrinking our schools, hospitals, and infrastructure funding pools.
They said, “you’re not supposed to help them!” And properly ostracized them. Goes to show registered republicans are INCAPABLE of actually doing things that help their constituents. This proves the rule by them ejecting them from the party
Why did they sound so sane and logical, yet they're getting kicked out? It's like the actual conservative agenda is to destroy the government and crater American to private and foreign interests.
The thing is, their voters voted for them to be Republicans and screw over the poor and middle class in their districts. The fact that they were thrown out of the party is predictable as they betrayed the Republican party. The problem is that by betraying their party these Senators kept the face eating leopards at bay and the voters who elected them in the belief that they would be Republicans won't have their faces eaten by the leopards and given the opportunity to learn from the consequences of voting for Republicans.
Anyone who got kicked out of the Republicans/GOP because they sided with Democrats should join the Democrats, not just be friendly with them, but in spite of Donald Trump and GOP/Republican leadership, bipartisanship should have no boundary.
This is the most optimistic I've ever been, but I'm hoping the Republicans that are finally breaking away can sway the far right extremists to leave the party, and attempt their own radical party that fails hard.
They would have been fine if they were to give billionaires the lower income tax rate, free medicaid, invest in their interests, and provide support to them. That's where they went wrong. They gave it to the commoners.
So the moment conservatives try to do something to help the people they represent, they are kicked out of their party. Huh. Almost like conservatives only care about their rich donors.
Note how zero Democrats voted against exempting tip income from taxes. It was something that was positive to help Americans, and they didn't sabotage it to prevent a Republican victory, or because Trump supported it, or to stall the nation while they tried to leverage it to get something.
This is the perfect example of how our country is supposed to work. You don't have to agree with each other, but you need to serve the people as best as you can, as that's why you were elected.
Isn't this exactly what you should do as a goverment ? Come together on the big things and picker and disagree about the little things ? This is the kind of thing USA needs now, some willingness to work together to help the people.
The irony is, the terms liberal and conservative used to be about spending, liberal spending being spending lots of money, and conservative spending being very thrifty and saving. nowadays liberal and conservative is about morality and open mindedness.
"Ousted"...I'm actually impressed that the GOP overcame their coward nature and kicked these people out. I'm also not surprised that they would do something like that when it's totally obvious that the GOP would drop people the instant that they decided to care for other people.
I wonder how the US would be if the GOP actually cared about the US.

60 centuries really. Only war is the class war.
More importantly, they're still winning

And many drank the koolaid at gunpoint. These cultists would PAY the orange turd for a cup.

They didn't switch away from their tribe. Their tribe wasn't "the Democratic party", it was "white supremacy".
Its racism.
The state is 90% white and 7% Indian/Native...
Have you seen Montana?
Its why i dont feel bad for red states when they complain. They keep voting for the wealthy man's party because the wealthy learned how to cater to their bigotry.

Betrayed by their own party. We’ve seen this story before and too many times. Kudos to these nine for trying to do the right thing!
I mean they still choose to align with racist fascists. But I guess a broken clock is still right twice a day.
What if they ran as Republican because they know that's who Montana tends to vote for? A lot of Republicans won't even look at a candidate's policy stances if they have a (D) next to their name.

He voted against multiple cabinet appointments this year.
At the very minimum, he's concerned that his overall legacy will be the end of Pax Americana (which of course, is absolutely going to be his legacy).
There is no hell and Mitch knows it. Evil people live the longest because none of the things that should stress them out ever do.
Biden just would have chosen another loser to do nothing in his place.
Biden’s whole mentality was “maga is over let’s not prosecute him so we can move on.”
This whole shitshow is on him.
Weimar Republic 2: Electric Bidenoo
Didn't know your mom was second on his short list
Not Trump - Newt Gingrich is the more relevant villain here and you’re out by roughly 20 years

They should have their faces posted in positive light as this shows we CAN work together for a better future.
Yes 👏🏻👏🏻
F that. We should be doing everything in our power to make their lives more difficult. The last thing we want to do is encourage or build up this nation's greatest enemy because they'll turn on us the first chance they get.
LOL. but we WON'T as long as people keep voting republican.
Nice dream to have though.
cancel culture lol
identity politics lol
kitchen table issues lol
compassionate conservatives lol
lol.
It's incredible that these are things they are allowed to do at all.
Remember when even Rick Perry wasn't extreme enough for not discriminating against immigrants during the presidential debates? He had a great line too when been criticized for it... "have a heart!".
Sadly the most extreme are in charge now.
sounds like a certain nazi party ive heard about
To a T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How quaint. Politicians that actually care more for their constituents than the orange kool aid.
The tragedy of those who try
Setting an example for anyone else considering such a vote.
That tells you exactly who the GOP are and that they don’t allow helping common men and women.
That tracks
Truly deplorable party of pedophiles.
The GOP is a terrorist organization hellbent on destroying the Constitution and reinstating a form of slavery.

That is not politics anymore.
This is politics. This is the politics of one of the two parties in the American political system becoming authoritarian.
They cannot win on policy, and they will only win on lies for so long. Therefore, they must lay the groundwork for dictatorship.
It's the WWE reality show. Check out a new episode of "Ow! My Balls " next on trumptv.x!
How is it not politics?
Because its no longer about policy, its blind allegiance to the authoritarian.
Exactly , politicians are and exist with the purpose of serving its people, when its no longer the case , it is not politics or the spirit of politics.
Montana needs more Republicans like this
The entire country needs more Republicans like this.
Gotta start small
By not voting for Republicans.
This is how Montana should be. Party is not first, doing what’s right comes first. We live in an area where neighbors do not agree politically… I think we all know it and we just don’t talk politics. There’s a lot of big money, corporations that own a lot of land up there. The only people they want lower taxes for is the rich.

So glad I left.
In a state like Montana you are better off staying because your vote counts more.

Yeah. I wouldn't want to be part of a group that didn't want me. To each his own.
Tell that to conservative minorities!
Yeah ... thats the GOP for you.

They can kick them out of the party?
Lmfao, government working as intended is now one of those feel good news stories. FFS
The GOP is a treasonous party that hates Americans.
Okay, so do Democrats now have a huge majority?
They will still vote Trump so fuck them.

Smh
Being kicked out is a blessing
soooo 27 democrats are now in montana government?
WTF?!
Much needed video in this time thank you.
Is there any precedent of a state democratic party doing something similar?
Actually helping people? That’s completely antithetical to the Republican cause!
So it called Greed Over People for a good reason.
If more Republicans acted like this (and voted like this) I might occasionally support a Republican candidate.
Isn't Montana the playground of the billionaires? How dare the plebs ask for moah?
The fact that this is celebrating lowering taxes is a symptom of the underlying rot conservative propaganda has done to us as a culture and society. Lowering taxes means higher prices, increased inflation, and inferior government services. We should want to return to the 1950s at a minimum not celebrate shrinking our schools, hospitals, and infrastructure funding pools.
We need more of this kind of collaboration. Do what is best for America not self interest like Dozy Donald.
Republicans have more important issues. Such as who can use which bathroom etc.
yup the republikkkans are pro corporation , if it’s good for the people they will vote it down get rid of it
Badge of honor
They said, “you’re not supposed to help them!” And properly ostracized them. Goes to show registered republicans are INCAPABLE of actually doing things that help their constituents. This proves the rule by them ejecting them from the party
Montana! Unexpected, but totally on brand that they were censured by their own pathetic bootlicking, Brokeback rubes.
More of this please!
The small government party everyone
I thought there were only 2 senators per state? Am I missing something?
So they gave the democrats 9 members?
If bipartisanship is not allowed, can we just skip to Civil War 2?
Remember this when you hear about BS bipartisanship. No voter wants it.
I hope the GOP dies an ugly death, and it should.
Sales tax will increase eventually.
BoTh siDeS
And they call the other side snowflakes and cancel culture.
Da fuck. Rational people censored. Wtf
32 republican/18 democrat
9 crossed the line to save lives.
Get fucked GOP.

CBS about to have their broadcast license revoked.
Lower income tax but increase spending?
Wake up people. Even if the US rips out corruption we NEED to tax people more to effectively run the government.
You are not cruel enough; you are not true republicans.
Who cares it’s was a garbage party anyway!
Good for them. Bipartisanship needs to make a comeback.
GOP treats all the citizens of this country like cattle.
This happed earlier in 2025 but maybe people didnt hear about it then. https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/s/h8RDOHbiSh
Great job Montana GOP. See through the narrative and bullshit and serve the people, your neighbors.
Anyone who got kicked out of the Republicans/GOP because they sided with Democrats should join the Democrats, not just be friendly with them, but in spite of Donald Trump and GOP/Republican leadership, bipartisanship should have no boundary.
More people, more votes, more power.
This is the most optimistic I've ever been, but I'm hoping the Republicans that are finally breaking away can sway the far right extremists to leave the party, and attempt their own radical party that fails hard.
I wonder if this isn’t just the first shot fired in a GOP civil war to come.
Too many lions. We need to start being shepherds.
Canadian here- Is there an adult in charge? USA bs is Shakespearean in its nakedness. We need you. Love u. Why u be hating on like everyone?
Any working person who votes for Republicans is either certifiably insane or should be required to return to the 7th grade.
They would have been fine if they were to give billionaires the lower income tax rate, free medicaid, invest in their interests, and provide support to them. That's where they went wrong. They gave it to the commoners.
Rational people in office.
So the moment conservatives try to do something to help the people they represent, they are kicked out of their party. Huh. Almost like conservatives only care about their rich donors.
It’s not a bug it’s a feature.
Both parties are not the same
You can bet your ass all those republicans that voted to censure will take credit for reduced income tax and infrastructure improvements.
Would that not cost the Republicans their majority?
Note how zero Democrats voted against exempting tip income from taxes. It was something that was positive to help Americans, and they didn't sabotage it to prevent a Republican victory, or because Trump supported it, or to stall the nation while they tried to leverage it to get something.
It's. A. Cult.
The Conundrum of it all ,is that every single one of us want the same for every single one of us ......and for some reason we can't see that...
Maga sucks and is weird. Fuck trump
Man that sounds like a terribly sensible decision made for the betterment of their voters. Way to go. 👍
This is what real Republicans and Democrats should be doing instead of letting people divide us as a country
God has blessed these people!! They are no longer members of the Pedo Party.
Know your enemy
This is the perfect example of how our country is supposed to work. You don't have to agree with each other, but you need to serve the people as best as you can, as that's why you were elected.
Seems like the GOP is playing musical chairs-vote the plan, then kick out the players when the music stops.
This means you don’t have to wear those silly hats anymore
How many billion$ were sent to Palestine and anti-white NGO's as part of the vote?
ALL Republicans are traitors to this country.
I'm sorry what? Those politicians did something that was in the best interest for the people of Montana and got... what?!
Should be the norm, not the exception.
Sad
the party must be getting pretty brittle if allowing any compromise is that much of a risk.
