• Not that I'm an expert on the topic but I feel like deploying them in Belarus would mean they could possibly be intercepted on the way up by NATO air-defences. Though I'd assume it's more to make a point that in preparation for being used.

The reason is simply that Lukashenko asked for it. After they fired it at Ukraine, Lukashenko asked Putin to deploy it to Belarus so they can have some

So this is more for showing Russian support to Belarus than anything.

The missiles in belarus are also supposedly operated by Russians, but Belarus controls what they target

Furthermore, these long range missiles have a not insignificant minimum range. Id they are stationed in Belarus, these missiles would probably be unable to be used against the Baltics or Poland.

Alleged min range of Oreshnik is 700kms .

Alleged Mach10, and multiple individually targetable reentry vehicles .

    Difficult .

Looking at the interception tech ( and myths ) present re US tech is very interesting .

So close to NATO the can be intercepted on launch. Just launched rockets are easy targets. Big , slow and can't maneuver.

He's talking about intercepting them at launch. That is the only good option for intercepting such missiles (or ICBMs for example).
