I believe I killed my UDMP sending PoE++ down into the WAN port instead of out to a Starlink by accident. The WAN port stopped working so I rebooted it and it never came back online. I've since replaced the machine with a new one, but I still have the old one on a shelf. Even trying to reset it using the paperclip hole doesn't seem to do anything. A long cold soak without power also didn't help. Open for any tips. It's out of warranty so wondering what if anything I can do with it? Or maybe I should open it up and check for a dead resistor or blown capacitor?

  • Is it just the WAN port not working? Because it also has an SFP port that can be used for WAN connection. I have both connected in a failover configuration.

No the entire machine does not boot. The screen just says something like "it's taking a little longer than usual". No apps come online, it does not get WAN internet or talk to the connected switch or do much of anything as far as I can tell.

Can you connect a laptop/computer to one of the LAN ports, with a static ip of 192.168.1.2, and try to access the web page at http://192.168.1.1 (or https://192.168.1.1).

See if you get anything - it may just need configuring. Or it could be dead…

Have you tried a factory reset? Ie hold the reset button down for 10 seconds (while powered on) - display should say “resetting to factory”.

yes it does not respond to the reset button

    Sounds dead then…
