Just tied it only briefly, just got stuck in connecting but I don’t know if that was just my config, I’m glad this is a feature tho!! This thing is gonna be so useful
Mine too, I looked at my WireGuard server and the handshake appeared to be successful but I didn’t seem to have any connectivity. I haven’t had an opportunity to try to troubleshoot further.
On one hand: yes, this is standard functionality for any travel router, so it makes sense that you’d ask that question if you don’t own one.
On the other hand: this functionality wasn’t available on day 1, so this is welcome news for those of us who have been waiting/hoping for it. I personally didn’t know whether this would be coming in a few days or a few months.
So far I like it. Love the form factor, same size as my WiFiMan Wizard. And the power supply from a Flex Mini works perfect in case anyone is wondering. I’ve also powered it from an iPhone/iPad charger and a Anker Prime Power Bank.
I plug it in, after a minute or two it’s on and connected back to home via Teleport. Speeds have fluctuated for me right now with a hotspot, anywhere from 80 to 250 down and 20 to 100 up. But it’s working fine for me.
I cannot tell if it’s doing a DNS Leak like others have reported. I use the built in Adblock in UniFi (with some allow lists) and ads on websites I go to on my laptop are blocked. So I assume it’s working like it should.
All and all quite happy, wish there was a way to turn off the screen.
I didn’t leave it on it long. The Prime Power Bank shows wattage and amps and I was more curious about that info. But if I had to guess it would probably last a day, it has the 27,650mAh battery.
Thats a different kind of debacle in my head; it certainly didn’t work for many (I never had a problem with mine but I think that was dumb luck), but it didn’t ship with features only available on Android or maybe a beta iOS app, that’s just egregiously sloppy
The UTR didn’t shipped with android WireGuard support. It happens often on early access that either iOS or android gets new beta stuff a few days before the other platform
MLO wasn’t available when the u7 Pro launched and it came as early access feature first, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it actually was released for android first as well.
I wonder if the UTR can teleport back to home unifi network and wireguard to 3rd party vpn server simultaneously? It would be a no go for me if it can't

OpenVPN is coming soon per UI-Tom on the Discord.
Tailscale?
When vital missing thing which I feel is a priority in any travel networking equipment nowadays,

I mean….why wouldn’t it?
Because this was released today for iOS and not long ago for Android, after being released and shipped and causing a massive Reddit panic

Is there a guide on configuring this with WireGuard? I've not been able to get it working for myself yet.
I just literally scanned the QR code from the unifi.ui dashboard and it connected, I ssh'd in and am on the latest firmware though.
I've got a pfSense router, so I have to manually configure things. Wishing they'd release an updated UDR so I can switch.
lemme dump and scrub my config really quick and see if you can learn anything
Yeah theres not much here

How long did it last in a powerbank?

Mine arrived today - looking forward to playing with it in the coming days.
Specs say it requires 5W and uses a 5V USB charger, so any USB charger should work
Thank you I somehow missed that.
Not an option with iOS
You need the TestFlight UniFi version for now
Release products shouldn’t require beta software for expected release functionality.
My man, is this your first Ubiquiti product?
Not at all haha. I was an addict at one time.
In all seriousness its just sad seeing a company trying to make it in to the enterprise space while still having incomplete software.
It's not incomplete, it's evolving ™
I dunno, I’ve been in this rodeo for a decade now but this particular launch has been pretty bad, even for UI
Someone forgot the U7 Pro launch
