As a ptf these 6 months of work have been a blessing to me and my family. Being at the post office for my first 6months is a good time have you ever felt like this before?
I made around this much as a CCA in 2021 in six months. If your office is understaffed enough and your steward doesn’t care enough, you’ll get a LOT of hours.
Nope. I'm being put in the poor house by this god awful dinosaur of a company. Thank god I had an interview for a job that's more respectful. These morons clearly overhired. Not even 40 hours a week!
It's fucking killing me! Just send me to a different fucking office until someone fucking retires. If I'm not working a full day, send me somewhere. The last month has been around 20 hours a week. Then this asshole makes in six months what I'll make in three years. Fml.
I mean asshole in the most loving way possible. I work a second job, it's just not enough. I can't really schedule a third job. What else is there to figure out other than all I need is the one 67 year old with 38 years of service just needs to call it a fucking day so I can work full time hours. That's simply all there is to it. So eat my shit. He got his, now I want mine. Just as you do too.
Exactly. Totally feel you. In the same boat! And they try to call you and tell you to stay home. It's a shit show. My account has gone negative each time between pay periods.
I work a second job cleaning a few hours before work five days a week. Without it, I'd literally be living in my car til someone retires. I can't just FIGURE it out. Plus this sub is for bitching so that's what I'm gonna do to deal better.
Not our office. They’ve hired every runner west of the Mississippi. These fools carry all the OT in UT!!!! PM said he’s hiring more CCAs to get rid of OT . He’s such an A$$hole. Golden Boy who gets what he wants.
As a PTF carrier, the max you can work is 11.5 hours a day for 56 hours a week. A PTF carrier makes $25.46 an hour starting. There is no way in hell you made 70k in 6 months as a PTF carrier.
Where are you getting these max hours from? My first year as a PTF carrier we were so understaffed I worked 14hr days 6-7 days a week, about 90hrs a week for a while.
No, it's not. New hires wind up with unrealistic expectations. MHAs, CCAs, PSEs, RCAs, Holiday Help, Seasonal, and PTFs and anyone else that is not a Regular gets coddled and set up with unrealistic expectations of what to expect.
It would be INCREDIBLY hard to hit 72 in 6 months on table 2 step B, no matter how much OT one is getting. In 2022 there was a top step city carrier in my office who ALMOST made 200k and she was essentially on the clock 7 days a week for more than 12 hours. I'm struggling to believe the 6 month claim. I'm thinking the reality here is 8-10 months being mistaken for somewhere around 6 months. 72k at 10 months with a decent amount of OT is pretty reasonable.
To give a reference I did 75 hours last week and 68 hours the week before as step B and my gross pay was 5300 which would be a yearly of 138k so with penalty time that would be roughly what the OP's numbers would have to look like.
I worked 40 hrs/week for the month of Jan, 60 hrs/week from Feb-Aug and then had some time off in Aug/Sept/Oct due to weddings (so had some paychecks with 40ish/week) and now have been back to 60 hrs/week in Nov/Dec. and I’ll hit $80k with this next paycheck. I for sure call BS lol
"Back in my day" May of 2015, I got hired in as a CCA, making $14.25. I "hit the streets" in June and ended that year around $41k. They come in making at least $21/hr now so that would put them in a reasonable range of Mid $50K to $60K..... i guess.....kanye shrug
But I'll also say this, there were 2 carriers in my area that were in the MODs radar about 3 years ago for grossing over $200K one year. I was told they would double/triple case, deliver their route, and would still get OT on the street. EEEK!! Obviously, they were also already at maxed out pay as well.
There’s something fishy about the CCAs in our office. Our PM moves from office to office “ sorting them out”. Every CCA he hires is a runner. They do all the OT on undertime. For $20/hr?? Just wondering what the PO has promised them.
My office was like that for a few months, we only had like 5 PTFs at the time and down like 10-15 routes every day (out of ~80). Sometimes my swing was an entire other route, they said just make sure all parcels get delivered and bring back the rest of the mail. One route didn't get any mail delivered for like 3 days in a row, it was a nightmare to case when we eventually did take it out
I can't imagine a fresh PTF making this much in 6 months. I make this hitting 60 hours a week and over half through the payscale. They must be grinding you into a paste every shift or something
Yea it’s good on paper but your soul isn’t good and I know that for a fact! No matter how much money one can make usps is not your life it’s a job! Cherish your family and the things you already have
Crazy brother, Im not a carrier but in a plant and I did all thr OT incould and signed up for every holiday and I hit $118 this YEAR. Nice work, I bet you're tired.
"If you're tired of the manager not giving you hours, associates being all up in the Social Media videos dancing, wanting a job that pays more money. Come on over to DeathR--- the USPS" Hahaha
I get 40hrs/week 😭 srsly tho im kinda just waiting to get promoted or finally break and go to college… "i'm still young so i have time" (im 18 but still im just done)
Let’s use some basic math to break this down. You made $72,808.99 working as a CCA for the Post Office. As a CCA I am currently making $20.73/hr. So 6 months = 26 weeks. $72,808.99/$20.73=3,512.252 hours. 3512.25/26=135.0865 hours per week. 135/7=19.286 hours per day with no days off.
I don’t know about your office, but here in SoCal, they don’t allow you to come in 6 hours before your shift and work 5 hours past your shift.
A blessing? Your family never sees you. Your kids will never know you. Greed and money is definitely not worth missing your only time to grow and watch your kids grow. Priceless!
When you read these comments, you can see where people admit this is possible but not worth it. 72k can be made a lot of places if $$ is all yiu care about
Why the fuck do you all want to work so many hours? I made about 100k last year as a clerk and decided that the extra money wasn’t worth my health or time together with my family, so I got off the ODL and haven’t worked more than 40 hours in a week with the exception of January. Yes, I’ll make much less money. But I get so much more time to spend on more meaningful things without being constantly burned out.
as new regular my last pay check said i made 71k YTD and im on OT list whole year. Assume im higher pay step than you , how you make more than me in half of times
That’s incredible!! The most money I made at the PO was also my first year, it was the beginning of 2022 and that station was always behind so maxed out days 6 days a week until making regular that late summer and bouncing to messy office (now situated) closer to home.
6 months is about 1000 hours of normal 8 hour shifts 5 days a week. This would mean you averaged more than 72 dollars an hour.
If you worked 7 days a week you’d be at about 1344 hours 54 dollars an hour
10 hour days would put you at 43 an hour
12 hour days would put you at 36 dollars an hour.
In order for you to make 72k in 6 months as a new carrier accounting for overtime you’d average 104 hours a week, which is 14-15 hour days 7 days a week for 6 months.
Even during Christmas my office will pull us off the road after 12 hours including lunch. Idk if that’s a thing now but I remember last year I worked from 630am till about 830 pm
Bs I'm only at 80k for the whole year at step B and that's with OT every week and 70 hour work weeks when I was a PTF at the start of the year til about April
Everyone is hating but honestly you never know, maybe he has a connection in the workplace that got him
Higher pay, or he’s illegally faking his clock ins and clock outs and making it seem like he worked that much but didn’t
The new contracts don't allow for PSEs, MHAs, CCAs, RCAs, Holiday Help, Seasonal Help, PTFs or anyone else who is not a Full-time Regular to be used and abused. There is no way they're pushing 70k.
stay blessed, and off this subreddit - this place is for us miserable workers.
Damn really
Lol well dang it I thought was to talk bout how our union sucks and how our supervisor are useless worthless over paid grumpy old people
Smells of BS…
I used to do 140-150 annually….just kills your body from all the walking and long hours
I made around this much as a CCA in 2021 in six months. If your office is understaffed enough and your steward doesn’t care enough, you’ll get a LOT of hours.
Wish
till you don’t, then you wish again, and repeat
Fml.
Don't call others assholes just because you find them more fortunate . Not his fault . Figure YOUR shit out bro
I mean asshole in the most loving way possible. I work a second job, it's just not enough. I can't really schedule a third job. What else is there to figure out other than all I need is the one 67 year old with 38 years of service just needs to call it a fucking day so I can work full time hours. Damn Damn Damn. It's a shame how some CCAs are feasting on overtime and others can't even get an honest week of Fulltime work!
15 hour days every day for 6 months? Actually that’s based on current rates so more than that?
12-14 hours for 6 days a week, the double time hit like crack. I’m also in Alaska so there was a decent COLA added on top.
Not our office. They’ve hired every runner west of the Mississippi. These fools carry all the OT in UT!!!! PM said he’s hiring more CCAs to get rid of OT . He’s such an A$$hole. Golden Boy who gets what he wants.
Ptf is a rural substitute with career designation and they cover vacant routes and yes that is accurate with pay because we don’t have a lot of subs
How? This is real I just started in June
You've been ptf for at least 8 months, for one.
Hey man time flies when you're having fun
Cut the BS bro 🤣
Im calling BS none of the new contracts allow for management to schedule you the hours required to hit those numbers.
Come on bro. Make it easier for people to check your shit.
They were worried about getting fired for an II 8 months ago
Oops! 😬
Lmao got eem
As a custodian worker FYI
You ain't hitting 72k as a PTF in the Custodian Craft.
I became a carrier
As a PTF carrier, the max you can work is 11.5 hours a day for 56 hours a week. A PTF carrier makes $25.46 an hour starting. There is no way in hell you made 70k in 6 months as a PTF carrier.
OP care to comment?
OP hit me with the thumbs down cause he know he caught.
Where are you getting these max hours from? My first year as a PTF carrier we were so understaffed I worked 14hr days 6-7 days a week, about 90hrs a week for a while.
The new contracts changed all that. They don't use and abuse them anymore.
Oh damn, nice!
No, it's not. New hires wind up with unrealistic expectations. MHAs, CCAs, PSEs, RCAs, Holiday Help, Seasonal, and PTFs and anyone else that is not a Regular gets coddled and set up with unrealistic expectations of what to expect.
EXPOSED
👮♂️ 🔝
So you’re telling me you made 72 grand in 6 months? So in a year you’ll make 140,000? Hmm…
Probably 12 months. He is looking at his paystub December 2025..this is all of 2025.
Or maybe like you are saying he started in Feb / March 2025....I don't believe 6 months either.
To give a reference I did 75 hours last week and 68 hours the week before as step B and my gross pay was 5300 which would be a yearly of 138k so with penalty time that would be roughly what the OP's numbers would have to look like.

Napkin math puts a new carrier at 21/hr needing 105 hour weeks or 15 hour days every day for 6 months to make 72k.
I remember working in hvac in the summer and being stressed about 60-70 hour weeks
I'm not gonna call him a liar, BUT it is fishy!!
"Back in my day" May of 2015, I got hired in as a CCA, making $14.25. I "hit the streets" in June and ended that year around $41k. They come in making at least $21/hr now so that would put them in a reasonable range of Mid $50K to $60K..... i guess.....kanye shrug

He promised them they could keep their job tf....
I hope so next year will be my year
Fake. 72k in 6 months as a new ptf and clamin8ng you have a family.
Ain't no family when you work 80hrs a week. Gtfo here with this BS.
I mean I worked 72 hrs/week for the first few months lol
Family didn’t love it ofc
Make it while you can, because these kind of checks go away after you make regular. Unless you go on the list.
So you telling me you average 82 hours a week for the past 6 months. Lol
My office was like that for a few months, we only had like 5 PTFs at the time and down like 10-15 routes every day (out of ~80). Sometimes my swing was an entire other route, they said just make sure all parcels get delivered and bring back the rest of the mail. One route didn't get any mail delivered for like 3 days in a row, it was a nightmare to case when we eventually did take it out
Holy crap
And .99¢ 😂 Why did u block out the current pay??
Inspect element, change number
lmao
I can't imagine a fresh PTF making this much in 6 months. I make this hitting 60 hours a week and over half through the payscale. They must be grinding you into a paste every shift or something
I am step B. I am at this, but full year, and money dropped off after converting and getting on WA. (BTW, this is pre-tax total)
You either working a ton of hours, or you got a helluva steward.
How many hours a wk do you average?
Why did u hide the gross pay.how much u got?
20k on the grievance payout so the total is so high
but why lie? i don't understand
No lie
Did you not have an II 8 months ago?
What does an II have anything to do with pay?
he said 6 months yet posted proof of employment 8 months ago. the story doesn't exactly add up
Not saying it’s believable, but he said “as a PTF these 6 months”. He could have been a CCA or some other position when he posted about the II
🧢
Show paid hours or its BS
So you can steal my money
lol dude cmon
Yeah good try bud. Ain't no way... A whole year? Yeah probably possible but not 6 months.
Actually 6 months and 3 days
Yea it’s good on paper but your soul isn’t good and I know that for a fact! No matter how much money one can make usps is not your life it’s a job! Cherish your family and the things you already have
Awesome
My office won’t let anyone work over 60hrs a week…. PTF or regular even during this time of year “peak” period.
Our office is a mad house
That's more than I make in a year.
Nooooo
BS I made under 90k on step b working 60 hours every week
Crazy brother, Im not a carrier but in a plant and I did all thr OT incould and signed up for every holiday and I hit $118 this YEAR. Nice work, I bet you're tired.
This. Right behind you with 115 working whatever they gave me. Topped out clerk. I highly doubt this is real though.
This is 6 months if you worked about 70-80 hours every week. I guess that’s cool if you can enjoy it before dropping dead of exhaustion.
Nope still thriving
🧢
No cap
I love that you blurred out the pay period amount but told us the period of time it took to get the YTD
Exactly
Well as a Step A Lvl 7 MM, my gross for my last Paystub YTD (#26) was $71,056.79, but my deductions were also $39,153.42. 🙃
This is more than 3x what I get as an associate at Walmart… yes 💀 Edit: more than 3x what I get in a YEAR.
"If you're tired of the manager not giving you hours, associates being all up in the Social Media videos dancing, wanting a job that pays more money. Come on over to DeathR--- the USPS" Hahaha
But seriously, come on pver and make some $$
I get 40hrs/week 😭 srsly tho im kinda just waiting to get promoted or finally break and go to college… "i'm still young so i have time" (im 18 but still im just done)

6 months? Bro I’m at like 63k for the full year so far and I worked 6-5 probably 30% of the year
this is real ? lol new CCA here no idea what all these steps are
no. I mean it's possible but not having started in June. steps are c through p since we recently cut a and b
We only cut A. The tentative agreement was going to cut A and B, but that was voted down.
And so they had to punish us for our insolence
How many hours overtime? How much grievance pay?
At least 17hrs it
Nice PTF
How long u been a ptf
Since June
I mean you don't make more than me so we still good
people will say you are lying cause they are lazy and dont want to hussle
keep killing it
Is this off 40 hours? Where are you?
Mallory bros🫡
What are you gloating ? You are doing a lot of OT . Congrats . OT is YMMV .
🧢
Part-time Christmas help. We have carriers grossing over $200K in my office 💰
I've never made that much wtf

Pretty decent
That’s incredible!! The most money I made at the PO was also my first year, it was the beginning of 2022 and that station was always behind so maxed out days 6 days a week until making regular that late summer and bouncing to messy office (now situated) closer to home.

I miss those days (60+ hours weeks are hell, get some good rest)
It’s good money and benefits for not being in college
Holy shit.....
In six month, that’s crazy. I’m glad you worked this hard you earned every penny!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m pretty sure this is a brag post lol but respect 😂
Even during Christmas my office will pull us off the road after 12 hours including lunch. Idk if that’s a thing now but I remember last year I worked from 630am till about 830 pm
I need to see more details
Nope you probably average 11-12 hrs
Enjoy until you become career. I used to make huge bank as a pse and now it’s depressing lol.
Dang bro, I’m a maintenance mechanic and on minimal (6th day) overtime this is what I make in a year….. good on you dude
Just get better at your job and you’ll get hours
Wow shit that’s a lot for your first six months the
Did this get you the attention you were hoping for
No because nobody knows my name
Are you asking if 72k is good for 6 months? Lol you know the answer
😂😂😂
I mean, they should pay based on the service the customers get we should vote on your pay
Bs I'm only at 80k for the whole year at step B and that's with OT every week and 70 hour work weeks when I was a PTF at the start of the year til about April
Gross pay not net pay 😂😂 The comments are wild … There is no way you made 72k in six months. Definitely this person is
not paying taxes ?
That’s pretty gross
Wtf do u think???
Yes that’s a good year. Well done! Though I’m sure you’re very tired!
Asf
Damn bro thts my yearly salary….
Wow
If it can cover your bills, I say yes. If not, no
Awesome
Damn
Excellent for 6 months!
Dang you’ve made more than me and I’ve been here 9 months 😭
Oh no
hell yeee 😎 makes me miss the old hours i use to get
One day you’ll be back
I mean that’s something you should ask yourself tbh is that good enough for you?
Very good
Everyone is hating but honestly you never know, maybe he has a connection in the workplace that got him Higher pay, or he’s illegally faking his clock ins and clock outs and making it seem like he worked that much but didn’t
The new contracts don't allow for PSEs, MHAs, CCAs, RCAs, Holiday Help, Seasonal Help, PTFs or anyone else who is not a Full-time Regular to be used and abused. There is no way they're pushing 70k.
That’s why I mentioned the possibility of him illegally faking his work hours, many people do it
The Lead Clerk doing TACs for the office would have received a 14-day by now for not notifying management.
* I'm way overpaid the post office just gives away money 🥱
Everyone calm down this is real
No it’s not you asked about an II 8 months ago.
Bro continues to dig his hole even though we know he’s lying 😂
