I'm working on a podcast dealing with Satan in America's cultural imagination, and one episode deals with the Jersey Devil.

I'm doing a first run through of potential people to interview or sites to visit. I've been compiling a list, but I figured this is the kind of thing Reddit is great at.

So....any recs for places to visit or people to talk to for an episode on the Jersey Devil?

  • The Blue Hole in the Pine Barrens is supposedly the home or at least frequent stomping grounds of the Jersey Devil. There’s not anything there that talks about the Jersey Devil, it’s just a pond in the woods, but I don’t think there are many sites related to it so might be worth checking out.

  • Last Podcast on the Left.

  • The X-Files had a Jersey Devil episode

  • Place in Asbury park. A museum. , the actual lady’s home , and the pine barrens is where it allegedly lives. Camped there a lot.. never saw it

  • Bruce Springsteen has a story about the Jersey Devil on a live bootleg.

  • The Jersey Devil was the child of Mother Leeds. The Jersey Devil was originally called the Leeds Devil. The first published account was in a 1859 Atlantic Monthly article. The earliest accounts have Mother Leeds living near the Delaware River in Burlington County. Other places in South Jersey claim the Jersey Devil as their own, perhaps most notably Leeds Point, which is on the coast near Atlantic City.
